We analyze the role of the auditor in the contracts done in Valle del Cauca, in a period after the issuance of the Anti-Corruption Statute. A total of 64 Merit Contest contracts signed were reviewed. The study revealed that there is a variety in the scope of performance of the financial auditor in contracts with similar contractual objects, the gaps in the current legislation and inconsistencies in financial requirements. General recommendations are also included on appropriate procedures for contracting auditing. The role of the auditor in Colombia as overseer of the terms agreed in public infrastructure contracts is essential for the fulfillment of the contractual object. 

We analyzed the relationship between overburden and quality of life of primary caregivers of chronically ill patients, considering the index of independence of the patient. This is a descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional and prospective study, in which 351 informal primary caregivers of chronically ill patients participated from a community in the State of Mexico. Katz Index, Zarit Overburden Scale, WHOQOL-BREF were applied. The results indicate a moderate relationship between overburden and quality of life only in caregivers of dependent patients. The usefulness of classifying caregivers according to the degree of independence of the patient is concluded, from the community and primary care level to identify support needs in caregiving.

This article aims to discuss the relevance of the thesis research of the master’s degree program in Discourse Studies and Academic Literacy at Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala within the framework of the main programs to promote training and research of Conacyt. The analysis considers the social impact in relation to public policies, particularly in the face of the challenge of promoting reading-writing skills in mother tongues and foreign languages. From the results it is evident that there is a gap of inequality of the entity in these programs, however, the postgraduate program impacts with concrete proposals in the different educational levels through research lines developed by the academy based on a national and regional educational need for literacy.

Se da una breve descripción de lo que creemos saber hasta el día de hoy sobre la nucleosíntesis de elementos en el universo. Por medio de una reseña cronológica se indican los periodos y mecanismos de su formación. Se formula una prospectiva crítica sobre investigaciones futuras que permitirán validar, modificar o rechazar hipótesis hechas, las cuales involucrarán observaciones conjuntas que abarcan mediciones más finas de radiación cósmica de fondo, cúmulos de galaxias y de ondas gravitacionales producidas por choques de estrellas de neutrones. La información obtenida se combinará con restricciones dadas por modelos teóricos. Tal vez, muchas dudas actuales serán aclaradas, pero nuevas preguntas surgirán.

The aim of this scientific essay is to propose a conceptual approach of a bidirectional progression of psychosocial factors at work. The argument considers: 1) the delimitation of the theoretical framework, on the one hand of the psychology of occupational health and, on the other, the psychosocial at work and organizations; 2) a review and specification regarding the conceptual advance; 3) a critical reflection to propose a progression from risk factors and psychosocial risks to protective factors and psychosocial protectors. In conclusion, the usefulness of this proposal lies in having a spectrum that contextualizes research and guides professional interventions carried out in the workplace to improve the psychosocial health of people at work.

The objective of this article was to determine the benefits and risks of a vegan diet, as well as to identify gaps in knowledge around the impact of a vegan diet on health. A review of the literature published in PubMed and Google Scholar was carried out. Multiple studies show beneficial effects of the vegan diet such as lower risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, etc. In contrast, a vegan diet has been associated with an increased risk of fractures, orthorexic disorders, megaloblastic anemia, etc. It cannot be said that the vegan diet has more risks than benefits or vice versa, rather, the risk-benefit must be evaluated in each person. Multiple gaps in knowledge were identified.

This paper studied the paintings of Sani ol-Molk, a Qajar Iranian artist, as well as those of Chagall, a Russian-Jewish artist, and it aims to answer the question of what elements and techniques were employed by the artists to illustrate One Thousand and One Nights stories in such a way that the form appropriately serves the content. The two painters, Sani ol-Molk and Chagall, with distinct viewpoints, influenced by Eastern and Western socio-cultural discrepancies, respectively, created paintings for the stories using their own artistic styles. This paper compared pairs of Sani ol-Molk and Chagall’s illustrations that have the same theme but are completely different both structurally and aesthetically. It also analyzed the works in terms of form, composition, color, visual elements, and symbols. The pairs are divided into three categories in terms of their subject, including romances, imaginaries, and everyday life. Despite the considerable differences between the works of the two painters, both Sani ol-Molk (by combining naturalistic techniques and Qajar painting styles) and Chagall (by freely using Western visual culture, colors, and forms and mixing them with Iranian, Indian, and Arabic elements as well as with oriental lighting) illustrated One Thousand and One Nights successfully and achieved to create a fantasy.

The Portuguese revolution, on April 25th, 1974, ended a fascist dictatorship that had lasted for forty-eight years. In the political and social global context of the Cold War, the country's new situation was understood as a victory for the anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist movement, particularly in Europe. This article will analyse the artistic practices during the Portuguese revolutionary process (1974-1976), particularly the symbolic adoption of a guerrilla strategy within the arts: a cultural guerrilla. First, the article introduces the topic and ask how a cultural guerrilla was relevant within the national artistic context during the period in focus, assuming collectivism as the strategy's basic and essential characteristic. This is followed by a discussion of forms of self-organization and direct action led by collectives. In this regard, the strategy of cultural guerrilla was used in articulation with the centres of political decision, as a means of projecting the voices of artists into the political-social sphere. The conclusion underlines the extraordinary context of Portugal in the political and social context of the Cold War and the relevance of artistic practices in this period towards international understanding of the topic.

This article is devoted to the journey of an antimilitarist lithograph by Jules-Felix Grandjouan at the beginning of the 20th century through anarchist groups and publications in Paris, Stockholm, and Buenos Aires. By analyzing the six versions of this work, the specificities of a transboundary and transtemporal visual interchange based on strategies of appropriation and resignification are elucidated. The characterization of these processes is discussed in light of the historical particularities of the anarchist movement and its aesthetic theory. The study of first-hand graphic sources allows reconstructing an unseen case of iconographic migration in anarchist magazine culture and restituting the isolated figure of the aforementioned artist. In sum, a new perspective on an under-researched aspect of the relation between art and anarchism is provided.

This article theorizes about memory places and museums’ potential for educating subjects from their sensitive offer, linking the construction of historical memory to the sensitive dispositions of touch, hearing, sight, smell, and taste. To this effect, places and museums of memory are characterized, and their pedagogical dimension is described. Subsequently, the sensitive offer of these spaces is analyzed, and the role of the senses in the concretion of dispositions in the visitors is explained. These dispositions are necessary to achieve a questioning that allows taking charge of the victims of the conflict and enables the responsible construction of memory regarding the events that occurred. Finally, some guidelines are proposed in order to plan pedagogical laboratories of the senses in places and museums of memory, in such a way that the sensitive offer of these spaces can be used in a questioning that allows the construction of memory.
