The objective of the research was to design curricular adaptations based on Information and Communication Technologies for students with special educational needs. It was carried out in the Educational Unit of the Provincial Council of Carchi, Ecuador, with a qualitative, descriptive, transversal and field methodology. An interview was conducted with eight elementary school teachers and a representative of the Student Counseling Department to determine the special educational needs of a study group of 60 students, as well as the relevance of curricular planning. The findings identified several deficiencies in 16 students such as difficulty in Mathematics, reading and writing problems, behavioral disorders, autism and mild intellectual disability. In addition, it was evidenced that there is no relevance in the didactic planning that includes curricular adaptations related to special educational needs. Based on this, digital tools and strategies for students with special educational needs are proposed in order to strengthen pedagogical practice and contribute to learning, inclusion and development of skills in these students. This study emphasizes that curricular adaptations for special educational needs are an alternative for priority attention to students with various limitations.

Logical mathematical reasoning is a powerful tool that can be applied in various areas of life, from solving everyday problems to making important decisions. Its application helps us develop fundamental cognitive skills and face challenges more efficiently. The objective is for students to recognize that numbers, operations and figures are interrelated contents and processes that are present in everyday life and that it is necessary to develop skills to expand their reasoning capacity. The present research is of a descriptive documentary type, and is based on the strategies of the constructivist theory of learning, where Piaget states that the individual acquires his knowledge from the preliminary information he already possesses and from the interaction with the environment in which he develops.  The results of the qualitative diagnostic evaluation of the students at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year are discouraging. We can conclude that the students show difficulties, lack of interest and lack of motivation in solving the exercises.

Objective: To evaluate the perception of internal medicine residents in Latin American countries regarding compliance with the academic program, workload, impact on personal life, salary, academic information sources, and the occurrence of various misconducts by superiors. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used, including internal medicine residents from Latin America who completed a survey in a Google form. Data analysis involved the use of means, standard deviations, and percentages. Results: A total of 566 internal medicine residents were included from eighteen countries participated, 53.70% were women, and 79.70% were single. Average years since graduation: 5.18 ± 2.81. Choosing internal medicine as the first option was reported by 79.20%. Only 25.30% confirmed that the theoretical class program was fully completed, and 20% stated that only 50.00% of the scheduled hours were fulfilled. About 48.10% were unaware of the program’s objectives. A total of 61.60% reported no facilities to conduct research during their training. Average rest hours are 5.35 ± 1.2 on a regular day and 2.1 ± 1.5 on a call day. 68.60% have two weekly calls, and 20.70% have three. Additionally, 67.50% do not have post-call rest. As for medical errors, 76.50% acknowledged some form of error during practice, attributing these to lack of knowledge (77.00%) and fatigue/exhaustion (76.70%). Also, 53.00% experienced some form of verbal aggression and 44% public humiliation, with 4% reporting sexual aggression. Humiliating tasks were reported by 31.40% and unfair or disproportionate sanctions by 37%. A very intense workload was reported by 40.30% and intense by 43.30%, which impacts family life for 75.00% and mood for 79%. About 41.00% did not have adequate dormitories in their training environment. Over 50% of the residents’ salary did not cover 100% of their total expenses. Less than 60.00% of the residents surveyed had access to a physical library, virtual library, current journals, and diagnostic databases. Conclusions: Residents report a negative perception regarding the fulfillment of their academic program, workload, impact on personal life, salaries, academic information sources, and the frequency of inappropriate behaviors by supervising doctors or higher-ranking residents.

Objective: To study the quality of the articulation and management of cases of the treatment of Children and Adolescents victims of violence and sexual abuse in The Dominican Republic. Methodology: Mixed study on the care carried out in the years 2019 and 2020. The Non-Profit Associations professionals who performed the care evaluated in a virtual way the process of attention and articulation of 200 cases through a questionnaire and focus groups. Results: The four Non-Profit Associations differed both in the scope of the target population, as well as in the types of violence addressed, as well as in the interventions, number of sessions, trauma training and multidisciplinary participation. Two Non-Profit Associations, which attended 67% of the cases, reported weak attention, judicial protection and inter-institutional articulation, especially slow and irregular responses from the Public Ministry. Three factors explain the difference in quality between Non-Profit Associations: Direct contacts with authorities, clarity in available national regulations, and provision of human resources. Conclusions: The child protection system in the Dominican Republic continues in the phase of regulation and systematization of intervention strategies and articulation and allocation of minimum resources. It is recommended: 1. Have a national regulation specifying the role of all the actors of the system on the organization of the complaint, judicial protection and treatment of children who are victims of violence and prolonged trauma. 2. Implement the case management process formally as a guiding principle, attributing this role to CONANI. 3. Expand the nationwide presence of child protective services and identify the necessary resources
