Resumen
Specialized texts have studied the relationship between journalism and literature, but have not considered another important fusion: photography and literary journalism. The conjunction of these two text types, visual and written, particularly when both approach their subject from an aesthetic angle, increases journalistic efficiency. In the same way that a writer uses a series of linguistic resources to construct text, the photographer uses techniques to do the same. KRAMER describes the characteristics of literary journalism and we will consider whether it is possible to adapt these features to photojournalism. The present paper describes some prime guidelines that literary journalism shares with photojournalism, and highlights the fact that without photographic analysis of the images in literary journalistic texts, the study of this kind of story is incomplete.

Resumen
This paper analyzes the media arrival of media mogul Rupert Murdoch in the United States. We focus on the ties with the American conservative movement and the Republican Party, and on those ties’ consequences regarding the ideological landscape of American media. Murdoch’s business past is taken into account, as well as the country Murdoch comes from, and the process of media acquisition in the United States. We also focus on the way certain media owned by Murdoch have worked as a media voice for certain factions of the American right. In this regard, Fox News Channel can be cited as a paradigmatic mass medium. Murdoch’s support for Republican candidates in the presidential elections of 2000, 2004, and 2008, is regarded as a political extension of his ideological support for the right-wing.

Resumen
The press in India began its journey when the country was still a British colony in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The modern press appeared after India´s independence in 1947 but it’s only starting from the eighties, due to the liberalization measures of Rajiv Gandhi’s government, that it experienced a strong development. At present and as opposed to what is occurring in Western countries, the written media is witnessing a major development both in the number of readers as well as in the number of newspapers published, especially due to the rise of a literate middle class eager to learn and consume news that appeals to their interests and new lifestyle.

Resumen
This study aims to examine how the Spanish press reports on the topic of childhood overweight and obesity in a 120-item sample complied from the online editions of three major Spanish newspapers (ABC, El Mundo, El País) between 1 January and 30 June 2008. A content analysis provided valuable data related to 1) the frequency and distribution of news regarding childhood overweight and obesity, and 2) the contents presented during the six-month period. The topics of foods and eating habits (n=22; 18.3%) and the incidence of childhood overweight and obesity (n=18; 15%) were prevalent throughout the study period. All three daily papers published articles related to Spaniards’ mental health, the death of an obese 5-year old in Murcia and “miracle” diets in the months of March, April and May, respectively.

Resumen
This paper exposes the theoretical framework that underpin a study on literary criticism in press. There is a theoretical discussion of authors such as Terry EAGLETON, Jurgen HABERMAS, Albert CHILLON and others that have developed an approach on the subject. It also seeks to situate discussion in the context, specifically Chilean.
