The free software and hardware movement has socialized the technology allowing open access to it and thereby reducing the digital divide. In the classroom the opportunity has been found in these movements to boost classes and teaching and learning processes in general, however, the library has a preponderant role in such dynamization, because this space for the promotion of information can offer staff Teaching technology tools and knowledge of them for use through curriculum integration and pedagogical planning. This article shows the execution of a didactic strategy that teaches future professionals in library science to create projects for the curricular integration of their information units using Scratch software and Arduino microprocessors to support pedagogical planning. It also shows the projects that the students developed in said strategy and their opinion in the whole teaching and learning process experienced.

This essay examines on the worth of periodicals as object of research and proposes that digitization processes of newspaper collections by the Miguel Obregón Loría National Library is an invaluable contribution for scholarly research.  It also proposed that the strategy of preservation, indexing and circulation is a further contribution to the democratization access to knowledge and information. It is concluded that the recuperation of those newspapers that came to light shortly, after the independence of Costa Rica, and that were included in a microsite dedicated to the bicentennial's heritage, is an invaluable source for research on thought and ideas.

An oral narrative recorded in 2020 evokes a case of madness supposedly induced by witchcraft that took place in the village of Capulhuac, in the state of Mexico, when the narrator's mother was a child. The story is transcribed and contextualised, and some of its folkloric-narrative motifs are studied, especially those that demonstrate the mixture of Mexican autochthonous elements and elements with Spanish and European roots.

Extensive reflection and continuous re-readings require the poems of Federico García Lorca’s Gypsy Ballads and, specifically, «The Unfaithful Wife», a perfect example of intertextuality that highlights the work of recovering and updating themes and forms of popular literature by many poets in 27 Group. In this article we will focus on two aspects: on the one hand we will analyze the text as a possible case of gloss; on the other hand we will examine the theme as an original sample of continuity in the Spanish poetic tradition.

This article shows how, taking as a starting point the trials of Pareja (Guadalajara, 1527), better known as the witch trials of Barahona, a story can be composed and then studied from a literary point of view. Until now, judicial documents in witch trials were mainly used to identify traditional narratives that had been a resource for the prosecution, the accused or the witnesses. However, the wonder tale that lies in these materials has not been addressed yet, which can be achieved by combining the information recorded in a fragmentary, discontinuous way, which we ought to join together, like the pieces of a puzzle. Thus opening a new way of research, we will prove that any witch trial can be analysed after this concept, on the grounds that the example of the Barahona witches give us thanks to their relevant survival in the collective ideology and to the different references found later in literature and the press. In the same way, our research will contribute to a deeper knowledge of these Castilian women to whom numerous infanticides were attributed in their hamlet, and whose image was finally outlined in the courtroom.

This article studies the representation of the devil in Ricardo Palma’s work Tradiciones peruanas. By reading a selection of traditions, the work analyses this character’s configuration based on three manifestations. Firstly, the devil is described according to his condition as an evil being that appropriates the human soul and punishes the man’s greed. In second term, he is a character who hides his true identity, but that finally is exposed; and in third place, he is represented as a character that can be mocked by man. The writer recreates the image that has devil in the literature and the popular culture. The character’s configuration is developed through well-known topics and reasons from literature and oral narration, it is approached within the framework of mystery and comedy, highlighting Palma's narrative talent.
