Resumen
Introduction. Craniopharyngiomas are regarded as a complex molecular disease, with great neurovascular invasiveness and adherence in the skull base. Objective: to show an endoscopic model of surgical dissection based on new tumoral imagenological classification. Methods. A descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study was performed in 50 patients operated by Extended Endoscopic Endonasal Approach following the rule of 3 of surgical dissection: trianatomic complex exposition, sagittal trilaminar dissection, and axial vascular tripod dissection based on new imagenological classification. Results and discussion. Gross total resection was performed in 90 % of patients and 80 % was incorporated to normal live and work. Surgical complication was minimal, and insipidus diabetes was the most frequent. The disease-free survival during eight years was 81,6 %. Conclusions. Extended Endoscopic Endonasal Approach following the rule of three of surgical dissection represents a paradigm in the craniopharyngioma treatment.

Resumen
Introduction. This paper focuses on the synthesis, physicochemical characterization, bioactivity evaluation, and innovative applications of new biohybrid nanomaterials. Sepiolite is a nanofibrous natural silicate that represents a very attractive nanocarrier for nucleic acids delivery into cells, among other innovative applications in life sciences and biotechnology. Methods. The physicochemical characterization and the bioactivity evaluation of biohybrids were performed using advanced techniques and procedures, including AFM, TEM, Confocal Microscopy, TLVM, FTIR, Z-potential measurements, UV-vis, FACS, Western blot, RT-qPCR, among others. Results. New biohybrids were obtained, based on the assembly of nucleic acids with sepiolite nanofibers. The mechanisms of cell internalization and response to sepiolite exposure were proposed. We demonstrated that sepiolite is a promising nanocarrier for the non-viral and stable transfer of plasmid DNA into bacteria, mammalian and human cells, with an optimized efficiency. Due to its ability to bind various biomolecules, sepiolite could be used as a nanocarrier for the simultaneous vectorization of diverse biological molecules, including proteins, nucleases and antibodies. In addition, we obtain new protocols for both, strongly improving bacterial transformation efficiency, and to extract plasmids from bacteria, in a rapid, convenient and inexpensive method that doesn’t require competent cell preparation, representing an advantageous alternative to onerous commercial kits. As a conclusion, Because of the low cost of sepiolite, its low toxicity, its natural fluorescence, the ease and convenience of sepiolite/DNA synthesis methods, the possibilities of improving the transfection efficiency and additional enticing future developments, sepiolite represents a very attractive nanoplatform for potential applications in nanomedicine and nanobiotechnology.

Resumen
Introduction. The study of inequalities and their relationship with policies during the decade 2008-2018 is located in the context of the process of updating of the Cuban economic and social model. It is assumed the relational, multidimensional, contextualized and complex character of inequalities, from an inter and transdisciplinary perspective. Methods. It was used a mixed research approach with triangulation design, the sources were obtained from the systematization of 366 researches, statistics, documents and official reports corresponding to the period. Eleven databases were built for the qualitative-quantitative analysis of equity dimensions, one for inter-sectional analysis and another for the relationship between policies and equity, using Excel and SPSS version 20.0. The inter-sectional analysis of inequalities is carried out and integrated and inter-sectoral approaches to address multiple inequalities are proposed. Results. The diagnosis of existing social inequalities and inequities in different dimensions - gender, skin color, age, social class, disability, territory, rurality - and areas - economic, housing/habitat, social and cultural participation -, the intersections between them, advantageous and disadvantageous positions, the effects of policies on inequalities, and policies to promote equity and social justice from an inter-sectional approach. Conclusions: The study provides a novel perspective on inequalities and the policies that affect them, and a vision of the population sectors, with a universalism approach that is more sensitive to differences, which is especially important for managing emergency situations, such as the impact of COVID-19.

Resumen
Introduction. Different environmental hazards associated with water converge in Santiago de Cuba, which constitutes a permanent threat to human life and to the socioeconomic development of the province (heavy rains, floods, tropical cyclones, among others). Its study in terms of disaster reduction is a priority for the Cuban State. Objective: Doing a group of research and development actions in order to assess the hazard, vulnerability and risk caused by water in nature, and in water supply systems of Santiago de Cuba province, in the face of the impact of environmental phenomena. Methods.Investigations of a multidisciplinary group structured in three parts are integrated: Studies of hazard, vulnerability and risks (HVR) in water systems of Santiago de Cuba; studies of HVR in watersheds and vulnerability behavior due to the impact of capillarity humidity in buildings from the historical center of Santiago de Cuba city. Results. Tools and solutions to strengthen forecasting and early warning systems for the population and institutions involved. Design of a new procedure for risk management based on the theory of processes, vulnerability studies in water supply systems, and water as a phenomenon of capillarity humidity in buildings. Watersheds diagnostics and flood modeling; the monthly rainfall series for the province was updated, as well as the design of professional software for early warning of extreme hydrometeorological events and community actions to improve risk culture.

Resumen
The objective is to describe the presentation of a rare central nervous system tumor in an immunocompetent patient. Immunocompetent 65 year old patient who starts with transient apraxia, is diagnosed with a brain tumor by radiological studies and a brain biopsy is performed reporting a B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is concluded thatthe primary central nervous system lymphoma in apparently immunocompetent patients without demonstrable autoimmune disease occurs in 0,3 % to 1,5 % of brain tumors. Diagnosis by magnetic resonance is the method of choice for this pathology, with stereotaxia guided biopsy and immunohistochemistry application.

Resumen
How does one represent sexualities outside of the violence generated by heteronormative, classist and racist frameworks? What optical and sound devices must be invented? Are we responsible to build a sense of agency? A double logic will guide this reflection, which is conceived as a tribute to the critical epistemological work of Albertina Carri. I will evaluate her responses to the challenges that these questions pose, considering them according to the chronological order of her works. Given that the temporality of her career is framed within the temporality of feminist and queer struggles —in Argentina and in the world— her cinematographic, performative and audiovisual proposals must be analyzed in this context as political interventions contributing to shaping this context.

This paper studies the use of the pornographic image in the work of María Cañas (1972), one of the great figures of appropriationism in Spanish experimental cinema. Based on the analysis of feminist film theory and criticism, as well as philosophers and sociologists who provide a gender perspective, we will consider whether the films of the self-styled Archivist of Seville —El perfecto cerdo (2005), La cosa nuestra (2006), Down with Reality (2006), Fuera de serie (2012), Sé villana. La Sevilla del diablo (2013), La mano que trina (2015), Expo’Lio 92 (2017), La cosa vuestra (2018) and Padre no nuestro (2019)— can be understood, beyond images stolen from industrial pornography, as examples of a post-pornographic stand that questions the representations and the socioeconomic structures that determine them, denouncing a form of capitalism based on violence and proposing an anti-speciesist feminism that goes through the reappropriation of vulnerable bodies.

Resumen
Ascent to Glory, written by the historian and sociologist Álvaro Santana Acuña, has been applauded by critics and readers as an essential book to understand the global creation and consagration of one of the most important novels of the last century, Cien años de soledad, by Gabriel García Márquez. Ascent to Glory has also been praised for offering new ideas and innovative approaches to topics such as collective creation, the myth of the solitarian and brilliant writter, the process of learning creative skills and hidden humour in classics. Santana Acuña talks about all of these topics and others to Kristine Vanden Berghe, teacher at the Romantic Literature and Language Department in Lieja's University, and author of different articles about García Márquez's works and the Latinoamerican Boom.
