Resumen
Introduction. Universidad Pedagógica Nacional "Francisco Morazán" (UPNFM) published the registry of postgraduate thesis defenses between 2002 and 2016. This study analyzed the scientific production through academic’s thesis from master programs of the UPNFM, based on the implementation of institutional research areas. Methods. A database was developed which included the variables master's program, research area, subject and thesis advisors. Data was processed and analyzed using frequency distributions and chi-square test. Results. A total of 365 thesis records were analyzed. Four master's programs represented 63.3% of the total theses defended: education management (20.3%), educational research (16.2%), curriculum (14.5%) and training of trainers (12.3%). A total of 64% of the theses were concentrated in two of the five institutional research areas: training and teaching profession and quality and equity of education. According to chi-square statistics, the possibility that the proportion found on research areas had a random distribution was rejected. From 126 university professors, who advised the theses, some had another university’ affiliation. Conclusion. A marked trend was identified towards educator´s training and access to education. Publication and use of the results reported in the UPNFM thesis are needed, since they are not available in indexed on international databases or repositories.

Resumen
Introduction. A construction project includes diverse processes, which indicate its legality and work safe development. This study evaluated the knowledge about permissive documentation, e.g., construction permits and environmental license, of the construction sector in an urban city in Honduras. Methods. A non-probabilistic sample was used, then, a knowledge survey was implemented of construction permits and environmental licensing for urban projects, as well as of environmental impacts, dimensions, and research relevance. The study population was 60 construction and environment professionals. Results. A total of 81.7% of participants had never processed a construction permit, 12.2% did not have knowledge of the process and 6.1% considered it complicated. Likewise, 91.7% had never carried out an environmental license, 14.6% did not have knowledge of the process, and 5.5% considered it complicated. Conclusion. There were high percentages of lack of knowledge about the necessary processes to obtain construction permits and environmental licenses in the construction sector in an urban city in Honduras. This could be explained by the fact that such paperwork is not part of the professionals´ daily responsibilities; so, they may not have knowledge of the process, or they may consider it complex.

Introduction. COVID-19 constitutes a global public health crisis, with education being one of the most affected social sectors. This study described the acceptance of virtual education platforms by the educational trinomial (family, student, teacher) of an educational center. Methods. A mixed methods study was implemented, with a probabilistic sample of 98 participants in an educational center in northern Honduras. A quantitative survey was applied to collect demographic data and knowledge on technological literacy knowledge by the students and parents. Qualitative semistructured interviews were applied to 21 teachers, and 98 parents or students in order to evaluate their E-learning perceptions, as well as to a panel of eight experts. The experts evaluated four E-learning platforms: Microsoft Teams for Education, Moodle, ClassroomApp y EduBox through a weighting table from 1 to 5. The study was carried out from April to October in 2020. Results. The use of technologies for virtual classes was 69.0% by preschool and first basic cycle students. The ClassroomApp platform had the highest score (3.74 out of 5.00), while EduBox had the lowest score (3.35). Conclusion. ClassroomApp best adapted to the needs of an educational center in northern Honduras, with the highest score, given by the expert panel, based on quality indicators.

Resumen
Introduction. Educational centers may contribute to ventures that accelerate a country´s economic activity. This study described attributes, values, and characteristics of CEUTEC-UNITEC university entrepreneurs in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Methods. A descriptive study was conducted, with a convenience sample of 379 students. Students were selected according to their availability and whether they were part of entrepreneurship courses or courses with a high enrollment. The questionnaire included questions directed to entrepreneur characteristics and attributes, as well as barriers and influences during the entrepreneurship generation. The questionnaire was validated by a pilot test to five people and applied for 2 weeks in April 2015. Results. A high percentage reported an entrepreneurship spirit: responsible (91%), passionate and perseverant (88%) and autonomous (81%). Likewise, a low percentage of healthy self-esteem was reported by the students (7%). A total of 85% indicated that their career supported them to develop entrepreneurship skills, while entrepreneurship obstacles were reported: fear of risk (83%), lack of a plan (79%) and low economic resources (78%). The university influenced in a major way the student´s entrepreneurship in only 4% of the ventures. Conclusion. The university may encourage students in entrepreneurial processes, through technical support and training, to develop their self-esteem and entrepreneurial skills.

Resumen
Introduction. Honduras has a high level of violence in Latin America. This study analyzed crime and policing incidents at the municipal level in Honduras from 2013 to 2020. Methods. Data from the Online Police Statistical System of the 298 municipalities over a period of 8 years were used, and geospatial, correlation, principal component (PCA) and factorial (AF) analyzes were performed. Results. The Central District and San Pedro Sula are the municipalities with the highest number of incidents. The trend in the period was a decrease in reports of abortions, homicides, stabbing or firearm injuries, undetermined deaths, police deaths, abductions, kidnappings, rapes and attempts. The incidences that increased were traffic accidents and their injuries or deaths, injuries with a blunt weapon, peaceful or violent demonstrations, accidental deaths, deaths by suspension, injured police officers, and suicides. There were significant levels of correlation between the different incidences, e.g., accidental deaths, due to traffic accidents, undetermined deaths and abortions, as well as the ability of the applied PCA to reduce dimensions from 20 incidences to only 2, 3 or 4 components. Conclusion. The correlations showed groups of police incidents concentrated in the urban areas of the country. A multidimensional behavior of the variables was observed, whose attention would contribute to population peace and security through preventive and corrective measures.

Resumen
Introduction. Revista Ariel was a means of diffusion published during the period of "The Cold War'', promulgating the ideas about the emancipation process of Latin America and social change, from a strong component of nationalism. It was a benchmark in the debate on anti-imperialist thought from which it worked on concepts such as: patriotism, independence, influence -domination and liberation- of foreign capital. Case presentation. The journal focused on the reminiscence of the thought of anti-imperialist intellectuals, who published their position against the lines of submission and economic dependence. This article is about writings published in Revista Ariel between 1964 and 1968, under its third stage and the direction of Medardo Mejía. Discussion. The essays were focused from the cultural, social, political, and economic fields. The idea of liberation and true independence was widely questioned by the different writings presented in each edition. Conclusion. The ideas expressed by the authors in Revista Ariel during the period under study, were made from the anti-imperialist perspective, highlighting strong denunciations of the ruling elite during the period of military governments in Honduras from 1964-1968.

Resumen
Hurricanes Eta and Iota in November 2020 caused flooding and landslides in the municipality of San Manuel, department of Cortés, Honduras. The satellite image of Google Earth shows eight breaks in the Ulúa riverbed. Breaks 4 to 8 (box 1) affected populated areas and banana plantations. Box 2 shows a landslide at Cerro El Zate related to a crack approximately 200 meters long and 2 meters deep. This indicates high vulnerability and risk in the area, especially in the face of new natural disasters.

Resumen
In 1966, a study called “Draw-A-Scientist” was carried out for the first time, in which girls and boys were asked to draw “a scientific person”. The results were impressive, 99.4% of the drawings featured a man as a scientist. Since then the DAST (Draw-A-Scientist Test) has been repeated more than 80 times in the United States and more than 20,000 drawings have been collected. The percentage of women represented in the drawings has been increasing, but there are still biases that deserve our attention.

Resumen
Honduras has legislation and institutions that must protect and guarantee that the human rights of children and adolescents are fulfilled. However, many children and adolescents do not receive quality education and health. At an early age they begin work that deprives their childhood and experience violence and migration. The State and society must show solidarity and contribute to a national plan that can reverse the crisis in Honduran children and adolescents.

Resumen
Introduction. The electronic medical portfolio is part of the formative evaluation that allows the educator to adapt their didactic process to the needs of their students. It also promotes effective formative feedback that helps create horizontal relationships between educators and students. The aim of this review was to describe the use of medical portfolios and their impact on medical training. Methods. A review of the literature in PubMed and Scielo was carried out, including articles and studies on the topic, published in English and Spanish, ranging from 2012 to 2022. Discussion. Medical Education in Latin America, especially in Honduras, relies heavily on summative assessment as a prevalent evaluation method. In countries like the United States and some in Europe where the student portfolio is used, it has thrived and been accepted by both educators and students, generating a positive impact on their learning. Conclusion. The implementation of the medical portfolio in Honduras is a viable and an appropriate process that will allow the pre-existing traditional academic culture to be innovated. Its multiple advantages such as encouraging a complete evaluation through feedback from superiors and peers, in addition to ongoing training and improvement of the student's practical skills, place it as an essential tool for medical education.
