Resumen
Amongst the articles objectives are highlight the significance of implementation and planification of organized curricular schemes and characterize these proposals preceding the institutionalized area consolidation in Costa Rica’s higher education system for learning and teaching the academic’s musical practices throughout the second half of the twentieth century. Some considerations from the recog nized sociologist, Pierre Bourdieu, are used to support the importance of these changing procedures. Bourdieu states in his theory of social spaces that the legitimation and implementation of organized curricular scheme and their corresponding plan of study make conceivable through titulation, validation of a legitimate cultural wealth instituted by hierarchical knowledge that articulates the professional’s profile establishment.

Sinister and Changing Political Model in Costa Rica. Three Plays by Contemporary Female Playwrights.

Resumen
In this text three recent Costa Rican plays of contemporary female writers with political content are analyzed. The plays are analyzed in the light of the notions of the sinister (Schelling, Freud) and what I have elsewhere called the “myth of Costa Rican exceptionalism”. The works considered are: La Loca, Ana Istarú monologue, Dicen las paredes, by Ailyn Morera, y Pentadrama, by Claudia Barrionuevo and Walter Fernández.

Resumen
This article describes three fragmentary images on the origin of the Costa Rican drama from a contemporary point of view. Through these images it is shown that the Costa Rican theater lacks a native mythology, that female production comes late in its history, and that the Costa Rican theater emerges more as a political and a entertainment necessity, than in relation to the development of the national dramatic literature.

In this article, we analyze the relationship between the dramatic text of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the Hollywood film derived from it, Shakespeare in Love, in light of the theoretical contributions of Roland Barthes, Julia Kristeva, Georges Bataille and Octavio Paz, in particular, the love-hate relationship and the presence-absence dialectic partner.

Resumen
Many where the elaborations that the liberal government towards the end of the 19th Century assumed to reinforce the nation’s imaginary. Among these strategies are the national anthems, which are depositaries of the liberal ideals of the First Republic. This article inquires on this intangible monument, a forgotten part of the history of Costa Rica, a history which has been search and founded through different signs other than musical. With this work, in which the literal and musical analysis are intertwined, it is pretended to contribute, in however measure, to continue unraveling the chain of events and signs which constitute the patriotic history

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to analyze three moments that have played a key role in the development of the violinist profession in Costa Rica. The method that was used to evaluate the role played by the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Conservatory of Music, and the Youth Program of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica in the institutionalization of the violinist profession was a descriptive and qualitative analysis, guided by the concepts of field, and capital raised by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu.
