Scientists’ interest in sharing research data based on Robert K. Merton’s ethos of science is analyzed. Thirty scientific documents from Scopus and Web of Science citation indexes were reviewed. The interpretative analysis of the content was done with the ATLAS. ti software. Among the findings, several factors associated with scientists’ refusal to share data in science stand out. Other positions were also found that promote awareness in favor of distributing them, since the common good is above private interests. Finally, it is verified that the ethos of science is an appropriate proposal to analyze the interest of researchers in the distribution of research data.

Our current way of life is based on an energy model focused on the consumption of fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal) and on the irrational use of energy. The energy balance for an urban ecosystem is a valuable tool to quantify the forms of energy and matter that feed the system and characterize the generation of pollutants. In the case of Valle de Aburrá, the current energy supply is based on 81,4% of non-renewable resources. The transport and industrial sectors are the largest consumers of energy, with a participation of 45,4% and 34,9% of the total energy consumed in the Aburrá Valley.

The article aims to evaluate a didactic application, designed as progressive support of language and communication in children with disabilities of the nursery, elementary and secondary school by the integration of augmented reality and animated three-dimensional objects. The application was programmed on a mobile device in the form of a children's story. The evaluation instrument incorporated variables associated with visual and auditory capacity, attention, concentration, imagination, and vocabulary, measured by a scale of 1 to 10. A higher degree of learning was found in variables associated with vocabulary, visual and auditory capacity in elementary and secondary  school children; and in attention and imagination in nursery children, which were associated with children's prior knowledge in the manipulation of mobile devices.

The objective of this research was to estimate the demands for labor, development bank credit, nitrogen fertilizers, tractors and phosphate-potassium fertilizers of primary activities of Mexico during 1970-2019, using the function cost translog. All five inputs were inelastic. Labor, fertilizers and tractors increase the primary production in Mexico. Labor was complementary with nitrogen fertilizers, and development bank credit showed a relation of substitution with all inputs. By 2022, increases greater than 1.10%, 0.14% and 0.08% of labor, tractors and nitrogen fertilizers respectively are required to guarantee growth of primary activities.

The objective of this work is to present different mathematical optimization strategies that help combat the problems generated by COVID-19. To this end, different strategies are presented that use optimization methodologies commonly applied in other areas of science to address problems such as vaccine logistics, energy consumption, environmental impact, economic impact and management of health resources. Promoting the development of this type of strategy will allow us to be better prepared for the possibility of future pandemics.

Introdution: The enzyme lactoperoxidase thiocyanate is produced by epithelial cells of the salivary glands and performs defensive functions against pathogenic microorganisms of the oral cavity, therefore, identifying its presence by qualitative methods could be useful when investigating the causes of recurrent oral infections such as periodontitis, gingivitis and dental caries, in which a relationship with low levels of this enzyme has been reported in different studies. Objetive: To demonstrate the usefulness of the pyrogallol salicylate method in the identification of the salivary enzyme lactoperoxidase thiocyanate. Methods: An observational and cross-sectional pilot study was carried out at the Center of Immunology and Biological Products of Camagüey, from June to October 2020, using the pyrogallol salicylate method to identify the lactoperoxidase thiocyanate enzyme in human saliva. Fourteen saliva samples were analyzed by observation and spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 405 nm. Descriptive statistical methods were applied to process data. Results: The enzyme lactoperoxidase thiocyanate was found in all the salivary samples studied. The absorbance of the samples ranged between 0,406 and 0,939. Conclusions: The pyrogallol salicylate method is useful in identifying the salivary lactoperoxidase enzyme, which may be favorable in the study of oral infections. Introduction: Viral hepatitis is a global health problem, causing high mortality and morbidity. Despite advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis B, this disease is still a concern of health authorities. Objective: To update on current behavior and management of hepatitis B virus infection. Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out during April and May 2021, consulting 211 articles in English and Spanish from databases such as SciELO, PubMed, Lilacs and Medigraphic, of which 30 citations were used. The combination of Boolean terms and operators and theoretical methods such as: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and historical-logical were used. Results: The behavior of the infection caused by the hepatitis B virus was addressed, emphasizing its epidemiology, morphological and functional characteristics that allow its infectivity, evolution and clinical manifestations, complications, treatment and current perspectives. Conclusions: The natural history of infection is dynamic, and clinical manifestations depend on various factors. Hepatitis B virus infection can cause complications such as liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, and its main route of transmission is parenterally. The diagnosis is made mainly through serological techniques. Differentiated care for groups at risk is essential and, although there is an effective vaccine, there are still cases and treatments have been developed with positive results. Introdution: Levels of physical activity and food intake are the main elements which private and government health entities pay a lot of attention to, due to the effects that they can cause in case of disproportionality, since both make a couple able to control the good health of individuals. Objetive: To know the eating habits and physical activity practice of the Secondary Level of District 03, of Regional 08, province of Santiago, Dominican Republic. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative approach was used by means of a survey, using a stratified random sampling in order to extract a significant sample from the 48 educational centers that make up said secondary level educational district. The sample consisted of 372 students, who provided information on frequencies, food consumption and physical activity. The instrument used was the International Student Lifestyle Questionnaire, using items number 1, 12 and 13. Results: A low level of physical activity is evidenced, reflected in the case of males, by 74,3 % and in females by 83,2 %. Regarding food intake, there are balanced situations in both sexes, both active and sedentary, in the same way, the low consumption of meat and proteins from the sea is striking. Conclusions: The low levels of physical activity in both genders, added to an unbalanced diet, put this age group at risk of non-transmisable diseases.
