Resumen
This study discusses how the endTB project, which had the aim to eradicate tuberculosis by 2030, has been affected by addressing emerging pathologies; consequently, an increase in the rate of infection and mortality by tuberculosis was reported in 2021. Although the scientific community focuses on COVID-19, we cannot forget tuberculosis. Both pathologies show important similarities, which suggest that investment in research in both study fields can be used to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for both pathologies. The analysis of tuberculosis, an infectious disease that is a public health problem worldwide, under the COVID-19 context is helpful to highlight the shortcomings of health systems worldwide.

Resumen
Soils of four coffee plantations (organo-mineral, agroecological management with minimal management, conventional management and agroecological management) with different slopes and management were compared for one year. Soil sampling was carried out by season, organic matter, organic carbon, N, P, K, CEC, pH, texture and microbial respiration were measured. Organic carbon, N, organic matter, and microbial respiration varied. Soils with agroecological management presents higher values of organic matter (10.09%) and microbial respiration (621 μg C.CO2). Organic matter and microbial respiration were similar in coffee plantations with the same slope by season. There is a direct relationship between the content of organic matter, nitrogen with microbial respiration and other soil properties, but not with the coffee yield. Tlapacoyan coffee production decreases, at the pair with the sustainability and quality of the soils because of the adoption of technologies with the use of agrochemicals.

Resumen
Since the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 was declared a significant amount of work has been carried out to mitigate this problem. The use of masks and personal protective equipment was recommended by the OMS to avoid the virus propagation. At the present, there is a field of research of growing interest in the development of masks and other protective materials that can not only capture bioaerosol droplets, but also can inactivate the virus. This would be an important step in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. The development of new biocide nanomaterials incorporated into the masks and protection equipment can help to achieve this goal and increase the protection of humans against COVID-19. In fact, such dispositive would be a protection against new viruses or bacteria that may arise in the future.

Resumen
The variation of the interaction diagrams for solid circular columns is presented considering the position of the longitudinal rebars. Two of them were considered: a) the first rebar coincides with the vertical longitudinal axis, and b) the first rebar is placed out of phase to the right of the semi-angle between two rebars. A variation of -4.2% to 6.6% was evaluated in 32 pairs of interaction diagrams for columns reinforced with a variable quantity of rebars (from 6 to 11 rebars) and steel ratios ranging from 2.42 to 4.13%; the error is 2%, 4%, and 7% in columns reinforced with 10, 7, and 6 rebars, respectively. Therefore, considering the position of the rebars in columns with a small amount of reinforcement (6 to 9 rebars) is very important for the design process.

Resumen
With data from Agri-Food and Fisheries Information System, the productivity of grain maize in the state of Campeche was characterized at the municipal level, through multivariate statistics, spatial analysis of production and the application of a survey to farmers, to determine the factors that condition the competitiveness of the sector within the state. It was found that as one moves from the north to the south of the state, self-consumption and use of native seeds for sowing increases; which reduces competitiveness (benefit/cost): Hopelchén (1.80, north of the state), Champotón (1.38, center) and Candelaria (0.97, south). According to the survey carried, it was concluded that aspects of agricultural health, disorganization of farmers and lack of commercialization schemes, limit the productivity of corn in the state.

Resumen
Creative imagination is studied at the materialized, perceptual and verbal levels in school-age children. Fifty children from a private school in Puebla, Mexico participated. An evaluation protocol was applied in a collaborative and interactive way under the concept of the zone of proximal development that involves the participation of the evaluator and the use of various types of support: dialogic conversation, repetition of instruction and orientation questions. The results reveal that children access materialized and perceptual action tasks more easily than verbal ones. These results are discussed in terms of the possible implications of the development of creative imagination for school age.

Resumen
This paper provides an introduction to open science by reviewing its basic aspects. In particular, it presents the replication crisis in research and examples of questionable practices that generate false positive results. Open science initiatives are also presented to improve the reproducibility and reliability of scientific knowledge. The impact of adopting open science principles on raising standards for publishing scientific reports is also discussed, as well as challenges in transforming the research system. Overall, the paper aims to encourage reflection among the academic community in Latin America on the open science movement, and shares resources for interested readers to deepen their understanding and get involved.

Resumen
This paper proposes some ways to reformulate the critical readings that consider The Book of Sand (1975) a repetitive and dispensable piece of Borges’s oeuvre. It briefly analyses three short stories included in that book; “The Other”, “The Book of Sand” and “The Congress”. Similarities and differences are established in the use of characteristic topics in Borges: the double and the total library; these are traced in several previous texts: “Three Versions of Judas”, “The Theologians”, “Streetcorner Man”, “The Library of Babel” among others. Likewise, some autobiographical elements are identified to delve into the author’s critical distancing from himself and from his previous work.

Resumen
This paper analyzes the importance of the Arctic ice melt for Mexico. The research examines the impacts of the Arctic ice melt in Mexico, the Mexican government's environmental policies, citizen perception and the media's approach to climate change and the Arctic ice melt. To obtain the results, an exploratory analysis was carried out, from which it was concluded that, despite the importance of the Arctic melt in the current climate crisis affecting all countries, and specifically Mexico, within the political agendas of the nation, the citizenry and the mass media, both climate change and the Arctic melt are secondary issues.
