Resumen
This article retrieves Horacio Quiroga’s technical primitivism as a kind of relationship with technology
that transcends technophilic fascination and technophobic fatalism. We identify important resonances
with a paradigmatic essay by Beatriz Sarlo, which recovers primitivism at the hype of globalization. Lastly, we seek to move beyond Sarlo and highlight the continued relevance of primitivism against a post-neoliberal background, through an analytic of the main theories about technics. Against the instrumental disposition of the “early adopters” of technological innovation, we claim that primitivism embodies a truly critical stance, founded upon an aesthetic contact with the reality of things.

Resumen
This paper describes a part of the results from the doctoral research “Practices in SNS: audiovisual fiction for identity construction”. In the following pages, you can find a theoretical argument about digital duality or the difference between the conversation inside the screen and outside it, having as starting point the interaction of users with television series. The research used a mixed-qualitative methodology, modifying Grounded Theory and using triangulation as a central tool for data gathering.
Theory of Practice (Reckwitz, 2002) was in the bases of the analysis. The conclusions show that for the group of people within the research, there’s no such thing as an average from their material life and what’s happening in SNS.

Resumen
This work reflects the views and opinions of various stakeholders of an educational community about
two dimensions of analysis: Community and communicative/cultural.
The research, which takes as its general context the current scenario of liquid modernity by Zygmunt
Bauman, shows that there are few social bonds between the people and that the community,
understood from the bonds of solidarity, it is weak in the cases studied. In addition, the research seeks to analyze discourses on uses of new media to socialize and build new communities that run in parallel with the school community, revealing that interest groups or “aesthetic communities” are transverse in all the levels of the chilean school system

Resumen
Femicide cases in Chile are highlighted in television news programs due to their heavy emotional impact but also because these dramatic stories are easily organized in a specific narrative and serve as proposals for social discipline. The narrative coverage of femicide cases in Chilean broadcasting was analyzed following a semiotic and qualitative frame. The femicides occurred between January and June 2007 and which were covered by Chilean TV news were include on the sample. The analysis is founded on a critical approach, audiovisual semiotic and gender perspective. The article reveals the way in which theses news items are framed, the underlying assumptions about them and how the TV news try to restore the social order. Finally, this is a reading of the content production aired and not about the audiences’ strategies to consume and receive broadcast content.

Resumen
This paper explores the way that Arturo Ripstein’s film recreates the stereotype of Medea. Using film analysis and based on cultural studies the article asks about the importance and potential power of cinema to recover the ancient myth and show their effects. The analysis expands horizons for the understanding of the mechanisms that link the network of meanings of the film, where the author offers a new vision of Medea's archetype bringing it closer from television formats and popular culture. Medea became in this film the warrior against the symbolic violence.
