Resumen
The study of the phenomenon of post-Roman for tification is emerging with interest for the territory of the ancient Roman province of Gallaecia. In recent years, these advances have been made in the location and study of sites inserted in the transition from the Roman state to the Early Middle Ages. The combination of non-invasive techniques with archaeological excavation allows more information about these fortified enclosures. In this text a review of the methodological process of study of the place of Castro Valente (Padrón, Galicia).

Resumen
The middle valley of the Ebro was configured in Roman times as a dynamic area that had land and river connections. A conglomerate of cities was developed where the small ones predominated, together with cases such as those of Pompaelo (Pamplona, Navarra) and Caesaraugusta (Zaragoza, Aragón) that had a larger size. Thanks to the progress of research in urban entities, it is possible to locate the place where the productive zones and artisanal districts were built, integrated or not in their urban planning. The main objective is to analyze these productive demarcations in their relationship with the rest of the city and the communication infrastructures as well as their development.

Resumen
Research about early medieval rural settlements focused on the combined approach by means of written and material sources is becoming more common. The disparity of sources of a diverse nature requires interdisciplinary work environments. However, the necessary interdisciplinarity entails an epistemological reflection about information management to avoid, as much as possible, the generation of parallel discourses depending on the sources used. In contexts where specific sources are lacking and the existing ones only reflect a very partial and incomplete view of the territory difficulties are more severe. The mountain spaces are representative of this phenomenon and, among them, the Upper Arlanza Basin (Burgos, Spain). This is emblematic for its cave-dwelling necropolises. A considerable number of sites provide archaeological data for the study of the formation of social structures during late antiquity, and the excavations carried out at the Revenga site since 2014 are a good example of this. Our study considers the processes of information management and proposes some methodological strategies to address the integration of sources of a diverse nature and origin, and their possible (re)interpretation within an information system.

Resumen
The Alto Alentejo’s territory is an area densely populated in Roman times, with numerous medium and large sites in an area with very few urban settlements. However, in the transition to the 5th century, took place numerous changes that allow us to perceive strong modifications in the space occupation. In this article we define a methodology for the study of these changes, using information from archaeological surveys and excavations, itineraries and data of geographical origin, to integrate them into a GIS (Geographic Information System) and generate a diachronic comparative analysis model of the changes in the settlement pattern between the Imperial Roman period, Late Antiquity and the High Middle Ages.

Resumen
This article tries to establish a methodology on altitude analysis in Landscape Archaeology. The interest of this variable for studies of historical settlement has been relegated by the prominence for the protagonism of other such as the visibility or the capture of nearby resources. In this way, two methods are exposed, with two different work scales, in order to create this non-existent corpus. As a case study, the Castillo de Arenas (Campillo de Arenas, Jaén) is presented, a fortress that operated on the Castilian-Nasrid border between the 13th-15th centuries.

Resumen
This article is focused on the medieval archaeological sites recorded in the Aigüestor tes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, located in the western Catalan Pyrenees. The archaeological analysis combined with palaeoenvironmental studies are used to discuss the historical role of seasonal livestock farming in the high mountain valleys of the Pyrenees. The goal is showing how this activity, combined with agriculture, structured the territory and modified the landscape. It also presents some hypotheses to contextualise the archaeological record within the historical knowledge of the region. In shor t, it highlights the value of the archaeological study of high mountain areas for research into pastoralism in medieval times and the origins of transhumance.

Resumen
This article exposes a historical panoramic once the occupation phases have been verified and analyzed after the recent archaeological interventions (2009-2018). As a support of that study more than thirty radiocarbon datings have been added to the sectors presenting less alterations and with more constructive evidence. Nevertheless, it has been proved an origin of the use of this redoubt in the 5th century BC. This data allows the opening of a new perspective in the investigation of the north peninsular fortifications.

Resumen
The Côa Valley was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1998 and is considered «the most impor tant open-air rock ar t site of the Paleolithic». The study of the rock art of the Côa Valley revealed that its chronology goes from the Upper Paleolithic to the 20th century.
The present work was developed within the RARAA project, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) «COA / OVD / 0097 / 2019- Rock Art Open Access Repository», with the aim of studying the Iron Age rock art in the Côa Valley and sharing in open access both the data structure, as well as the project data and metadata, images, 3D models, descriptors and vocabularies. With the publication of the registration methodology and the descriptors used, we seek to contribute to improve the use and reuse of data, as well as the development of Linked Open Data, so that it can be localizable and accessible, using FAIR principles (Hollander et al., 2018), and enhancing the interoperability with national and international platforms.
