Resumen
Emotional well-being and academic performance are important factors in the success of college students. Although some studies have found a positive relationship between these two variables, others have found conflicting results, questioning whether there really is a relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance in university students and, if so, the strength of this relationship. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance of university students and determine if there is a significant relationship between both variables. In the present investigation, structured surveys were used to collect data from a sample of university students. Chi-square analysis was applied to verify the hypothesis and determine the relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance of university students. The results of the study indicated that the null hypothesis was approved, suggesting that there is no strong relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance of university students. However, it is important to note that emotional well-being is a critical factor for success in other aspects of life, and healthy practices should be encouraged to improve the emotional well-being of college students. Although conflicting results have been found in the scientific literature, this specific study suggests that there is no strong relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance in university students.

Resumen
The correct combination of the volume and intensity of the stimuli of training loads and the control of the impact that they have on the organism of the athletes constitute two of the aspects that awaken more interest in the high performance sport. The present research aims to describe the behavior of the critical eye-fusion frequency (FCFO in Spanish) before and after undergoing track races, in three macrocycles of athletes of the running modalities of the national athletics preselection and to check if these values differ according to the different mesocycles of preparation and gender. The study was carried out with 38 athletes (20 men and 18 women) subjected to 84 measurements of the Flicker or Fatigtest-USB, before and after the load in three macrocycles, which included different preparation mesocycles. Statistical analysis of the data was performed through SSPS, version 20.0, specifically Studenty's ¨t¨ test and analysis of variance. The results showed that there is a significant increase in the values of critical frequency of ocular fusion and, consequently, in the levels of cortical activation after the load, without significant differences between these values in the different types of mesocycles, although there were significant differences between the average values of men and women before and after the load; the values reported by men were lower. These analyses constituted references for the interpretation of the test values in order to improve in the process of psychological control of training and advice to trainers about the adequate assimilation of training loads.

Resumen
The formation of environmental culture in the Physical Education teacher turns out to be an important factor in the integral preparation of this professional. The objective of this study is focused on: proposing a system of methodological workshops oriented to the appropriation of the environmental culture by the Physical Education teacher at the University of Oriente in Santiago de Cuba. The research has a mixed approach of explanatory type. Theoretical and empirical methods, techniques and instruments were applied to gather the necessary information for the study. A diagnosis was made to 15 teachers of the Physical Education discipline at the University of Oriente. Its results showed the insufficiencies in the environmental culture of the Physical Education teacher. In the processing of the data, the contrast statistics were used: Kendall's W test and T-Student test, with a significance level established at 0.05. The concordance of the criteria issued by the specialists consulted and the difference in the results between the pretest and posttest and with the control group, both with a significance of 0.00, allowed assessing the proposal as feasible and functional.

Resumen
This study begins when detecting that, in the flexibility physical tests, the artistic gymnastics athletes of the 6-8 years old category of the municipality of Pinar del Río present difficulties that bring with them little amplitude, harmony and aesthetics in the technical elements that they perform. Among the tests performed in the pioneer championship, one of them is to measure the level of flexibility, since it is a key element in the learning of techniques, which enables the joints to perform a maximum range and adopt different positions. Given this situation, it was proposed as an objective in this research to elaborate special exercises for the improvement of flexibility in athletes of the 6-8 years old category. For this purpose, theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and empirical were used, specifically the review of documents, observation and measurement, which facilitated the research process. This study was conducted with the four coaches of the female artistic gymnastics specialty and the 4 athletes of the 6-8 years old category. The special exercises include aspects necessary for the athletes to be able to execute the tests without difficulties, that is, with a previous mastery and to obtain better results. This work offers the trainers special exercises that allow them to improve the flexibility training process, specifically in the ages covered by the research.

Resumen
Soccer is a sport of various motor actions, where the reception of the ball is classified as a control action at different heights, speeds and angles. The player must have the ability to receive the ball in order to generate a different action: a pass, shot or dribble; its optimization implies greater probabilities of technical-tactical performance. In this sense, the objective of the research was to biomechanically analyze the mid-height reception technique in professional and amateur soccer players using video analysis as a measurement method. The research was descriptive-explanatory of correlational order, four variables of the motor movement (D: distance covered; AM: maximum acceleration; VM: maximum speed and AF: amplitude of the femorotibial joint) are analyzed through video-analysis with Kinovea . Five professional players (group 1) and 15 amateur players (group 2) were studied. The amateur soccer players presented a higher mean in all the variables studied, “D” (group 1: 72.17cm; group 2: 101.27cm; p=0.001), “AM” (group 1: 61.84m/s 2 ; group 2: 101.73m/s 2 ; p=0.000), “VM” (group 1: 8.18m/s; group 2: 12.55m/s; p=0.000) and “AF” (group 1: 62.6°; group 2 : 75.2°; p=0.002), which behaves significantly different in all cases. The biomechanical analysis carried out on professional and amateur soccer players, in the technique of receiving the ball at mid-height, concludes that amateur players require greater technical improvement, regardless of their experience in competitions.

Resumen
Biomechanics is a science that helps the study of movements applied in different sports, including soccer, which allows identifying and correcting technical errors. This is a fundamental basis for the control of the athlete's preparation. In this sense, the purpose of the research was to analyze biomechanically the pass with the inner edge of the foot in pre-juvenile and youth soccer players of training and academy. The research is of descriptive-explanatory type, of correlational order; 40 soccer players were biomechanically diagnosed in two independent groups (Group 1: Formative; Group 2: Academy; between 14-18 years). Ten indicators are analyzed, including age. Significant differences were demonstrated in the "DB" indicator (p=0.000), the "ÁFRA" indicator (p=0.006), the "DPAE" indicator (p=0.000), and the "VF", "A" and " TE" (p=0.000) respectively, while the variables or indicators "ÁFRE" (p=1.000), "EX" (p=0.102) and "EY" (p=0.056) did not present significant differences between the independent groups. In the comparison made with the players of a professional team and the players of a training academy, it was possible to show that there are notable differences from the initial phase of the pass with the inner edge of the foot, showing the distance of the player with respect to the ball, as well as in the previous phase where the players in formatiom have a better execution of the technical movement; this is reflected in the contact phase where greater speed and acceleration are evident at the moment of impact with the ball.

Resumen
The free kick in soccer is one of the important sports techniques, which allows the game to resume after a foul committed by the other player. The enhancement of specific motor skills allows the development of higher performance in the short and long term, for which its characterization is important to develop specialized methodologies in the stages of sports initiation. In this sense, the present research aimed to analyze the biomechanical differences of the free kick between advanced and amateur soccer players. This study is of a descriptive-explanatory type of correlational order, 30 soccer players from the Chiqui Park Soccer School (16-32 years of age) are intentionally diagnosed, classified into two independent groups, group 1 with advanced soccer players, and group 2 with amateur level soccerers. Three variables of interest are evaluated: the Initial Angle of the Unipodal Phase (AIFU in Spanish), the Final Angle of the Final Phase (AFF in Spanish), and the Execution Time of the Free Throw (TE in Spanish). There are no significant differences between independent groups in the angular variables AIFU (p=0.683) and AFF (p=0.389), and a significant difference in favor of group 2 in the variable TE (p=0.000). However, all the average ranges favored the advanced level players. There is a need to comprehensively establish larger studies that characterize the training categories studied, serving as a theoretical basis and methodology that supports the development of technical-tactical and physical actions of consideration in the processes of sports training management.

Resumen
Functional training helps to enhance strength in certain muscle groups; in this way, the athlete improves body posture, gains muscle strength and endurance and, therefore, can increase indicators related to physical capacity and final performance. In this sense, the objective of the research was to apply a functional training program focused on the improvement of strength in beginner swimmers of the Varadero Club. The research is of descriptive-explanatory type of correlational order; a population of 17 swimmers (both genders; 14-16 years old) of the referred Club is diagnosed. A functional training adapted to the swimmer is applied on the basis of four physical indicators in two moments of applying said training. Significant differences are achieved in favor of the post- test in all the physical tests, both in the elbow flexion test (p=0.001) and in the abdominal test (p=0.001). In addition, the horizontal jump (p=0.005) and the vertical jump (p=0.001) are included. It is essential to potentiate the training of the physical capacity of strength in swimmers through a correct planning of functional training, given the strengthening of the muscles that intervene in the technical gesture. Four actions are recommended that influence the expansion of the study sample; emphasis is placed on the female gender; The results of the research are compared with other studies in other age ranges and a quasi-experimental type of research is carried out.

Resumen
Recreational activities have numerous positive effects on human behavior, this can favor relevant psychological indicators such as perceived anxiety. In this sense, the purpose of the research was to determine how a recreational program influences the reduction of anxiety levels in high school students. The research is descriptive-explanatory, correlational; 30 high school students are intentionally diagnosed through the Beck test, before and after implementing a recreational proposal for eight weeks. The percentages of anxiety decreased as the intervention proposal was implemented, both in general and in the analysis by gender, as the decrease was significant (p=0.003). The present study shows that recreational activities can contribute to the reduction of anxiety in high school adolescents, both for the female gender and for the male gender. Three future actions are recommended: extend the implementation time of the intervention proposal, carry out studies by gender and direct future research at a quasi-experimental level.

Resumen
Self-defense in the Naval Force is one of the fundamental competencies of the military professional, the improvement of the mastery process in mixed martial arts requires systematic diagnoses, evidence of scope and limitations and, therefore, making the right decisions to improve the process. In this sense, it was proposed as the purpose of the research: to diagnose needs in the systematic self-defense of the Higher Naval School. The research is exploratory with a descriptive-explanatory and correlational approach; selection is made under an intentional sampling of 20 naval officers. These respond to closed surveys that will justify the prospective design of a future intervention process. The self-assessment of the specialists shows that 40% have a Good rating in mastering karate-do, boxing and judo techniques and 30% a Bad rating. These values indicate that they are similar during the correct application of karate-do techniques (45%: Good; 15%: Bad), Boxing (65%: Good; 0%: Bad) and Judo (40%: Good; 25%: Bad), while the indicators Relevance (4.30 points), Feasibility (3.40 points), Priority (4.55 points) and Comprehensiveness. (4.40 points). These values justified the need to implement an intervention process to improve self-defense in sailors. In the study, an acceptable concordance prevails among the specialists (0.526). Consultation with specialists shows the need to implement a systematic self-defense training process at the Naval High School. The indicators of relevance, feasibility, priority and comprehensiveness are presented as positive in the design of a prospective process to provide professional improvement to Ecuadorian naval personnel in the aspect of self-defense.
