Resumen
The objective of this research is to quantify the relationship between emotional intelligence and performance in mathematics (numerical-variational thinking and geometric-metric thinking) in first-year engineering students at the Instituto Tecnológico de Hermosillo located in the state of Sonora, Mexico. The research is supported by the theory of emotional intelligence of Reuven Bar-On and in the “Mathematical Knowledge and Skills Test” with reference framework of the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education. The methodology is quantitative. Linear correlation was applied to find the degree of relationship between the variables emotional intelligence and mathematics; through the one-way analysis of variance, the socio-school context factors associated with performance in mathematics and emotional intelligence were determined; and with the cluster analysis of K-means, the profiles of the student were generated by performance in mathematics: acceptable, intermediate and deficient; the finding concluded implies that the schooling of the student’s mother, the student’s general high school average and the school of origin are related to numerical-variational and geometric-metric thoughts; the finding of a weak relationship between emotional intelligence with numerical-variational and geometric-metric thoughts is also concluded.

Resumen
The Covid-19 pandemic not only mobilized the sanitary and health fields, for the Universities also had to rethink and adopt emerging measures that could enable to continue with the educational programs without affecting the members of the schooling process; that is why several institutions decided to adopt digital platforms in which they could teach virtual classes, however, not all of them have the accessibility required by a student with disability. This paper analyzes the viability of the MS Teams platform as an educational strategy adopted by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León as an emerging measure to the Covid-19 pandemic. Through a case study were obtained the perspective of five deft students, who are part of the inclusion program of the Mechanical and Electrician Engineering School. The results obtained show the way in which students with hearing disabilities make accessible their class by themselves, either with the use of technological tools and even extracurricular work to implement subtitles in recorded sessions, so they can be reviewed later. The conclusions allow us to identify an opportunity area in the analysis of streaming and remote work platforms used as emerging measure during the pandemic...

Resumen
This article is a summary of an academic master’s research that addresses the use of problem solving in initial mathematics teacher training. This work aims to present the results regarding the observation of the epistemic concepts of teachers in initial training in the context of solving didactic situations, which address the content of Number Sequences, according to the assumptions of the Theory of Didactical Situations supported by GeoGebra software. The methodology followed the stages of Didactic Engineering that was used in the planning of didactic situations and data analysis, creating a teaching and training environment with direct participation in problem-solving and knowledge construction. From the analysis of an application, it was found as a result the manifestation of other comprehension skills of understanding the subject of Number Sequences that were not expected in the a priori analysis, as well as another discovery was the satisfaction of using the GeoGebra application on the cell phone to solve problems. It is concluded that working with problems from the Mathematics Olympics helped in the initial training of mathematics teachers, either in the elaboration of conjectures, in the deepening of the contents, and the development of strategies during the problem-solving action.

Resumen
This article shows the results of a systematic review of the literature on teaching strategies and experimentation experiences used in science teaching to analyze the contribution of the use of modern scientific concepts, and the development of skills in science and technology, showing as well the integration and solution of problems and laboratory practices that facilitate dialogue and the presentation of one’s ideas, in addition to obtaining information on the desirable characteristics that technological tools or devices applied to education that favor the development of scientific skills in students should consider. The conformation of the study corpus was carried out using logical Boolean operators in the Scopus and Dialnet databases. The grouping-analysis criteria were teaching strategies and school laboratory or experimentation experiences. The results show that the didactic strategies used do contribute to the development of scientific skills and basic concepts in science. School experimentation activities based or not on technology such as virtual, remote, or electronic laboratories facilitate the experience of scientific inquiry at school, having problem-solving as an area of opportunity.

Resumen
With the idea of exploring the current condition of teaching statistics in Mexican higher secondary education (HSE), the objective of this article is to identify the approach of teaching statistics promoted by syllabuses of this discipline in HSE. Based on the theoretical ideas of the statistical literacy, reasoning and thinking approaches, a set of indicators were constructed to analyze, following a documentary research technique, eight statistics syllabuses of the main HSE subsystems in the country. The results show that, although the syllabuses show elements of the three approaches, most of these programs seem to promote teaching aimed at the development of elements of a statistical literacy. The importance of some conditions of statistics teaching in HSE are highlighted and a teaching that promotes elements of statistical reasoning and thinking is discussed.

Resumen
The educational path of doctoral students to carry out their research is accompanied by complex academic reading processes; however, there is scarce research that carries out an analysis in this regard, and about the pedagogical function the thesis supervisor can perform to promote the development of this type of reading. Given this situation, in this essay, based on an analysis of studies that focus or are like this topic, the challenges that doctoral students need to face when carrying out different types of reading according to the different processes of their research are made visible. Likewise, pedagogical resources that can be applied by thesis supervisors are addressed to contribute to the development of an academic reading focused on research, in which the training process of the doctoral student is considered. In addition to this, the need to carry out studies that allow a greater understanding of the academic reading processes of the doctoral students is pointed out, as well as the development of systematized pedagogical strategies that the thesis supervisor can apply to favor them, in accordance with the training process of the student and his disciplinary field.
