Resumen
This essay is a palaeographical and philological study of all the existing Spanish and Italian annotations in four Leonardo da Vinci manuscripts from the Da Vinci collection that was in Madrid many years ago. Such textual annotations were added by readers and are of several types. They are extremely interesting since they show how the Florentine master was appropriated and interpreted, how far he was accepted, and the manuscripts’ cultural and social impact. The findings of this study allow us to argue that some scholars’ identification of the authors of these annotations is incorrect.

ntroduction: The main consequence of not treating tooth decay in time is the total or partial loss of the tooth. One of the alternatives to replace the lost tooth and return the functions is through fixed prostheses. Today there are 3 generations of yttrium-stabilized zirconium polycrystals (Y-TZP). Seeing that in the third Generation the yttrium content was increased to approximately 5% in moles (5Y), stabilizing the materials approximately 50% of cubic phase and 50% of tetragonal phase, thus giving a translucent zirconium (5Y) with a high aesthetics and greater naturalness to the dental crown. Objective: To identify the different optical and mechanical properties of translucent zirconium compared to other restorative materials used in fixed prostheses. Materials and methods: This narrative review evaluated 115 scientific articles from the Medline information sources (via PubMed), Science Direct, Scopus, SciELO and LILACS from the last 5 years, published in Spanish, Portuguese and English. We included 51 articles that met the selection criteria which were randomized clinical trials and observational studies, in vitro studies and in vivo studies that evaluated the optical and mechanical properties of translucent zirconium as an optimal restorative material in fixed prostheses. We excluded systematic reviews, case reports and editorials. Results: It was observed that zirconium being a relatively new material and in constant evolution has studies mostly in vitro, among which stand out those that speak both of the mechanical and optical properties that vary depending on the generation to which the material belongs, as well as the adhesiveness of the material which is for now not viable, therefore, it is essential that more studies be carried out on this material. Conclusions: We can mention that zirconium has evolved over time, providing better optical properties, but as a consequence it has been reducing flexural strength and fracture toughness. However, this material provides good biocompatibility with oral structures. On the other hand, translucent zirconium according to studies is a non-recordable material, so new methods are sought to improve its adhesion.

Resumen
Objective: This study aims to determine the frequency of retained third molars in relation to facial biotype, the data were collected by using the patients’ 2D studies (panoramic and cephalometric) attending the imaging center ZETA-EXMED in the period November 2018 to December 2021, in the city of Lima, Peru. Methods: The type of study used for this research are observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective. For the present study, 6000 cases were evaluated, each case consists of one panoramic radiographic image and one cephalometric image, both taken to the patient on the same date, of these, only 150 cases that met the selection criteria were included in this study. Measurements about frequency of retained third molars in relation to facial biotype were done by a trained and calibrated researcher, using NemoCeph software for the cephalometric tracing. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS program version 1.0.0.1401 (SPSS Inc., USA) and the Chi square test (p <0.05). Results: Of the 150 cases observed, 91 were women (60.66%) and 59 were men (39.33%). According to the results, dolichofacial biotype had the highest frequency among males with a total of 27 cases (45.80%), while the brachyfacial biotype was more prevalent among females, with a total of 35 cases (38.50%). In addition, out of the total number of retained third molars evaluated (403 pieces), 141 were present in cases with dolichofacial biotype, followed by the mesofacial biotype with 139 pieces and finally the brachyfacial biotype with 123 pieces. Regarding the evaluation of retained third molars according to their position and facial biotype, 63 retained third molars were found in mesioangulated position and 28 retained third molars in dolichofacial / distoangular position, followed by 48 pieces in the vertical position in brachyfacial. Conclusions: There is not significant association between the quantity of retained third molars and their positions, in relation to facial biotype, although there is a significant association between facial biotype and the patient's sex, so it was concluded that Dolichofacial biotype has the highest frequency in males, while the Brachyfacial biotype is seen more frequently among females.

Resumen
Introduction: LED lamps have a new light-curing technology which can be monowave or polywave, which allows it to reach more initiators such as camphorquinone, Lucirin TPO and Propanodione, which have a wide variety of advantages and disadvantages. These lamps have evolved over time, as have different ergonomics, longevity, systems and quality standards. Objective: The objective of this literature review is to improve the clinician on the proper use of different LED lamps and how they influence the efficiency of resin photopolymerization. Material and methods: Extensive research has been carried out in the existing literature on this topic. From the beginning of this information until April 18, 2022, the bibliographic search carried out includes 86 articles published in the Medline database through PubMed, LILACS, SCIENCE DIRECT and SCIELO, and there is no language restriction. Results and discussion: The photopolymerization effects of Polywave and Monowave LED lamps present significant differences between the compressive strength of the light-cured resin, with single-wave and polyvalent LED lamps where the types of light and lamp directly influence the compressive strength of the resin. composite resins. Conclusion: The type of light and lamp directly affects the efficiency of the photopolymerization of the composite resin, so it is concluded that LED lamps with single wave technology (Monowave) produce a greater depth of photopolymerization than those with multiple wave technology (Polywave).

Resumen
Objective: To perform a literature review on oral squamous cell carcinoma, the presence of cancer stem cells; their association with the course of the disease and therapeutic applications. Methods: A search was performed in the PubMed database by entering the following algorithm: ((((neoplastic stem cells[MeSH Terms]) OR (Cancer stem cells[Text Word])) AND (Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck[MeSH Terms])) AND (Oral squamous cell carcinoma[Text Word]), to find articles in english published between 2012 and 2022. The PRISMA diagram was used to identify and select the articles. Results: A result of 49 articles was obtained; of which 27 were chosen according to the title and abstract in their association with the topic. In addition, 8 additional articles suggested by their relationship with the information previously searched were included. In total, 35 articles were evaluated. There has been found that tumoral cells in squamous oral carcinoma are heterogeneous since they include cancer stem cells wich possess characteristics of stem and neoplasic cells; which possess characteristics of stem cells as well as neoplastic cells; they have been associated with disease progression, recurrence, and metastasis and have been considered to be a key mechanism of therapy failure. Conclusions: The expression of stem cell markers in oral squamous cell carcinomas has been demonstrated and has contributed to their identification in oral squamous cell carcinomas and has been implicated in the behavior of cancer cells. New therapeutic measures aimed at eliminating cancer stem cells have been proposed and developed.
