Resumen
The text provides an overview of the current reality of the Catalan language with a brief historical reference. During the post-Franco transition and Spain's accession to the European Communities it seemed possible to reach an egalitarian multilingualism, which reflects the Universal Declaration of Linguistic Rights (Barcelona, 1996). At the beginning of the XXI century this hope is focused on the draft Statute of Autonomy of 2005. Its rejection by a judgment of 2010 of the Constitutional Court questioned the possibility of an equal status without political independence.

Resumen
This article discusses the use of the phrase "plural Spain" throughout history. Regardless of the cultural and linguistic diversity background related to the different nationalities in Spain, the article covers how this phrase has been used in the last decades and, therefore, what its prospect is. This prospect is confirmed by the title given to the “Bologna Conference".

Resumen
The anonymous grammar published in 1559 in Leuven provides an overview of the various languages spoken at that time in the Iberian Peninsula. The grammar presented the languages in a hierarchical order, based especially on the age, establishing the line Basque-Arab-Catalan- Spanish, which is not labeled as such but as vulgar language of Spain. The text provides significant exposure, although imperfect and somewhat confusing, of Iberian linguistic plurality on the mid-sixteenth century. This article presents and contextualizes the statements appeared in the anonymous work in the debate of the time in which it was published.

Resumen
This article analyze some of the characteristics of the narrative of Javier Pérez Andújar in the press, blog or novels. His writing, in any of these supports, is characterized by a constant play with language, remembering the baroque writing, and the humor, sentimentality and commitment of popular culture. Pérez Andújar’s writing is always an autobiographical revision that is built between dissent and reconciliation with the environment.

Resumen
A general overview of Catalan writer Albert Sánchez Piñol’s work, serves as a prologue to excerpts of the conversation with him that took place in the Aula Magna at the Università di Bologna on October 31, 2014. Sánchez Piñol is a unique writer in the Catalan literary scene for two reasons: he writes books that are real page-turners, and he has managed to successfully introduce the fantastic in Catalan literature. More recently his interest has moved to historical novel closely related to contemporary political events.

Resumen
This article analizes the representation of the historical memory of the Spanish post-Civil War in five novels of Alfons Cervera (1995-2005), republished with the title of Las voces fugitivas in 2013, paying attention to contemporary changes in the literary discourse. This change is based on the rupture of the Manichean pattern when portraying the events of the post-Civil War, expressed in Cervera’s novels through multiple points of views and narrative voices that collaborate in the creation of plural and polyphonic novels.

Resumen
Landero ́s characters live in a common world, aspire to the sublime and fall into the grotesque, revealed by the deformation, but not degradation, of their humanity; they never lose their dignity, however ridiculous the experiences they must face may be, because the author mixes all three ingredients (routine, sublimation and grotesque) in the same amount; because of their stubborn pursuit of their desires; because author, character and reader share the same inanity. Thus, Landero achieves a kind of grotesque which we shall denominate compassionate grotesque.

Resumen
Along history, Galician language has passed through golden and dark ages. Its speakers have been victims of a marginalization that took them to a deep situation of diglossia. Its survival is threatened, even getting to the situation of non-transmission of the language within the family. Since the instauration of democracy, the passing of the Statute of Autonomy, the Linguistic Normalization Law and the General Plan for the Normalization of Galician Language, the language has official recognition, but it is still far from being in a position of full social and institutional normalization.
