For the selection of probable sports talents, several determination procedures have been presented with indicators, based on physical capacities, including strength. Strength makes it possible to oppose endurance by means of muscular tension. This is a physical capacity, the basis of sports performance, so it is useful to establish its evolution in the stages of sports initiation from a specialized methodological perspective. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to determine the dynamics of the growth times of the strength capacity, in the age group between 6-12 years old in both genders. A descriptive-analytical type of research is used, three strength determination tests are applied (jump without impulse running, 30s abdominals and 30s elbow flexion) to a representative sample of 412 girls and 633 boys between 6-12 years of age from the 24 provinces of Ecuador, determining the growth rates of the physical capacity of strength in Ecuadorian children in the mentioned age range, both genders.

Introduction: The game in boys and girls occurs in a natural way because it is used as a means of preparation for life and as a means of education. That is why many authors state categorically that "the child learns by playing and by playing he becomes fit for life". Objective: This research has as objective to elaborate a set of adapted games to favor the work with spatial orientation in boys and girls from the " Antonio Briones Montoto" primary school in the Bayamo municipality, from which a sample of 24 first grade students enrolled in the primary school who have problems in spatial orientation was taken as an object of study.Materials and method: In order to fulfill the objective, theoretical methods ( analytical-synthetic, hypothetical-deductive and documentary review) , empirical ( observation, survey, experiment and test to evaluate spatial orientation) and statistical mathematical methods were used. . Results: As a result, six adapted games are offered in correspondence with the particularities of the studied population, which will allow the work with the spatial orientation of the mentioned population. Conclusion: The analyzed theoretical and methodological foundations allowed determine and adapt the games to favor the development of the spatial orientation in the Physical education class.

The research refers to a study of the profitability of the freestyle turning action in school swimmers. The objective of the research was focused on evaluating the temporal characteristics during the action of the turn in swimmers of the 13 and 14 years old category in the province of Sancti Spíritus. For the collection of information, the empirical level methods used were: scientific observation, as well as measurement. Two video cameras, placed in series, and a Sony underwater camera were used. For the temporal analysis, the Kinovea software, ver 0.9.3, was used. The 15 m test was applied to check the profitability of the turn. It was possible to verify a poor effectiveness of this technical element in the freestyle in the swimmers evaluated, which showed, in a generalized way, deficiencies during the impulse phase and the formation of very open angles of the legs that favored a deficit in the use of the power of the legs during the wall push, This aspect helped to decrease the sliding and to begin to perform the exit movements to the surface prematurely, increased the time in general in the execution of the turn, concluding that for the school categories it is appropriate to obtain angles between the ankle, knee and hip joints in the range of 90° and 110° at the moment of initiating the wall push.

Annually, calls are opened for young applicants to the different military training schools; for this, there are certain requirements for the selection of the most qualified personnel for access to these institutions. Among them, various demands related to physical fitness. The objective of the research is to determine the levels and differences in physical fitness between two independent groups of applicants for entrance tests at an Ecuadorian military school. The study is descriptive-correlational with a quantitative approach, carried out in a population of (N=40) young people aspiring to a Military Educational School with similar fitness. These are classified into two independent groups with 20 members each (LN: Liceo Naval; CNC: Colegio Nacional Conocoto). The physical fitness was evaluated through three tests of the National Army of Ecuador. In order to correlate data, the parametric Student’s t test was used for independent samples (p≤0.05) in the elbow and hip flexion and extension tests and the 3219 m endurance test. There were significant differences between the two groups evaluated in each test (p=0.000), which were better means in the group of LN applicants compared to the CNC group. Specifically, the Liceo Naval presented better indicators of physical fitness and, in general, a lack of physical fitness was identified by the applicants of the two independent schools, characterized by low levels of physical activity. This aspect has a negative impact on the results of the admission tests to Ecuadorian military academies.

Introduction: The handball goalkeeper must have an excellent physical condition to overcome the multiple current demands of the game. In the offensive game, there is an increase in the speed of the actions, strength and endurance of the players and a high technical-tactical background, among others, so the goalkeepers need to highlight the specific speed in their position in which are the defensive movements before the shots on goal. Objective: The present study aimed to design a test for the evaluation and control of the specific speed of the goalkeepers of the Cuban national handball team. The three goalkeepers of the Cuban national handball team who were preparing for the 2012-2016 Olympic cycle, and who later attended the Pan American Championship in Havana, 2015, participated in the research. Materials and methods: Theoretical and empirical methods were used, such as functional structural systemic, direct observation and measurement. Results: The results of the analyses carried out in the study were presented. According to the observations made during the training sessions, it was found that there was no instrument to evaluate and control the specific speed of the goalkeepers' position, they were included in the control and evaluation of the field players; therefore, there was no assessment of the state of this essential capacity in this position in handball. Conclusions: After the application of the test and the evaluation of the specialists and the members of the national handball commission, the Test was incorporated into the Comprehensive Preparation Program for the Athlete of the discipline due to the results achieved in an ascending manner by the goalkeepers during the preparation and competition.

Recovery is a functional state of the athlete once the physical stimulus stops, which is essential for the bioadaptation of the organism. Functional training, by simulating an activity of daily life in an integral way, can be used for muscle recovery, and is an alternative for post-competition recovery in beginner soccer players. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate whether functional training allows post-competition recovery in U12 soccer players. The research is transversal-correlational, of qualitative orientation, it studies a population of 21 U-12 soccer players, to whom an intervention proposal with functional exercises was implemented, the fatigue index was measured in two moments of the preparation and the criteria of 13 specialists were consulted. The seven phases of the Bangsbo test (Pretest) decreased their effectiveness as the tests went on (Test 1: 7.35s; Test 7: 6.99s) and in the posttest, the effectiveness was better (Min: 7.59s to Max: 7.86s), the fatigue index was reduced by 1 % (from 1.55s to 0.78s). On the other hand, the specialists did not consider that functional training has a significant influence on post competition recovery (Low and Medium 2.54points). The application of functional training evidenced improvements in the fatigue index, it is an effective alternative for post competition recovery in U-12 soccer, although the specialists consulted from the theoretical point of view have not considered the importance of functional training to optimize the processes of organic recovery.

The objective of this research is to know how the application of multiple intelligences, as a teaching strategy, affects the development of cognitive-motor skills and socio-affective attitudes in the subject of Physical Education during the pandemic. The approach of this study was quantitative-qualitative, with an experimental design. For this, a training workshop on multiple intelligences was proposed and applied, as a learning strategy, to a seventh grade Physical Education teacher in a private institution in the city of Quito, implementing this knowledge in parallel A classes as an experimental group. In the evaluation, it was observed that there is a better level of learning in this experimental group, compared to the control group. As a conclusion, it should be noted that Physical Education teachers should include multiple intelligences as a learning strategy in planning and evaluations due to the improvement in educational processes. This proposal allows cooperative work, integration and inclusion, in addition, it favors the rhythm and way of learning of students through the execution of cognitive, social, affective and motor activities. These intelligences improve learning and generate in students the autonomy of physical activity for life, in practice.

The evaluation of cortical e activation, an indicator of central fatigue, constitutes a demanded procedure for the psychological control of training in high-performance athletes in Cuba. However, most of the studies carried out do not address the relationship between this variable and moods, although the impact that the latter have on the performance of the athlete, on their health status, among other variables, has been demonstrated. The incipient knowledge in this regard has limited the performance of more comprehensive psychopedagogical interventions during the psychological control of training. The present work aimed to verify the relationship between the level of cortical activation and moods. The sample consisted of 10 judokas from the Cuban women's national judo team. Cortical activation was measured during six training sessions using the Flicker, before and after the loads were delivered. Moods were assessed before beginning each training session with the Interactive Moods Profile. Data were processed using Student's T for related samples, Pearson's and Spearman's correlation coefficient, frequency distributions, and descriptive statistics. The main results showed that in the moods variable, vigor prevails, which evaluation was high before starting the training sessions, the presence of fatigue was also evidenced, while the level of cortical activation showed the expected behavior that produced a significant increase in the same after load, confirming a very weak correlation between both variables.

Introduction: Spinal cord injury is considered a trauma that influences all aspects of life, reduces physical abilities and restricts the person in their daily work. One of the main consequences derived from spinal cord injury is the limitation at the level of mobility, which includes walking and transfers. Objective: To describe how the CIREN physical exercise program influences gait and transfers in spinal cord injured patients. Materials and methods: According to the methodological design, the type of study is experimental, according to the study method, it is observational taking into account the time of occurrence of the events and the recording of the information. For the development of the research, a sample of 15 patients with injury levels between T1 and T6 who met the inclusion criteria was selected. Results: Statistically significant changes in gait and transfers were observed in the group; by injury levels, injuries between T1 and T6 did not present changes in stair management and transfers from the floor to the chair; by sex, both men and women did not show statistically significant changes in stair handling and floor-to-chair transfers. Conclusions: The exercise program used in the rehabilitation of patients is effective in being able to produce changes in the activities related to walking and transfers. Rehabilitation time should be increased for injuries above T6.

This article presents a critical review of some of the main arguments put forward by detractors and defenders in the so-called boxing debate. It examines the positions put forward by prominent representatives of medico-legal activism in favor of the total abolition of boxing and particularly confronts the myth of the savage and irrational nature of the sport. This conception is contrasted with the ethnographic approach proposed by Lois Wacquant and his mentor, Pierre Bourdieu, on the existence of a pugilistic rationality forged in the boxer's bodily habitus. Important aspects of the problem are discussed, such as the fact that pedagogy, through which boxing is taught, is far from being conscious, reflective, theorizing and intellectualistic (which feeds the appearance of a supposed absence of training and cultivation of a knowledge that is eminently practical). It also shows the duality of medical argumentation by subtly moving from the epistemic plane to the ethical-moral plane and the implications that such opacity entails. The aim of the article is not to close the controversy to the detriment of the concerns of the medical-health sector, but to show the philosophical complexity that underlies it.
