Resumen
Two studies about development and validation of an instrument to assess resentment in young people are presented. The first one included 60 juvenile offenders, half of whom were considered resentful and the other half were not considered resentful by experts that work with them. An instrument of 74 items validated by experts was developed and was applied to the participants. Item analyses were performed, resulting in a 36 item scale. This resulting scale had good reliability and clearly discriminated between resentful and not resentful young. In the second study, the scale was reconfigured, composed by 40 items and was applied to a representative sample of 575 high school students. Factor analysis of the results yielded 3 factors consistent with the operationalization of the construct: reaction to injustice, vindictive and appreciation, although the amount of explained variance is only moderate. It is concluded that the instrument is valid to assess resentment in young people.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to evaluate the psychometric properties of Ryff´s Scales of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB) in Argentinean sample. For this, van Dierendonck version of 39 items and Díaz et al. version of 29 items, were used. Participants in this study included 396 students. Based in previous findings, six models were tested using confirmatory factor analysis. None of these models showed adequate goodness of fit to the data. To improve the psychometric properties, a new version is proposed. Several exploratory factor analyses were performed. The results of these analyses showed a 3 factor solution conformed by: (a) Autonomy; (b) Positive relationships and; (c) Competence. This version exhibited better internal consistency coefficients and a good fit to the data.

Resumen
The effects of pre-reading skills and family context at the beginning of literacy have significant implications for both theoretical advances and for educational practices related to the acquisition of literacy. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between the development of pre-reading skills, understood in terms of emergent literacy, family literacy context and the beginning of literacy in a sample of 56 preschool children. To assess lexical knowledge, metaphonological skills, naming speed and letter recognition, different tests were used, as well as a questionnaire to study the family literacy context of the participating children. The results show a significant relationship between pre-reading skills and the beginning of literacy acquisition as well as the importance of family literacy practices.

Resumen
This article examines the incidence of the burnout syndrome among Uruguayan teachers. A sample of 279 secondary school teachers, who work in public schools in Montevideo, completed questionnaires about: burnout syndrome, personality, life events, areas of working life, turnover intentions and sociodemographic data. The results show that 4.2% of the teachers surveyed had elevated levels of burnout syndrome and 42% obtained high values in at least one dimension of the syndrome. The characteristics displayed by the educators who scored higher on the scale of burnout syndrome are the following: the female gender, high number of weekly hours of work, little seniority in the profession, lack of educational training and work in up to two schools. The job-person fit, the type A behavior, stressful life events and turnover intentions correlated significantly with burnout syndrome.

Resumen
This research explores the relationship between feeling function (Jung, 1921; Millon, 2001) with positive and negative affect (Watson et al. 1988) and the expansion-preservation motivational goals (Millon, 2001) in a sample of 200 college students from Uruguay. The feeling function and expansion-preservation are studied through Millon Inventory of Personality Styles [MIPS] (Millon, 2001) and the positive and negative affect through the Positive and Negative Affect Scale [PANAS] (Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988). The PANAS has recently been translated and adapted to Uruguay. The results show an inverse correlation between feeling function and positive affect. However, the results do not show a correlation with negative affect nor with expansion and preservation.

Resumen
The research focuses on the importance of the family life cycle and its relationship with different contexts in order to gain psychological understanding about families. Using the Double ABC-X Model of Family Stress and Adaptation, an empirical study was done with 114 families from Montevideo. The aims of the study were to learn about stressors and family coping strategies of families in the early stages of the family life cycle, taking into account the possible differences associated with socioeconomic contexts. The results showed that the families in the two stages studied reported similar stressors and coping strategies. Low-income families reported more stressors and higher use of internal coping strategies. The pile-up of stressors and passive appraisal were identified as vulnerability factors for low-income families with school-age children.

Resumen
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the “Personality Belief Questionnaire-short form” (Beck & Beck, 1991) in its Spanish version validated in Colombia by Londoño et al. (2012). The PBQ-SF measures core dysfunctional beliefs related to personality disorders: antisocial, narcissist, histrionic, border, dependent, avoidant, obsessive-compulsive, passive-aggressive, paranoid and schizoid. A sample of 523 Uruguayan university students in Montevideo completed the questionnaire. The findings showed good internal consistency and a high correlation between the scales. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) indicates more similitude than differences with the original instrument. Results provide the basis for carrying out future confirmatory factor analysis.

Resumen
The aim of this study was to assess the family functioning of those with a member diagnosed with eating Disorder (ED) and to compare with normative families according with the circumflex model. Sixteen Uruguayan families with a member in rehabilitation were assessed. Results suggest that these families showed in terms of the circumflex model less cohesion and flexibility, and a chaotic, disengaged, enmeshed, rigid functioning with difficulties in communication and less family satisfaction, compared with the normative families. Differences in parents and the rest of the family member perceptions of the family functioning have been found considering the role. These results present to the clinicians the need to work with all the family system in order to approach the ED.

Resumen
This study has as main objective to investigate Jungian typology from the results of the Briggs-Myers Typology Inventory Form G, (1995) in a sample of patients with Depressive Disorder, analyzing in turn, relations with Depressive Personality and different Clinical Patterns of Personality. Starting with a sample of 82 patients with clinical diagnosis of Depressive Disorder, we studied first the typological pattern and its behavior in relation to depression. Second, the Relationship between typology and the different Clinical Patterns of Personality and third, we compared the typology of patients with and without Depressive Personality. Results show that patients with Depressive Disorder (BDI-I, 1979) and in most Clinical Patterns of Personality (MCMI-III,2007) have a clear preference for Introversion over Extroversion and for Sensation over Intuition. As severity of Depression increases, the preference for Introversion also increases.
