In the middle of the vast possibilities of being in gay universe, a special sub-culture stands out: Bears. Deriving from the 1980’s, from the city of San Francisco (California), this group has the reframe (with consequent valorization) of body fat and facial and corporeal hair, and homosexuality, with hyper masculine performativity, as its strongest characteristics (Domingos, 2010; Hennen, 2008). The claim of the “original macho man” image is stimulated by the consumption of some specific fashion artifacts that give them certain “free pass” in both straight and gay spaces. Using ethnography and comprehensive interview, associated to a high range of bibliographic research, with posterior content analysis, and having the city of Recife-PE as a scenery, it was possible to reach to the concept of “transitability”; to the causal relationship between Bear identification processes and physical and symbolic violence suffered in childhood; to the ritual processes of consumption of some fashion artifacts; to the anxiety/fear of the scrutiny among other bears when it comes to the wrong choice of a garment to any Bear events.

To reduce the impacts generated by the production of jeans, environmental management strategies emerge in industries that need the employees’s awareness. Thus, environmental psychology is evidenced, which offers instruments for analyzing person-en-vironment relationships, assisting in the process of environmental awareness. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the behavior and environmental beliefs of employees of the jeans industry and presents new perspectives for implementing environmental management initiatives. The industry, the object of this study, operates in the Private Label segment, producing approximately 300,000 pieces per month. In addition, it already has strategies to mitigate environmental impacts and some social and environmental responsibility certifications. For data collection, the following instruments were used: a semi-structured interview with the manager, an analysis of the documents provided by the company, and an application of the Ecological Behavior scales and Environmental Beliefs to the organization’s employees. The results indicate that although the industry proposes several sustainable strategies, the research participants do not effectively participate in these actions and have few behaviors related to activism and consumption. Thus, an environmental management proposal that includes the analysis of the general perception of the company’s employees, an environmental education program, cleaner production strategies, and the dissemination of practices is suggested.

This article is about historical subjective possibilities of/in the universe of transvestites between the 1950s and 1960s. As announced in the title, the central question is to question and problematize “‘Who brought the transvestite fashion to Brazil’?” This question arises from a reflection on the title of an article present in the 75th edition of Revista Manchete (RJ), published on September 26, and which presents Ivaná as a central piece, this, an important and famous transformist artist of the period in Brazil. From the inquiry, the possibility of thinking and questioning the phenomenon recognized as transvestites in the space of the theater stages and the emergence of a new transvestite subjectivity forged from aesthetic-body modifications through the ingestion of hormones will be created. Therefore, I ask, what would be a “transvestite fashion” – as proposed by the aforementioned magazine. Something fleeting? Would this be the meaning offered by the press? Maybe yes. However, I emphasize that, in addition to hormones, friendship networks established in spaces of sociability such as nightclubs and theaters were of great importance for the constitution of desires, exchanges, dreams, negotiations that made possible the emergence of historical transvestite subjectivities over the decades. of the 1950's and 1960's.
