Muḥy al-Dīn Ibn ‘Arabi (1165-1240) is one of the greatest exponents of the history of Sufism and Islamic thought. His influence as a mystic and Islamic scholar continues to nowadays as this research tries to show through the analysis of the doctrines and practices of the ṭarīqa Tijāniyya beyond colonial and orientalist prejudices. A Sufi path, actually the largest in the world, which is a good example of contemporary Sufism balancing metaphysics (ḥaqīqa) with the exoteric Islamic law (sharī‘a). This article explores thematically, for the first time and using a multidisciplinary methodology, the main influences of Akbarian thought on Tijāni intellectual history and its impact on the main authors.

In Being and Nothingness, Sartre develops a notion of negative freedom, which is expressed on a nihilation of the being-in-itself. On the other hand, in Sartre’s Truth and Existence, the dimension of materiality acquires a renovated emphasis, and, as a consequence, freedom is expressed in an affirmative movement of unveiling of the Being. This two senses that the notion of freedom acquires, constitute different manifestations of the same phenomenon, and they are the result of different ways in which Sartre himself articulates the paradoxical notion between freedom and factuality, subjectivity and objectivity.

Both in value theory and in normative theory it is usually considered that negative things and positive things have the same relevance. Some reject this idea and consider negative things more important. Here I will argue in favor of the asymmetry. Afterwards, I will examine the different asymmetrical positions we may hold. I will analyze their features and their strong and weak points. Lastly, I will claim that we have no reasons to believe that an specific asymmetrical view is superior to the others.

This work analyses the political questions in Jan Patočka’s thinking through the perspective of the impolitical, specially by following the theorization that Roberto Esposito gives on this approach. Firstly, the work studies the figure of spiritual person as agent and defender of a “non-political politics”, who tackles the problematicity of sense committed with community and beyond any mystical-religious interpretation. Secondly, it exposes an affinity between Patočkian concepts of negative Platonism, war, and solidarity of the shaken, with the leitmotiv of the impolitical. The work concludes defending an “impolitical” sense of the State in Patočka’s work from his reading on the foundation of the First Czechoslovak Republic.

In this paper, we try to investigate the possibility of making a phenomenology of the experience of evil gradually considered from the most conspicuous consideration of the criminal act to the most subtle behaviors in relation to evil. We also pointed out that one of these less obvious degrees of evil could occur in what is here called suspicion of intention, which is defined as the attempt to interfere with the internal freedom of the other. Thus, the fertility of phenomenological work for the interdisciplinary treatment of human behavior is observed.

The principle of anguish (Angtsprinzip) refers to the anguish of the beginning, as the one that determines all the phases of the “ages of man” (birth, childhood, youth, maturity, old age, death) as tradition has defined them in Western. The understanding of anxiety, psychosomatic affect, not as death anxiety but as initial anxiety, which manifests itself equally in freedom, sexuality and also in death, will allow us to outline a new formulation of the hope principle.
