Introduction: Cuba produces the HeberNasvac® vaccine for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. Its relevance lies in achieving sustained virological control results in a greater proportion of patients. Objective: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the therapeutic vaccine HeberNasvac® in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, in the province of Camagüey in the period from January 2019 to December 2020. Methods: A quasi-experimental study of therapeutic intervention was carried out in patients treated at the Provincial Consultation of Chronic Viral Hepatitis. The universe consisted of 24 adult patients, with detectable viral load at the beginning of the study. The primary source of the investigation was given by the medical history. Results: In the first cycle, headache and sneezing were more prevalent; and in the second cycle, fever and general malaise were more prevalent. At the end of the treatment, the majority showed improvement in the results of liver function tests. Before treatment, the largest number of patients had a detectable viral load above 250 copies / mL and after receiving treatment, several of the cases resulted in an undetectable load. The treatment was considered to be of medium safety in the largest number of patients and the effectiveness was high. Conclusions: There were more adverse events in the second cycle of treatment. Liver function tests showed improvement at the end of treatment. The viral load after treatment showed a decrease. The treatment showed medium safety and high effectiveness.
Introduction: Tooth eruption is a physiological process that can be altered by multiple congenital or environmental causes. Objective: To determine the chronology of permanent dental eruption and its relationship with influencing factors in 13-year-old adolescents from the Sancti Spíritus municipality. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in the Sancti Spíritus municipality from September 2017 to June 2019. The population consisted of 1 355 13-year-old adolescents belonging to all the urban basic secondary schools of this municipality and by stratified sampling in two stages. A sample of 406 adolescents was selected. Theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical level methods were used. Results: It was found that 22.9% of the adolescents presented delayed dental eruption chronology with respect to the Mayoral measures, with a predominance of males (57%) and the Europoid ethnic group (83.9%). The factors that most influenced were the retention of temporary teeth with 72%, sex with 57% and hereditary history with 49.5%, the three variables with great statistical significance. Conclusions: Almost a quarter of the 13-year-old adolescents studied in the municipality of Sancti Spíritus presents a delay in the chronology of permanent dental eruption with respect to the Mayoral values. Those of the masculine sex presented double the risk for a delayed chronology and there were no differences regarding the ethnic group. The factors that most influenced were heredity, sex and retention of temporary teeth. DeCS: CHRONOLOGY; TOOTH ERUPTION/physiology; ADOLESCENT; DENTURE RETENTION; INHERITANCE PATTERNS.

Resumen
Introduction: The intervention of low birth weight (LBW) is a public health priority worldwide and a powerful instrument for reducing infant mortality. Objective: To evaluate an educational intervention strategy to reduce low birth weight at the Guillermo Tejas Silva Polyclinic in Las Tunas province. Methods: A quasi-experimental study of educational intervention was carried out on low birth weight in pregnant women in the first trimester at risk belonging to the Guillermo Tejas Silva Polyclinic, from February 2020 to February 2021. The universe consisted of 72 pregnant women from which a sample of 60 was selected. An educational program was applied through culture circles consisting of seven work sessions. The percentage was used as a summary measure for qualitative variables and for the statistical validation of the changes before and after the intervention was applied, the McNemar test was used. Results: With the application of the intervention strategy, a level of knowledge of 94.01 % is reached. 58 (96.6 %) pregnant women raise their knowledge and in 48 Items of the 50 (96 %) correct answers are issued. Conclusions: The educational intervention strategy through culture circles allowed to improve the knowledge of pregnant women about the risks of low birth weight as well as their participation in the construction of their own health. Resumen
Introduction: Fractures of the distal end of the femur are disabling injuries, among them the Hoffa's fracture is an infrequent condition difficult to diagnose and treat. Objective: to update on the most important elements of this traumatic entity. Methods: The search and analysis of the information was carried out over a period of 60 days (November 1 to December 30, 2020) and the following words were used: Hoffa's fracture, AND distal femur fracture, based on the information obtained, a bibliographic review of a total of 529 articles published in the PubMed, Hinari, SciELO and Medline databases using the search manager and reference manager EndNote, 37 selected citations were used to perform the review, 35 of the last five years. Results: The mechanism of high and low energy production was mentioned. Reference was made to classifications based on plain radiography and computed tomography. The main entities associated with the Hoffa's fracture were exposed. In relation to treatment, conservative and surgical modalities were mentioned, in the latter, the approach routes according to the location and type of fracture, with special emphasis on arthroscopic surgery. Conclusions: Hoffa fracture is an infrequent injury caused by a high energy production mechanism and occasionally associated with other traumatic entities. The treatment of this condition is generally surgical; the modality to be used is based on the geometric configuration of the fracture. Resumen
Introduction: Several studies indicate the high prevalence of depression in older people at a national and international level. Objective: To evaluate the reliability of the Spanish version of the abbreviated Yesavage questionnaire (GDS-VE) in Cuban older adults. Methods: From the quantitative approach, a descriptive study was carried out, with a cross-sectional design, in the period from August 2019 to March 2020. The universe consisted of 85 older adults who attend grandparents' homes (number 1, 2 and 3) of the Holguín municipality. Through a probability sampling, 75 were selected. Cognitive functioning, depression and the reliability of the Spanish version of the abbreviated Yesavage questionnaire (GDS-VE) were considered as research variables. The evaluation instruments were the semi-structured interview, the Mini-examination of the Folstein mental state (M.M.S.E), the Katz index, the Lawton scale, the Spanish version of the abbreviated Yesavage questionnaire and the documentary review. The results were processed in the statistical packages Epidat 3.1 and MedCalc. Results: The correlation coefficient for the test-retest reliability of the Spanish version of the abbreviated Yesavage questionnaire was considerable and significant. Likewise, the general reliability coefficient for the internal consistency of this instrument was good. When calculating the coefficient with the exclusion of each item, it was evidenced that none of them compromised internal consistency. Conclusions: The reliability of the Spanish version of the abbreviated Yesavage questionnaire in Cuban older adults is good.
