Twitch has established itself as the digital platform of reference for the distribution of audiovisual content. In this environment, traditional sports journalism has experienced a big growth. With the aim to delve into this trend, this research performs a case study about LaLiga Casters, an official series of game streaming led by Spanish content creator Ibai Llanos, through the analysis of its content and a survey of heavy users (n=50). From a practical point of view, it is possible to determine that these broadcasts have broad similarities with traditional radio and television programs. However, the first steps of a process of media convergence can be observed: while users of traditional sports broadcasts can follow the matches with a more casual tone at certain times, such as the post-game, Twitch streamers increase the journalistic quality of their content thanks to typical procedures of legacy media.

The consolidation of the streaming platforms (OTT) has caused a strong competition between the different television operators of the broadcasting industry in Spain in an increasingly fragmented and personalized market. In addition, there has been a radical transformation of the consumption habits. As for the young audiences, four out of every ten don´t watch the regional television channels, and only 15% connect to these channels daily. Regional television channels have to compete in an already disadvantaged situation due to their continuous declining audiences since 2004. This work analyzes the digital strategies utilized by the Basque Public Radio and Television (EiTB) in order to compete with the streaming platforms and attract audiences, mainly Basque-speaking youth, with Basque-language contents. In the final conclusions we discuss the viability of the digital strategies of EiTB to avoid the flight of audiences and fulfill its public service mandate.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led the largest deployment of the Spanish Armed Forces on its own soil since 1977. The Government of Spain decreed a state of alarm on March 14, 2020 and launched a military support and containment mission where the Social media accounts of the units involved have been reporting its evolution. The objective of this study is to know the impact of the publications uploaded by each organization each day of this state of alarm on their Facebook accounts. The number of publications, likes and comments made during the state of alarm, both positive and negative, has been quantitatively and qualitatively measured, observing that all agencies have given a very broad coverage of their work, that there have been more "hoarding" accounts than others and that the audience have appreciated and recognized their efforts for the most part.

The autonomous communities had to manage communication through their transparency portals during the pandemic. In the absence of agreements on what information they should publish, it is necessary to evaluate these portals as communication tools. In order to evaluate the quality of the transparency platforms on coronavirus, a double study was carried out. First, we undertook a content analysis of the data portals of the 17 autonomous communities and, subsequently, we interviewed the heads of the communities that obtained the best results in the analysis. The results show that the portals are still deficient, considering that the crisis started more than a year ago. Centralization of communication has proven to be the most effective way to manage transparency. The success of these portals has largely depended on the human value and the institutions’ openness attitude.

The evolution of smartphones drives the consumption of information on digital platforms, where social networks and apps take relevance as communicative channels. This justifies the need to permanently investigate the variation of the uses and gratifications in the digital audience. This study delves into the information gap generated by analysing the audience's selection, preference and interest in the content offered on multiplatform -web, social networks and apps- to determine whether or not they follow the agenda set by the media. Thus, it proposes a case study with a double methodology of content analysis (N=210) applied to elDiario.es; and a survey (N=245) on the audience's consumption of networks and apps. The results confirm this gap and the divergence in uses and gratifications together with a media strategy that is not very specialised in mobile and networks, while the audience highlights them as relevant for their information consumption

Since 1980, Chile has maintained a constitution established in a period of dictatorship sustained by 17 years. In 2020, through a plebiscite, which resulted in the approval of a constitutional change, the process towards a new constitution is concretized. To effect this change required the vote of constituents elected by the citizens, so for a period of 28 days a campaign broadcast on open television called the electoral strip was carried out. The analysis of this strip, based on framing theories, was the object of study of this research. To this end, an information survey was carried out that constituted the corpus, from which the dominant frames of meaning (frames) in the content of the messages of said strip were described. The findings obtained allowed to elucidate the topics of interest of each conglomerate and that should be present in the debates around the drafting of the new Magna.

This work is dedicated to the treatment that the French press of the time gave to the destruction of the Spanish artistic heritage during the Civil War (1936-1939). Of all these media, the illustrated magazines have been studied in detail, since this fact had a prominent presence in their pages with the resource of graphic testimony as the main ingredient. In this context, the vicissitudes suffered by the Prado Museum, already then an international standard bearer of Spanish culture, take on great prominence. For the French press, regardless of their different ideological affinities, it was essential to stop the disaster and undertake protection and safeguard measures in this regard. So the immediate interest aroused by the Spanish war in French public opinion had a special section referring to this important loss of assets.

This article compares, using the framing methodological approach, the coverage of four terrorist attacks in Spain (2004, 2017) and the UK (2005, 2017), with more than a decade between them, in two reference media, El País and The Guardian. The results of the analysis of 517 news articles show a relevant evolution from framing these jihadist attacks on victims and destruction in 2004 and 2005 to prioritizing terror management and prosecution in 2017. The emphasis is now on revealing the strategy and modus operandi of terrorists rather than the chaos resulting from their actions. Moreover, criticism towards mistakes made in counterterrorism has become more prominent.

This article analyzes all the tweets referring to millennials published on the Twitter profiles of the Spanish newspapers El País, El Mundo, ABC and eldiario.es between January 1, 2017 and June 30, 2021 (n= 270) with the purpose of exploring how this group is represented in the media. The results allow us to conclude that the newspapers predominantly address soft news when referring to young people. This, together with the habitual attribution of negative stereotypes, contributes to the construction of an unfavorable image of millennials. A trend that, in general terms, is common in all four media outlets. These findings contrast with the preferences of the Twitter audience, considering that hard news, stereotype-free publications are the ones that produce greater interaction.
