Resumen
This article examines the acquisition and administration of three radio stations on the part of the Left, in the context of the Chilean road to socialism: Portales, Corporación, and Magallanes. Salvador Allende himself played an important role in radio Portales; whose shares were bought by members of his intimate circle. The other two radios were purchased and administered by Left-wing parties as juridical persons or by party members as natural persons. The article shows that, notwithstanding the grandiloquent rhetoric of these years and the heated discussions regarding the socialization of mass media, the leaders of the Popular Unity coalition opted for operating within the existing legal framework and made use of its purchasing power to increase their influence in the public sphere.

Resumen
Our research analyzes the government relations between Peru and Bolivia in the years prior the beginning of the war against Chile, in 1879. It argues that their bilateral affairs, presented as close and linked to a common past, are opposed to evidence that refers to recurrent armed tensions derived from the conditions imposed in the commercial treaties signed between 1847 and 1878. Resumen
Within the Junta de Ampliación de Estudios, the Centre for Historical Studies carried out a prolific trajectory of internationalization of an academic elite of researchers in Spain during the first third of the 20th century. Directed by Ramón Menéndez Pidal, this institution was an alternative to the classic institutions in the area and played a leading role in the training of multiple professionals beyond national borders. In the case of this study, we focus on studying the thematic lines developed by those professionals in the historical discipline who, from the region of Castilla y León, obtained one or several pensions from the Regional Government during their careers. The results show, mainly, the identity interest of national studies on the influence and contributions of Spain in international contexts and, on the other hand, the predominant masculinization of this sector.

Resumen
The present article aims to analyze the economic and sociocultural background of the behavior of crimes against property, public order and people, as well as their judicial and police repression in the Cuban province of Pinar del Río between 1944-1951. The main sources were the judicial files, the written press, and the historicalcriminal records of the prisons, with which they reconstructed the criminal statistics of the period. Among the causes of the occurrence of these crimes and their persecution are the processes of social readjustment that occurred after the Revolution of the 1930s, the economic situation generated after the Second World War, the consequences of the performance of the governments of the Cuban Revolutionary Party (Auténtico), and the centuries-old processes of racial discrimination that marked the actions of the police and justice institutions.

Resumen
This article analyzes the actions of Tomé’s textile entrepreneurs in its economic, political, and social expansion towards the local community during the first four decades of the 20th century, looking for possible answers about the purpose of this behavior, inserted in a process of productive readjustment of workers through industrial paternalism. In this way, the entrepreneurs with insertion policies and
mainly financing public works linked to urban transformation, expand the classic dynamics of employer control towards a new area of influence and dominance, integrating the local community as a new subject receiving their paternalistic practices.

Resumen
In 1928, the Argentine pedagogue Víctor Mercante published “Tut-Ankh-Amon y la Civilización de Oriente” when he returned from
Egypt after the discovery of the tomb of Pharaoh by Howard Carter. In this work, we analyze Mercante’s work as a precursor of Egyptology in Argentina as well as professor of Ancient History at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. It examines what is oriental in Mercante and how it reproduces or differs from Western academic production, the epicenter of Egyptology. Mercante’s interpretations are conditioned by Orientalist ideas, which are reproduced by the discipline, in a context of diffusion and dispute over the artifacts of ancient Egypt.

The article is an exploratory reflection on the genesis of Chilean national exhibitions held between 1848 and 1872. In its origins, the role played by the Generation of 1842 at the head of Salvador Sanfuentes was crucial, while other intellectuals, such as Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna, were important in its development, promoting and supporting these events as a reflection of the degree of civilization reached by the country.
