This research evaluated the effect of the Armonía program, based on mindfulness, on academic performance and academic stress in students of a higher education institution in Lima, through 8 sessions of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, for 8 weeks. A quasi-experimental design with pre and postest was used, with two groups (experimental and control), both with 25 randomly assigned participants, who had a mean age of 19.82 years. For the measurement of stress, the SISCO SV-21 Inventory was used and for academic performance, the grades of the first and second partials, completed by the teachers, were used. It was found that there are statistically significant effects in favor of stress reduction in general explained by the program with a large effect size (d = 1.18; p < .01), as well as for its stressor dimensions (d = 1.39; p < .01), symptoms (d = 2.88; p < .01) and coping strategies (d = -3.16; p < .01); Likewise, statistically significant effects were determined in favor of the increase in global academic performance explained by the program with a medium effect size (d = -0.42; p = .04). It is concluded that there is sufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of the program in reducing stress; however, despite having a certain effect on academic performance in general, more research is needed to determine its influence on this variable and its components.

Background: The period of lockdown has brought negative psychological consequences worldwide. In particular, problems of anxiety, depression and stress have been exacerbated. Aim: This research analyses the evolution and relationship of anxiety, depression and PTSD at the beginning and end of lockdown and at the beginning of the so-called “new normality” in Spain. Method: The present research assessed a sample of 67 adults from the general population aged 18-56 years from the Region of Murcia, Spain, using the STAI questionnaire for anxiety, BDI-II for depression and EGS-R for PTSD. The sample was collected longitudinally between 20th and 22th March 2020 (T1), 11th and 18th May 2020 (T2), and 1st and 9th September 2020 (T3). Results: Elevated levels of depression were found to be a risk factor for increased PTSD symptomatology during lockdown. Prevalences ranged across the three measures from 10.5% - 27.3% for state anxiety, 22.4% - 28.3% for depression and 18.4% - 21.2% for PTSD. In addition, PTSD, anxiety and depression decreased over the time of lockdown; however, cluster analysis showed that one group of subjects increased their levels of PTSD over the time of lockdown. Conclusions: The general population has been significantly affected in their mental health during the pandemic, reflecting a need for adequate psychological support to address these problems.

The objective of this research was to analyze the different theories of interfaces between family and school bullying, trying to know the depth of the investigations between family and bullying. The design was a systematic review, which consists of a theoretical review of research carried out in recent years, selecting articles published in scientific psychology journals indexed in electronic databases, by adopting predetermined criteria. The study sample consisted of 40 research articles taken from psychology, education and medicine journals such as: Latin American Journal of Psychology, International Journal of Developmental and Educational Psychology, School and Educational Psychology, Psychosocial Intervention. The results show that the studies carried out on the topic of interfaces between family and bullying report a direct relationship, this means that families influence student behavior within educational institutions.

This article on the favorable aspects of mother-child non-verbal communication in the construction of the baby’s psyche is developed from the psychoanalytic approach of Piera Aulagnier (1988; 1991) and includes her vision from the moment in which the woman wishes to be a mother until the baby’s first year of life. The concepts reviewed are primary violence, secondary violence, representation and negative desire. Likewise, the study is complemented by the theoretical vision of Fonagy (2013), Pichon-Riviere (1950), Spelt (1937) and Spitz (1959; 1963b), among others, for whom mother-child communication is essential for development of the infant’s psyche from the moment of conception.

Forgiveness is a construct that is being investigated with great interest by psychologists, but this requires having validated instruments. María Casullo’s Capacity to Forgive Assessment Scale (CAPER) is one of the first test crated in Latin America to measure forgiveness. The objective of this study is to analyze the psychometric properties of the CAPER in a sample of 163 people from the city of Arequipa, who were selected using non-probabilistic methods. The results indicate that the internal structure of the test has three factors (Forgiveness to situations, Forgiveness to others, and Forgiveness to oneself) calculated by means of confirmatory factor analysis; but the internal consistency indexes for each of the three dimensions indicate low reliability, with coefficients less than .7, using Cronbach´s Alpha test and McDonald’s Omega test. Therefore, a cautious use of this instrument is recommended, and further study of its psychometric properties.

The objective of this study is to determine the levels of resilience in adults in the district Ica Ica, in the context of COVID-19. It also seeks to identify if there are significant differences according to age group, sex and sentimental situation. The population was made up of Ica citizens of legal age of both sexes, of which a representative sample of 383 people was obtained. The instruments used were the Resilience scale of Wagnild and Young (1993) in the adaptation of Gómez Chacaltana (2019) and a self-made socio-demographic file. It is concluded that most of the participants presented a very high level of resilience (65.27%). Likewise, significant differences were found in the level of resilience according to the age (p<0.05); however, no significant differences were found in the level of resilience according to gender (p>0.05) and sentimental status (p>0.05) of the participants.
