Such source encompasses not only the peronist period but also later ones. This paper deals with the study of the stock market in Argentina during the period known as import substitution industrialization (ISI). The paper reviews some international historical experiences where these markets have been crucial for industrial development. For the Argentine case, we analyze the development of this market, the causes of its performance and the government’s role in that evolution, distinguishing the different stages within this period of industrialization of Argentina's economy. While these markets can play a significant role in financing the industry, the importance they have had in Argentina was variable, but in the whole they failed to become a general alternative for financing industrial enterprises.

Bank of Buenos Aires Province, founded in 1822, is the first Hispanic-American bank which has not only been trading for the last 190 years, but has also been a historic backbone to support the development of the Argentinian economy since then. Having issued bank notes for more than seventy years, it created its historical archive in 1903. Since then, it has kept its historical and artistic heritage and is open to public survey through the Historical Archive and Museum “Dr Arturo Jauretche”. Both its collection of documents dating from the XIII century to present times, and its specialized in banking topics library, make this museum one the most important sources of our economic history.

Since the late nineteenth century, were made public and private reports about Mendoza viticulture which are invaluable sources to know its history. This time, collect one published in early 1917, when this activity had entered its fifth year of crisis. This is an unofficial report, written by leading personalities but also less known. The part of the report provides an assessment of present situation, provides statistical information and an alternative project to the officer, who was forming a great company to monopolize the supply of wine.
