Resumen
Objectives: To evaluate the bending and topography properties of surface treated fiber posts. Material and Methods: Experimental, In vitro. The samples were divided into two groups, the flexibility of 40 fiberglass posts from 2 commercial houses was evaluated for each conditioning procedure P1: FGM White Post DC; P2: MAQUIRA Fiber Post. The conditioning techniques were: T1: control T2: Hydrofluoric Acid 10% 15 seconds T3: Hydrogen Peroxide 24% 60 seconds T4: aluminum oxide 50 µm and were subjected to the universal testing machine, for the bending test of 3 points. The topographic surface of the fiberglass posts was observed using a scanning electron microscope. Results: The deflection (mm) showed a significant difference comparing the control groups and the conditioned groups with an average maximum value of 0.59mm ±0.04 and a minimum value of 0.51mm ±0.06. In the maximum force (N), a significant difference was observed when comparing the control groups and the conditioned groups, with a maximum value of 133.68 ±11.42 N and a minimum value of 103.48 ±17.79 N. Conclusions: No adverse effects on bending properties were found for both groups of fiberglass posts after surface conditioning with the different protocols.

Resumen
Objectives: To compare the antibacterial effect of the ethanolic extracts of two varieties of coca leaf “in vitro”: Erythroxylum coca var. coca and Erythroxylum novogranatense var. truxillense on Streptococcus mutans. Material and methods: Using the method of diffusion by discs, the ethanolic extracts of the two varieties were applied at concentrations 100%, 50%, 25% and 12.5% with positive controls of Chlorhexidine 0.12% and negative of 96º Alcohol in the cultures of the Streptococcus mutans strain (ATCC 25175) sown in Tripticasa Soya Agar. Incubation was performed at 37 ° C for 48 hours under conditions of partial anaerobiosis. The statistical analysis was carried out with the SPSS Version 22 program by means of the Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis. Results: Erythroxylum coca var. coca 100% and 50% had a greater inhibition halo 18.65 ± 2.434 and 17.10 ± 2.654 with respect to the ethanolic extract of Erythroxylum novogranatense var. truxillense that were 15.30 ± 1.895 and 14.05 ±1.932. respectively. Conclusions: It was determined that the ethanolic extract of Erythroxylum coca var. coca 100% and 50% has a greater antibacterial effect than the Erythroxylum novogranatense var. truxillense 100% against Streptococcus mutans.

Resumen
Dentistry as a branch of Medical Sciences is influenced by a great deal of scientific information written in English, compelling the dental professionals to be updated in English language for a better science understanding. One of the means and methods to fulfill such goal is through English terms glossaries in which in a very simple way provide the meaning of the most frequent and important words of a certain area of knowledge. This Glossary focused on Endodontics has been conceived mainly as a working and reference tool for dental students and post- graduated professionals. Some terms have been left out of the Glossary because of their similarity to the Spanish equivalent. However, others were included because of their special translation. It is not an attempt to give all the words and phrases related to Endodontics; the aim is only to offer a quick and an updated reference on the most common and indispensable terms in this field.

One of the means and methods to fulfill such goal is through English terms glossaries in which in a very simple way provide the meaning of the most frequent and important words of a certain area of knowledge. This Glossary focused on Prosthodontics has been conceived mainly as a working and reference tool for dental students and post- graduated professionals, gathering almost 150 english terms focused on that branch of dentistry. Some terms have been left out of the Glossary because of their similarity to the Spanish equivalent. However, others were included because of their special translation. It is not an attempt to give all the words and phrases related to dental prosthesis; the aim is only to offer a quick and an updated reference on the most common and indispensable terms in this field.

Resumen
Pit and fissure sealants have proven to be an efficient and effective alternative to protect occlusal surfaces from the development of carious lesions. A review of the abrasive air used in restorative dentistry is carried out and a clinical case of the use of this technology for the placement of pit and fissure sealants is presented.

Resumen
Objective: Compare the oral disease health conditions in indigenous and non-indigenous pregnant adolescents from Maracaibo-Venezuela. Material and Methods: It was an epidemiological, cross-sectional study with a field design, not experimental. The sample was 121 pregnant adolescents from the prenatal consultation of the Maternal and Child Hospital “Eduardo Soto Peña” and the Maternity “Dr. Armando Castillo Plaza” in Maracaibo. Clinical examination was performed according to the criteria of the World Health Organization, DMFT, SCI, SOH-I and PCI indexes were measured. SPSS® version 25 software was used to process the data and both the t-test for independent samples and Chi square were applied. Results: the caries experience was 91.7%, the DMFT index was 6.84 ± 4.173 and the SCI was 11.42 ± 2.374. For the periodontal condition, 41.3% had a healthy condition, 53.7% had gingivitis and 5% had periodontitis. The group of non-indigenous pregnant women had a higher DMFT index of 7.19 ± 4.066 ccompared to 5.52 ± 4.398 for indigenous women. Regarding the consolidated periodontal condition, 52% of the indigenous group presented gingivitis and the rest were healthy and among the non-indigenous 54% presented gingivitis, 6% had periodontitis and 40% was healthy. Conclusion: In this study, no differences were observed between the oral disease health conditions of indigenous and non-indigenous pregnant adolescents. However, it is necessary to give priority to the attention of the oral component of adolescent girls during pregnancy.

Resumen
Objective: To evaluate the position, shape and anatomical variants of the mental foramen evaluated by cone beam computed tomography in patients of the dental radiology service of the Cayetano Heredia Hospital. Material and Methods: All the CT scans acquired between the years 2017 and 2020 that met the selection criteria were evaluated and the mentioned variables were analyzed. Observations were recorded on a data sheet designed for this purpose. Results: 117 tomographic volumes were evaluated, adding a total of 209 mental foramina. The most common horizontal and vertical position was between the first and second premolars and below the imaginary line of the premolars respectively. The oval horizontal and rounded forms were presented in similar percentages. The most frequently found anatomical variant was the lateral lingual foramen. Conclusions: No statistically significant association was found between the position, shape and anatomical variants of the mental foramen with sex, age and side.
