Resumen
Introduction: Medical biometrics has made it possible to identify predictive variables of birth weight. Objective: To determine the local discriminatory power and performance of fetal biometric variables at 22 weeks on the trophic condition of the newborn. Methods: An observational, analytical and retrospective study was carried out in three health areas of the Santa Clara municipality, in the period between January 2013 and December 2019. From a population of 6,035 births, 2,454 were selected by simple random sampling. Data were obtained from records of genetic consultations. In the analysis, areas under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve were constructed and performance indicators for diagnostic tests were calculated. Results: The areas under the curve of the biometric variables discriminate those born small and large for gestational age. In the small ones they exceed 0.840 except for the length of the femur; in the large ones, the estimated fetal weight reaches a curve of 0.715, the rest are lower. Local cut-off points are estimated. The performance indicators of the biometrics maintain a regular behavior; those that are estimated by transforming the values from the reference tables are more specific with values above 80%; while those calculated after transforming the variables by the estimated cut-off points raise the sensitivity above 60%. Conclusions: All biometric variables have discriminatory capacity for deviations of the trophic condition at birth, preferably for small births for gestational age. The optimal cut-off points identified differ from those established in the reference tables. The performance indicators of the fetal biometric variables showed superiority according to the estimated cut-off points with respect to those of the reference tables. Resumen
Introduction: There is an urgent need to individualize each diabetes mellitus type 2 treatment according to the special situations of each patient diagnosed with the disease. Objective: To describe the therapeutic approach of patients with diabetes type 2. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in 96 patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus type 2, belonging to the Camilo Torres Restrepo polyclinic, in the period from January to December 2021. Variables such as age, sex, type of treatment, individualized treatment, metabolic control and adherence to treatment were studied. Descriptive statistical techniques were used, such as absolute frequency and percentage for qualitative variables, as well as measures of central tendency for quantitative variables. Results: There was a predominance of older ages (over 60 years) with 72.9 % of the casuistry and females (58.3 %). 97.0 % of the participants received pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment, and 21.8% required more than one drug. Metformin was the most used drug (37.5 %). Treatment of diabetic patients in special situations was inadequate, except in overweight and obese patients, and patients who adhered to treatment achieved better metabolic control of the disease (48%). Conclusions: The therapeutic approach in the studied patients was inadequate. The treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 must be individualized, from a comprehensive basis of the baseline condition of each patient, taking into account their comorbidities to achieve comprehensive actions at the primary level of prevention. Introduction: Diabetes is related to cardiovascular diseases, it is considered an important cardiovascular risk factor, which increases it, as well as premature death. Objective: To review some studies on diabetes as a disease and as a risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases. Methods: A literature review was carried out on diabetes and its role in the development of cardiovascular diseases, in the period 2007 to 2021, in the databases Scielo, EBSCO, LILACS, as well as other sources and resources of information available on the Internet. The controlled vocabulary Descriptors in Health Sciences was used. Results: Studies on diabetes and its relationship with the development of cardiovascular diseases were reviewed. 18 publications were recovered, which show this link. Conclusions: The relationship between diabetes and the appearance of cardiovascular diseases was shown. Unhealthy diet, overweight, obesity and physical inactivity are evidenced in the genesis of diabetes. Systematic work on prevention and its active investigation in people at risk is imposed. With its prevention and control, it will favorably influence morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Resumen
Introduction: Spinal cord trauma is a devastating condition that causes sensory, motor and autonomic alterations, however, survival depends on prognostic factors described in the literature such as: comorbidities of the individual, the severity of the initial trauma, the level of the injury, among others. Objective: To evaluate the clinical and epidemiological factors that overshadow the evolution in geriatric patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord injury. Methods: The research was carried out over a period of three years, in the Neurosurgery service and consisted of several stages: two years were dedicated to the selection of patients: January 2018 to July 2020, the time allocated to the study was completed with follow-up by consultation up to six months. Results: The group of 60 to 69 years of male sex prevailed with 56.6% with domain of severity groups A and B of the ASIA scale. Poor prognostic factors in spinal cord injury were degenerative changes of the spine, low injury level and high rate of complications among others. As a result, the degree of social dependence in the group was moderate or severe and the deceased were 46,6% of the cases treated. Conclusions: Cervical spinal cord trauma represents a complex and multifactorial event that is influenced by comorbidities, the characteristics of the traumatic event and the technological development of the center. Proper assessment of each of them can improve outcomes for those injured over 60 years of age. DeCS: SPINAL CORD DISEASES; SPINAL CORD INJURIES; AGED; ACCIDENTAL FALLS; SPINAL CANAL/injuries.

Feminist research that investigates the forms of resistance and organization of women in a sacrificed territory such as the Atacama region, Chile. The study is based on feminist research methodologies, since it is situated and focused on the participants, recognizing them as central protagonists. Likewise, it is positioned in narrative productions as a research strategy, an opportunity for resistance and other forms of research in academic spaces. The main results show the meaning and significance that women give to the processes of resistance and organization to face the consequences of patriarchal violence and extractivism in a territory in sacrifice. The main conclusion is that the violence that arises when inhabiting a sacrificed territory impacts on the bodies, subjectivities and relationships of / between women that allow the weaving of narratives, rebellions and resistance from non-violent political actions and practices.

Lacemakers represent one of the most active groups linked to textile in Europe. The crisis of the artisan lace business has not erased the interest and resistance of a predominantly female art that has sought new lines of representation and maintains very active networks for the exchange of knowledge, training and emotional support. This article analyzes the history of this group from its origins, when the activity was focused on work, to the new situation with the artistic and emotional experience at the center of the activity.
The study raises how the radial structure is one of the characteristics of this group throughout the centuries and how the global communication can reinforce it. The article is methodologically based on works aobut the women history and female associationism, the few documentary and studies about lacemakers and my experience like director museum dedicated to lace.

Resumen
It is not easy to understand how, despite the economic cost, of not achieving the explicit objectives or responding to the needs and interests of women, their institutionalization survives and evolves from the Middle Ages to the present, adapting to the discourse of power on the protection of women. The objective of this work is to initiate a process of analysis and reflection on the institutionalization of women in residential centers of social services from the feminist perspective. For this, a review of secondary sources has been carried out on the history of the institutionalization of women and the mechanisms, discursive and non-discursive forms through which power is deployed, which have been present throughout the time and current specifics. Foucault's term device has made it possible to understand this type of institutionalization as a device for disciplining women in traditional sexual roles.
