Primary myxoid degeneration is characterized by fragmentation of type VI collagen of the cardiac valvular fibrous cap and the presence of broken and granular elastic fibres. It is accompanied by fibrosis, thickening, dehiscence, valvular rupture and, in some cases, chordae tendineae rupture, which can lead to prolapse and severe cardiac valvular regurgitation. We describe the case of a 54-year-old patient with myxoid degeneration of all four heart valves, with no evidence of similar cases in the literature, and review the disease, its diagnosis and treatment.

Agribusiness in Tocantins, a growing sector in Brazil, faces logistical barriers that compromise its full development. Deficiencies in transportation infrastructure, with worn-out highways and limitations in the integration between modes, increase costs and the time required to transport products. The North-South Railway, which crosses the state, could be a solution to reduce dependence on road transportation, but it faces regional integration problems and underutilization. In addition to transportation, the lack of sufficient and quality warehouses also represents a bottleneck. Agricultural production has grown significantly, but the increase in storage capacity has not kept pace. This results in inefficient logistics, forcing many producers to resort to immediate transportation of crops to other states or regions with better infrastructure, which makes the process more expensive and increases losses in the production chain. These logistical challenges limit the competitiveness of Tocantins producers, who face disadvantages compared to neighboring states, such as Mato Grosso and Goiás, with better infrastructure. Overcoming these obstacles requires investments in expanding and modernizing highways, railways and storage centers, as well as government incentives and public-private partnerships. This set of actions will allow Tocantins to consolidate itself as an important national agribusiness hub, enabling more efficient logistics, reducing costs, and paving the way for economic growth and strengthening the state in the national and international markets.

The study deals with the socio-environmental responsibility of the company Braskem with regard to environmental disasters in Maceió, focusing on the exploitation of rock salt and the consequences left for local communities. Therefore, it investigates the application of the principle of environmental prevention, seeking to identify failures in compliance with this principle, which resulted in significant damage to infrastructure, the environment and the lives of affected residents.  Identify that, due to the lack of supervision and preventive measures, the situation described emerged with the sinking of the soil, the displacement of thousands of people and the loss of local biodiversity. The study reinforces that socio-environmental responsibility is not limited to legal obligations, but ethics are vital components for the safety and development of the community. It is concluded that Braskem's failure to implement preventive plans and investigation responsibilities left the local population in a very precarious social and environmental situation, reinforcing the need for stricter public policies and effective supervision. Further studies are needed to examine the impact of affected areas and the long-term effect and how effective their compensatory measures are.

Introduction: The prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) is notable among nursing professionals in hospital settings. The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of urinary incontinence among nursing professionals working in hospital units and how this condition impacts their daily activities. Method: This is a scoping review conducted in June 2024, which mapped how urinary incontinence affects work performance, including productivity, adherence to self-care practices, and limitations in daily activities. Observational and cross-sectional studies, as well as dissertations, were included. Exclusion criteria comprised review studies, letters to the editor, abstracts, studies in the project phase, book chapters, and complete books. The protocol was registered on the Open Science Framework platform, and the research sources included six databases: Medline/PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Lilacs, Embase, and CINAHL, as well as gray literature from CAPES Theses and Dissertations and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. Results: The study identified a variable prevalence of UI among nurses and nursing assistants. The impacts of urinary incontinence among nursing professionals range from physical discomfort to emotional issues, such as anxiety and embarrassment, reducing productivity and increasing the likelihood of leaving the profession. Conclusion: The review identified a significant prevalence of UI among nurses in hospital units. The impacts of urinary incontinence are substantial, affecting physical, emotional, and professional aspects.

What constitutes the pillar of the entire legal system of a nation, therefore, its application and effectiveness that constitute a determining factor in the order and full functioning of a State, is its constitution. The objective of this research was to analyze the similarities and differences in approaches to the essence of the constitution according to the thoughts of Lassalle and Hesse. The question arises: does one author’s thoughts cancel out another’s? Do they have an antagonistic perspective of conceptualizing the Constitution? The method used was inductive, which allows us to analyze the particular ideas of each author and only then arrive at an overview of their works. The methodology used was bibliographical research, which consists of reviewing the literature related to the topic addressed. To this end, books, periodicals, articles, Internet sites and other sources were used. At the end of the research it was inferred that the thoughts of these two great jurists are not antagonistic but rather have different views that in turn complement each other. While Lassalle states that a written Constitution is good and lasting when it corresponds to the Real Constitution and has its roots in factors of power that govern the country, otherwise it would just be a piece of paper. Konrad Hesse aims to demonstrate that political and social factors should not be ignored as they have strength and relevance, but that even in the face of this the Constitution has its own strength, not being at the mercy of political and social events.

INTRODUCTION: Orthopedic traumas involving anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries represent a considerable portion of emergency room visits, which demonstrates the need for further studies focused on the treatment of this type of injury, aiming at a faster and more effective outcome. One such therapy is the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), an innovative technique with promising results in the process of tissue regeneration and healing. In orthopedics, it has been used in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, such as tendonitis, ligament injuries and osteoarthritis. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the benefits of platelet rich plasma in patients with ACL injuries. METHODOLOGY: This Integrative Literature Review began in August 2024 and used Medical Publisher (PUBMED), Virtual Health Library (VHL), Science Direct, World Wide Science and CAPES Periodical Portal as the database for the electronic search, through the Health Sciences Descriptors: “Platelet-Rich Plasma”, “Anterior Cruciate Ligament” and “Injuries”, with the Boolean operator AND. The final sample consisted of 15 articles. RESULTS: The direct application of PRP at the site of the ACL injury promotes the regeneration of the injured tissue, reducing pain and improving joint function, as well as recovery during and after treatment. Furthermore, PRP is a safe and minimally invasive alternative, since it is autologous and does not present immunological risks. CONCLUSION: The benefits of PRP in the treatment of ACL injuries are the stimulation of cell proliferation, reinnervation and tissue regeneration, accelerating the recovery process of the injured patient. There is a relationship between the use of PRP in ACL injuries and PRP also helps with functionality after the procedure, in the short and long term.

The study addresses the effectiveness of citation through the WhatsApp application. Given that the communication of the procedural act, through technological resources, can represent legal uncertainty in the Brazilian system. The general objective that guides this study is to observe the (in)security of judicial summons via the WhatsApp application. In the search for resolving the problem, the research method chosen is deductive, through exploratory, bibliographic and documentary research, specifically, seeking understanding in jurisprudence, doctrines and understandings of judges, regarding guidance and instruction for the use of citation via the WhatsApp application. Regarding the results achieved, it was noted that Brazilian Courts accept and consider summons via WhatsApp, as long as some essential criteria for the validity of the summons are observed, such as the authenticity of the recipient via telephone number, written confirmation and presentation of a photo. Therefore, the summons via WhatsApp (virtual) does not represent legal uncertainty. It is concluded that, informing someone about the existence of a process, through virtual means, in addition to being a great technological leap, is an advance for the Brazilian legal system.
