This issue of Alabe´s honors an initiative that started in Jordan. We Love Reading is a non-profit organization that imbues children with a love for reading. It is committed to instilling that passion in order to generate a positive impact that will empower little ones to lead change in the future. With this mission, the project has evolved to reach 60 countries and offer literacy programs to 10,000 children. The method is simple and easy replicable. Local volunteers offer sessions reading aloud in public spaces for children up to 10 years old. The creator, Dr. Rana Dajani, trusts in the “butterfly effect” of learning to transmit passion for reading. This tool will motivate children’s thinking, their tolerance, understanding, and creativity, among other skills, to change the world.

Based on the development of a system representing rhyme, tested successfully in some previous publications, the goal of this innovative educational project is its use in Literature classes, as well as in subjects such as Mathematics or Technology, following an interdisciplinary approach. Also, an exhibition with 3D models of poems from selected authors has been presented. The methodology of this work has been interdisciplinary with contributions from Mathematics (Geometry), Technology (3D design) and of course Literature (study of metrics and the possibilities of representing rhyme in space). Since the opening of the exhibition, the project has worked with different student groups (2nd year of secondary school and 1st year of baccalaureate). These students have learned to deduce the rhyme scheme of the stanza, to draw it following the rules of the system, and to get the basic figures of Spanish poetry. In the next school years the rendering model will be dispersed as much as possible and the project will go deeper into the interdisciplinary activities in the classroom.

Within the field of archetypes of nature, this paper focus on two centers of interest or thematic isotopies: water and light, as archetypes understood from the paradigms of the Social Sciences and therefore linked to memory and cultural heritage. This research examines narratively and holistically said imaginaries, selecting the stories that reveal significant narrative constellations, and from there the interpretive keys are analyzed from various case studies and allusions to markers of these mythical narratives. The ultimate goal is to outline how to use ecological readings and eco-literature as a medium to awaken ecological sensitivity and awareness, and to develop the perception of water, light and air as communal assets to protect and share, linked to local development, and to sustainability.

Ge, Jesús

In his hometown, they call him "the peeker’. As he seems to peek with his little head of a millennial turtle through the foliage of his distinctive neck. From this cosmic watchtower, he seems to glimpse the literary and human world with his bright blue eyes. But he calls himself "the last jongleur" because the minstrel art is where he recognizes himself: that group of actors that knew many verses by heart and that would come and go through the towns. They would recite at the squares, streets, castles,.. “I was born in a place where one would memorize and recite romances and I have continued with these songs. If I had not been born in Vera de Plasencia, I would not have this trade. Its people filled me with vibrant and charming words. That is poetry."

Calçada, Teresa
Editorial Universidad de Almería
Teresa Calçada graduated in Philosophy. She was an educator, and higher technical advisor. Later, she became Vicepresident to what was then designated the National and Book Library Institute. Subsequently, she took on the role of School Library Network Office Coordinator, and has been the face of the Reading National Plan for the last 5 years. Her name is indelibly associated with the definition of the national public reading policies that later led to the creation of the Public Library Network and the development of the School Library Network. Today, she appears here as a reader, in a fictional interview that is also a  first-person testimony of her love for words, and for the life that these allow her to describe.
