Resumen
Bean golden mosaic, rust, web blight, and common bacterial blight frequently limit bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) yield in the Caribbean. Results from the PROFRIJOL Caribbean Adaptation Nurseries demonstrate that CIAT and the bean breeding programs in the Caribbean have developed red mottled and light red kidney bean varieties with resistance to one or more of these diseases. The availability of molecular markers should permit the combination of specific genes conferring resistance. However, the effective use of these genes for disease resistance will require learning about the virulence patterns of pathogens. Sources of tolerance to some abiotic factors such as high temperatures have been identified. Nevertheless, bean breeding programs in the Caribbean have not yet developed bean varieties that combine disease resistance and tolerance to abiotic stress. The Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba have made collections of native Andean Caribbean bean varieties, which should prove to be the source of many valuable traits.

Resumen
Several studies about web bligh control were carried out in Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. The pathogen´s genetic variability, bean varietal tolerance, chemical control, and sowing densities were evaluated. In Panama yield was increased through Benomyl applications and a greater sowing density. In the Dominican Republic Rhizoctonia AG 4, AG 2 2 and AG 1 groups were found. Several bean genotypes were evaluated, as well as populations from the web blight tolerant JB X MUS 14 cross. Between 20% and 40 % web blight severity was found in Costa Rica. Coverage and application of chemicals improved bean yield.

Resumen
The admission of Costa Rica into the World Trade Organization, and the subscription of the Bilateral Free Trade Agreement with Mexico and the agreements with other Central American countries brought about important changes in bean commercialization in Costa Rica. This partly resulted in the creation of CCCRL as an alternative for bean commercialization. Operation and viability of this Consortium are analyzed under the new conditions for the commercialization of agricultural and arming products, both at a national and international level. Agroecological crop conditions are also examined, as well as the socio-economic and cultural characteristics of the population involved in bean production, and their possible influence on CCCRL viability.

Resumen
This article exposes the problem of violence in Latin American societies through the representation found in a series of novels first published in the 90s. The analysis focused on two detective novels: Enigma de los cuerpos (1995) by Peter Elmore, Satanás (2002) by Mario Mendoza and three narco-novels: Corazón de Kaláshnikov (2009), El reino de las moscas (2012) and Música para perros (2013) by Alejandro Páez Varela. These texts consider the situation of the protagonists-victims of the criminalized novel through anarrative perspective regarding limited, clearly-defined territories, such as Lima in PeterElmore’s novel, Bogotá in Mario Mendoza’s and Ciudad Juárez in Páez Varela’s.

Resumen
César Vallejo and Pablo Neruda smoked opium when they are writing Trilce (1922) and Residence on Earth (1935), respectively. There is no mention of the drug in their poetry collections, but both wrote literary texts telling their narcotic experience: a short-story in Vallejo; confessions and memoirs, in Neruda. The two poets also described the opium as a door to Asia, its customs and people. Through an analysis of Vallejo´s short story, “Cera”, included in Escalas Melografiadas (1923) and Neruda´s poem “El opio en el Este”, included in Memorial de Isla negra (1964), this paper investigates, on the one hand, the aesthetic´s concepts revealed thru the relationships between opium and the writing of these poets, and on the other hand, the connections thru opium with the Asia ad way to define the political views of the poets.

Resumen
In contemporary thought, is often meant to conceive the constitution of subjectivity and subjectification process in discursive terms. This article explores a perspectival view of discursive subjectification, according to which the subjective construction of enunciation is revealed when the subject of enunciation is not explicitly a thematic subject in the statement, but remains implicit as the viewpoint focusing enunciation. From that perspectivalstandpoint of discursive subjectification, we propose a dialogue between the discourse that, in our culture, have tried to articulate a writing of the self (like confession), and a kind of subjectification more impersonal which preserves the intimate space and the vanishing point of enunciation, namely, the subject of enunciation, without over-exposing him.

Resumen
The article proposes to examine and analyze a series of figures to violence in a narrative corpus of literary fiction-novels and stories published in Argentina between 1995 and 2005, in the timing of passage that can be named as an end or change centuries-making focus on the link between violence and everyday life under neoliberalism. It seeks so to size, from a symptomatic reading of these selected narratives, productive logics of power and violence in ostensibly non-use of force domains, in situations in which they insinuate themselves as potential latency or punishment: violence in market, speech and technology are some of those privileged places of exercise and playing the imperatives of neoliberal ideology both in its objective dimension and all its subjective consequences.

Resumen
The present article analyzes the different interpretive possibilities of Heidegger´s Der Ursprung des Kunstwerkes conference, with the purpose of clarifying the reasons and the sense of the heideggerian´s boarding of artistic phenomenon in the decade of thirty. In this way, the work exposes an analytical route centred on Plato’s rereading that the author takes forward in 1931, trying to establish a correspondence between art, politics and philosophy. To take to end the proposed aims, they turn out to be nodose to dismount and to arrange the different drafts of the conference, as well as his attachés and epilogues.

Resumen
This paper attempts to show that the status of music in Jacques Derrida’s work offers a rigorous account of the figure of Self-Affection. If voice is the exemplary model of Self- Affection, as a space in which a Self ensures the stability of his presence, Derrida’s development of music as an experience of an impossible appropriation suggests a restatement of the self-affective voice. Self-Affection, as the possibility of subjectivity, would no longer be a homogeneous space enclosed on itself, but rather a spacing which establishes and prevents at the same time the monologue of voice.
