Resumen
Through analysis of the Liberation Army’ bands of freedmen, this paper seeks to visualize the wide and varied participation of blacks, both enslaved and free sectors, during the Wars of Independence and at the same time to investigate their contribution in the gestation of a transnational republican rhetoric. Music, musicians and the corresponding bands, are a privileged window to examine what kind of possibilities war and revolution gave to the African descendent sectors to function in the republican public spheres as active political subjects. At the same time, the paper explores their contribution, either as authors and performers of patriotic music in the formation, consolidation and circulation of discourses and representations linked to the search for a new collective identity.

Resumen
The following paper deals with the phase of construction and implementation of the Female Correctional System in Córdoba (Argentina) through the case-study of the Female Prison and the House of the Buen Pastor between 1892-1910. This correctional project, which was administered by the Order of the Buen Pastor, stood aside from the punitive modernization. While it is possible to identify elements of reformist prison in the institution, we believe it presents, mostly, remnants of the administration of pre-modern way of punishment. In order to inquire into the features of this correctional project the research focused on the study of two main dimensions: the social universe and the institutional logic.

Resumen
Mathematics, as a social and cultural construct, is not an ahistorical and enduring entity, but is subject to developments and vicissitudes of human communities from which they arose. Therefore, for its historiographical reconstruction, the task of interpretation of the historian is necessary. In this paper, we propose an interpretation of mathematics in Ancient Egypt based in the theoretical assumptions of cultural history and anthropology of mathematics, which together characterize the research program of Ethnomathematics. For this, we will take as a documentary source of reference to Moscow Mathematical Papyrus. Given the great diversity of problems that arise there, we will focus on one particular type: No. 10, concerning the calculation of the area of a solid figure that in the Egyptian language is designated as nbt.

Resumen
The following work is an approach to the way militancy and social struggles are intertwined in Neuquén (Argentina) during the ‘80s. Three social actors were inquired by means of interviews and unpublished documents: Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, activists connected to the Church of Neuquén and members of the Chilean community living in Neuquén. This work seeks to characterize the period, marked by the so called “transition to democracy” and to show the particularities in relation to forms of collective action, prelude to the unsettled ‘90s in the region.
