Resumen
After a quick survey of the rules about the art of kissing in the courtly love tradition and in the French artes amandi of the Middle Ages, this paper focuses on the moral rules about the kiss diffused in the books by the grey friar Francesc Eiximenis (1327-1409). The discussion about the kiss in chapter 176 of the Tirant lo Blanc –a medieval chivalric romance written by Joanot Martorell between 1460 and 1468– is approached through the contrast between Eiximenis' moral rules and the profan rules. As a result of this analysis a better understanding of the ideas and attitudes of the romance heroes is achieved.

Resumen
The study of the evolution of humanism and Renaissance within the Catalan speaking area has not paid enough attention to the process of innovation and adaptation of Latin grammar and rethoric. It is the author's conclusion that the work of the Valentian Joan Esteve Liber elegantiarum (1489) is, to a great extent, a re-ordering of the matters discussed in Rudimenta gramatices (1473) by N. Perotti (1429-1480).

Resumen
This article first surveys the use of the first person in medieval writing, showing its literary worth, and establishing the validity of this approach to Catalan literature. Secondly, it is suggested that Catalan fourteenth century noves rimades are a genre in which a substantial amount of creativity and empirical circumstance were virtually unavoidable, at least when written in a courtly environment. Both these general points of view provide the framework for a close analysis of Pere March's noves. Special attention is given to his merging of a wide range of literary traditions that interact with his different personae, either to build up courtly divertimenti (Lo compte final, Lo mal d'amor) or to epitomise chivalric culture (L'arnés del cavaller).

Resumen
By studying step by step, from beginnig to end, Father Fullana's grammatical studies, Prof. Simbor offers the reader the possibility of following the ideological evolution of this outstanding Valencian grammarian during three main periods: A unitarian one (1902-1915), a secessionist one (1915-1932), and a final one (1932-1948), when, after being the first to accept and to sign the unitarian ortography of Castelló de la Plana, he seems to have closed the process by accepting P. Fabra's proposals.
