En las últimas décadas se ha observado una fuerte influencia de las actividades antrópicas sobre microcuencas que proveen el servicio ecosistémico hídrico. A eso se suman los posibles impactos del cambio climático relacionados a variaciones extremas en temperatura y precipitación que podrían generar una alta vulnerabilidad dentro de las microcuencas y servicios ecosistémicos primordiales para el desarrollo de las comunidades. El presente estudio analiza cuál podría ser el grado de vulnerabilidad de dos microcuencas de alta montaña de importancia hídrica en la Región Sur de Ecuador. Para el análisis de vulnerabilidad se consideró la exposición, sensibilidad y la capacidad adaptativa. Los resultados muestran que las microcuencas El Carmen CA (cabecera de agua) y Mónica en el Cantón Loja podrían tener una vulnerabilidad moderada a alta bajo escenarios pesimistas (RCP 8,5). En lo concerniente a la capacidad adaptativa, se observó que El Carmen y Mónica poseen niveles de capacidad adaptativa altos. Estos resultados están relacionados a la presencia de estrategias de conservación en dichas microcuencas y muestran la importancia de generar acciones de conservación y restauración a nivel de paisaje, que permitan el mantenimiento y recuperación de ecosistemas que proveen el servicio ecosistémico hídrico, de esta manera también se podría asegurar la calidad y cantidad de agua para las comunidades.

Conservar los recursos naturales es una tarea compleja, requiere la participación activa de la población. En la ciudad y provincia de Loja, gran parte de sus habitantes han entendido este aspecto, con cambios significativos en su cultura ecológica y ambiental. Este artículo tiene el propósito de analizar y sistematizar algunas experiencias y acciones ecológicas y ambientales desarrolladas en la ciudad y provincia de Loja, su impacto en la cultura ambiental de los lojanos y sus perspectivas futuras. Se revisó información secundaria de tesis de grado, reportajes periodísticos y observaciones de los autores en relacionados al manejo de la  ecológico y ambiental. Existen resultados y experiencias muy interesantes, así se puede mencionar: funcionamiento de la primera central hidroeléctrica del Ecuador, utilización de energía eólica y solar, manejo de los desechos sólidos, consolidación de parques y senderos  públicos para la interpretación y educación ambiental (Plan del Sistema Verde Urbano de Loja), proyectos de investigación y conservación impulsados por la academia y reconocimientos internacionales. De esta manera, Loja se ha convertido en el referente nacional e internacional en este campo, demostrando que es posible una transición progresiva hacia una cultura ecológica y sustentable, con la participación activa de los actores sociales.

This study aims to analyze and discuss traditional and alternative theories of leadership in organizations, through a literature review encompassing the main approaches utilized in contemporary leadership research. The analysis considers such theories´ underlying assumptions about the nature of social science and society. To obtain the results, the literature is categorized in a novel and ex post facto way in Burrell and Morgan´s four-paradigm matrix. It is concluded that the majority of research on the topic is functionalist with a pragmatic orientation and that, from the trait theories of leadership to the evolutionary psychology, more plural knowledge is required to promote more effective organizations, persons, and, consequently, societies.

This article aims to determine to what extent labor equality, institutional culture, salary equity, co-responsibility of working life, gender stereotypes, labor discrimination and differentiated productivity contributed to a context of violence in women of the health area in the care of COVID-19 disease. The methodology used the application of a multiple linear regression model. One of the conclusions of this research ratifies a positive and significant relationship of gender stereotypes, labor discrimination, differentiated productivity, among others, in labor violence against women in the health area in the care of COVID-19 disease. 

An item selection method in CAT (Computerized Adaptive Testing) based on association rules is proposed. According to the correct (1) or incorrect (0) answer to each item, association rules are sought with the answered item and its result (1 or 0) as antecedent, and as consequent, items with higher or lower complexity level than the answered item respectively. The election of the item is performed considering rules with the highest confidence and support. Finally, we include an example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The analogical hermeneutics of Mauricio Beuchot (2005) and the vision of game in the “Homo Ludens” of J. Huizinga (2006) help us to interpret the effects of capitalist globalization on the social structures of Latin America. Corruption cases in this region involve political, business and criminal intelligence. The democratic advance faces dirty game from criminal groups. The game analogy shows some hidden factors in social interactions. The fair play of capitalism is a fiction, and the proposed model of interpretation exhibits the cruelty of the economic system. 

The TOE (Technology Organization Environment) model is described and correlated with the intention to adopt information systems in micro, small and medium-sized companies in Guadalupe Valley, Mexico. The sample was based on 25 companies, with the result that some factors of the TOE model have a positive relationship with the intention of adoption according to the Spearman’s correlation coefficient. The importance of analyzing the factors that influence the adoption of information systems lies in the need for companies to have these systems in order to increase their productivity and competitiveness. 

The objective of this work was to characterize the quality of the water coming from the Guarumo water treatment plant through measurements of basic physicochemical parameters. For this, a selection of the parameters to be measured was made and these measurements were compared with the values established in the Ecuadorian Technical Standard 1108-2014 Fifth Revision. The results show that the basic parameters to take into account are turbidity, temperature, residual chlorine and pH. The parameters analyzed comply with the requirements established in the standard for the per iod of analysis and can be used to permanently monitor the quality of the water and it is concluded that the water is of good quality.

This work aims to explore the constitution of the group of entrepreneurs of the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS) in San Luis, Argentina. For this, a prosopographic approach is made to the actors who carry out activities within the framework of the National Microcredit Program for the ESS (Law 26,117). The prosopographic approach will be developed in three possible and simultaneous reading axes; the morphological aspects of the collective, the archetypal and the stereotypes representations that are projected. The article systematizes the field work carried out during the years 2012 to 2019.  

This literature review briefly describes the history and principles of X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging, its applications in entomology and other agronomic fields are analyzed, besides the perspectives for future research. It is concluded that the analyzed methodologies are non-destructive, they allow to give follow-up to the same individual through images and computerized models in two and three dimensions for the study of cells, tissues and organs in living insects. These techniques contribute to the morphological, physiological and ecological understanding of insects in different environments or treatments.
