Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by the new coronavirus that was discovered in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in late 2019. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a nursing intervention based on the Jean Watson model in the level of knowledge about COVID-19 prevention in adults who have experienced it. Methods: Quantitative, pre-experimental research with pre-test post-test, contextualized in 132 offices of the family doctor of the Sancti Spíritus municipality, Sancti Spíritus province, in the period between March and June 2020. Universe made up of 68 patients who presented COVID-19 in the last year. Knowledge was measured with surveys validated by experts and piloting with Cronbach's alpha> 0.5. For the thematic and methodological axes of the intervention based on Jean Watson's theory, a bibliography on the subject was reviewed, taking into account identified knowledge needs. The information was processed with absolute frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum value, to test hypotheses the Wilcoxon non-parametric signed rank test was used. Results: Prior to the intervention, level four of knowledge was presented by a group of patients, applied the intervention rose significantly (z = -5.249, p Conclusions: The nursing intervention based on the Jean Watson model was effective in increasing the level of knowledge about prevention of COVID-19 in patients who have experienced it. Introduction: Training based on generic competencies has led Higher Education institutions to submit to market criteria, and to generate study plans that respond to these demands. Objective: To know the opinion of the fourth-year students of the Nutrition and Dietetics career of the University of Atacama, regarding the development of generic competences during their academic training. Methods: Qualitative research by cases study was carried out. The population was made up of 10 students 2017-2018 academic year, after signing an informed consent authorized by the school's management. Data collection was done through a focus group and analysis through reduction. Scientific rigor was determined by rigorous criteria: credibility, transferability, dependence and confirmability, and also triangulated by researchers. Results: Level 1, 334 units of meaning were identified, which generated 4 descriptive categories, Level 2, 3 meta-categories emerged, originating in Level 3 a qualitative domain: contribution of the students with respect to the development of Generic Competences during their process of training considering the current Study Plan. Conclusions: The majority of students do not recognize what generic competences are, nor those declared by the career and University. The generic ones that best identify are ethical commitment, teamwork, ability to learn and adapt to new situations, oral and written communication. Among the aspects that facilitate its development are methodological strategies with a constructivist approach, while those that hinder it are mainly focused on the lack of practical applicability, lack of student-centered teacher training, and immaturity and demotivation as personal conditions of the student. Introduction: The global goal for the elimination of leprosy is its early detection, which requires a comprehensive approach, knowing the various factors that can favor its acquisition, to develop strategies that contribute to its eradication. Objective: To characterize the clinical-epidemiological factors in the incidence of leprosy in the Camagüey municipality. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out, whose work universe consisted of all the patients with a diagnosis of leprosy in the Camagüey municipality, during the studied period. The variables studied were: clinical forms according to Madrid classification, age, sex, first symptoms and signs, location of the lesions, bacilloscopy, mode of detection, source of infection, and situation of the patient about the focus. The information obtained was processed using the statistical package SPSS v21. The methods used were descriptive statistics of the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies. The results of the study were presented in tables and graphs. Results: Dimorphic leprosy was the one with the highest incidence, the age group between 60 and older prevailed with a predominance of males, more than half of the patients presented anesthetic spots as the first symptom, and smear coding was zero. The most relevant detection mode was spontaneous, the source of infection was ignored, and the index case prevailed in the patient's situation in relation to the outbreak. Conclusions: The results of this study show that it is necessary to increase the training of health personnel and deepen the search for cases. Introduction: The application of personalized regenerative medicine in the healing process of the burned patient is a reality now. Platelets have changed their classic role in hemostasis, to that of sources of growth factors for the synthesis of new proteins, microbicidal activity, modulator of inflammation, favoring cell proliferation, synthesis of extracellular matrix and analgesic effect. Objective: To evaluate platelet-rich plasma for the healing of patients with dermal burns. Methods: An experimental study was carried out in patients with dermal burns at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Hospital in Camagüey’s province, from July 2018 to July 2020. From a universe of 200 patients, two treatment groups of 30 patients each one were selected, a study group with platelet rich plasma and a control group with conventional treatment. A homogeneous distribution of the groups was made according to age and sex. Results: From the initial evaluation at five days, a higher percentage of healing was observed in the group with platelet rich plasma, as well as a lower variation according to the standard deviation, the time to complete healing was lower in this group. Most of the patients did not present complications. The complications found were local. Conclusions: Platelet rich plasma guaranteed faster healing in dermal burns.
