Resumen
The essay proposes an analysis of the relationship between text and images in Informe sobre ciegos (1991) by Alberto Breccia. In his obstinate renunciation to unnecessary words, or surplus signs, and by employing graphic devices that convey a "telluric and formless" world, Breccia interprets and illustrates – without making it comprehensible – the self-destructive delirious state of Fernando Vidal, one of the most controversial and fascinating characters in Argentinian literature. In particular, the essay focuses on the conspiracy – at the level of both form and content – and on the graphic (un)translatability of his delirium.

Resumen
With his curious argot, the South American Indian tehuelche Patoruzú is still today the most famous comic character of Argentina. Born at the beginning of 1930s by Dante Rául Quinterno, “the pampas' superhero” with his incredible strength and open-heartedness has become a cultural icon. Its success is due to the ability of its illustrator to create a series whose protagonists lack an accurate definition because they embody the complexity of an eterogeneous society. A stylised trait of great visual impact and expressivity, Quinterno's comic spread a moral message that met the public approval (of both children and adults) ready to identify with the conservative and patriotic values of Patoruzú.

Resumen
Cristina Peri Rossi concentrates her poetic expression upon corporality, with desire entailed and constructs an open literary text, of rizomatic style, in relation with other extra -‐‑ literary texts in the poem Las musas inquietantes. Peri Rossi realizes an ekphrastic pro cess that enables a study of the poetic text in intermedial relation with plastic arts, not just as a description or a verbal representation. We demostrate how the ecphrastic process generates significations and aesthetics which amplify the visual into the verbal expression as new expressive synthesis.

Resumen
In this essay we will analyze the relationship between text and image within the work of the Mexican cartoonist Eduardo del Río (Rius), to show how both text and image are capable of representing Mexico’s present and past. In his work, Rius establishes a contrapuntal relationship between realistic and satirical images, as well as between historical texts and personal interpretation. Through a combination of tragic and humoristic register, Rius’s comic is transformed from a simple product of the mass culture, to a fundamental instrument of criticism and political opposition to the dominant ideology.

Resumen
The present article discusses the importance of detail in the figuration of the Spaniard painter rooted in nineteenth-century Brazil, Modesto Brocos y Gomes (1852-1936). Resumen
The article deals with transnational migrations at the Present Time. The author has employed analytically the category of “border” in his field research undertaken, from 2000 to 2004, in Brazil, USA and Mexico. As a result, a historical narrative with dramatic overtones unfolds against the background of Mexican-US border crossing. However, the undocumented immigration of Brazilians through the Mexican border into the USA has declined sharply due latter country economic crisis in 2008. Yet in this article, we seek to study thoroughly the period prior to the US economic downturn aiming to understand the current trends of Brazilian migration in the US through the Mexican border. Lastly, the results for the period selected were achieved through interviews, writing sources and a carefully selected bibliography.

Resumen
Alberto Breccia has been one of the fathers of twentieth century graphic narrative. Author of key works as El Eternauta (1969), his forays into the world of literature have been frequent since his début. At the end of his life, Breccia turned into comic the Informe sobre ciegos, central and autonomous chapter of Sobre héroes y tumbas (1961) by Ernesto Sabato. This work will analyse the dialogue that the graphic genius of Breccia establishes with the tormented Sabato’s voice, enriching the meaning of one of the most controversial passages of recent Latin American literature.

Resumen
This article aims to address the disappearance and the specific closure of myth as metaphysical background in Los Detectives Salvajes by Roberto Bolaño; this closure is represented in the novel by the avant-garde poet Cesárea Tinajero, a character that emerges as a concrete life, lost in history, with more courage against systemic or ethical strength, than magical properties that connect with spiritual or religious statements.

Resumen
Basque Country is a territory that occupies the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula, bordering the Bay of Bizkaia. In the nineteenth century was not lacking in the Basque Country who predicted that the Basque language not reach the twentieth century. In the twentieth century there was also reiterating such a forecast, but deferring the XXI century. Apart from such apocalyptic omens, it is clear that the Basque language, rather the community of speakers expressed in Basque, registered over recent decades major breakthroughs in order not only to survive, but to revitalization.
