Resumen
Biofuels currently represent a potential source of renewable energy. As well as that could lead to major new markets for farmers. However, only some of the current biofuel programs are feasible, and most involve high social costs and environmental ironically. The economic, environmental and social impacts of biofuels are widely debated and needs to be carefully assessed before extending public support to programs of biofuels on a large scale. The country strategy on biofuels should be based on a thorough assessment of these opportunities and costs in the medium and long term. One factor to consider is that oil reserves will run out, experts say, in fifty years. This article presents the social and economic impact of biofuel production in industrialized countries and developing countries that are or could become, efficient producers in export markets and profitable new.

Resumen
Technology transfer (or sharing) is a common way to share external sources. There have been many studies on the relationship of self-R&D and technology transfer regarding its theoretical background and its efficiency. This present research has been developed by examining how a concrete measure of a company or a firm's real performance (increased sales ratio; growth rate) is related to the variables of resources and capabilities using the resource-based theory and open innovation model. The approach of this research is unique in that it examines a sample comprising of licensing-in and technological cooperation variables, categorizes forms according to industry, and looks at such unique variables as a "process" (the ratio of CEO's and related-person's stocks). The data on 361 Korean firms was gathered from Korea's Data Analysis, Retrieval, and Transfer System and Worldwide Intellectual Property Search. Findings show that human, technology, and fixed assets are related positively to financial performance, and searching, absorbing, and openness capabilities as a control effect is related positively to a firm's increased sales ratio. Strategic plans for technology transfer companies are also included in this research.

Resumen
In order to develop innovations, companies are establishing University-Industry (U-I) relations which are explained in theories like the Triple Helix. Maybe this traditional view it is not enough to describe what happens in Brazil. Followed by a growth of articles published internationally, companies in technologically stable industries seem to be incorporating high-tech outcomes from universities, boosting sectors that once were apparently inert. This research will propose a different approach on U-I relations, focusing on the Knowledge Flow. Results show that agriculture companies are increasing their relations as much as engineering companies. Such relations are mainly based on raw technologies or applied solutions. Start-up firms’ relations are mainly based on informal contacts and patents are not used to protect technologies. The Silent Run shows that companies which appear to be technologically stable are now upgrading trough U-I, and patents does not seem to be the first option when protecting new technologies

Resumen
The aim of this study was to identify the factors that influence in configuration of the technological capability of companies in sectors with medium-low technological intensity. To achieve the goal proposed in this article a survey was carried out. Based on the framework developed by Lall (1992) which classifies firms in basic, intermediate and advanced level of technological capability; it was found that the predominant technological capability is intermediate, with 83.7% of respondent companies (plastics companies in Brazil). It is believed that the main contribution of this study is the finding that the dependent variable named “Technological Capability” can be explained at a rate of 65% by six variables: development of new processes; selection of the best equipment supplier; sales of internally developed new technology to third parties; design and manufacture of equipment; study of the work methods and perform inventory control; and improvement of product quality.

Resumen
The power of patent is expressed when the innovative product or process goes to market, and the exclusive right that patent ensures generates the market power, and the holder possibility to obtain competitive advantage over competitors. Thus, it becomes compelling the discussions on the universities need for transformation of patent applications efforts into granted patents, which could be negotiated with a higher degree of juridical certainty and, consequently, higher value added. To establish an Index of Patents Granting, and understand the importance of Technological Innovation Nuclei for the increase of this index, it was developed a survey on the number of patents granted to Brazilian universities and evaluated the structure of Technological Innovation Nuclei of these universities. From the survey on the granting cases, it was verified that the universities presenting, among other characteristics, better structured Technological Innovation Nuclei stood out.

Resumen
The purpose of the paper is to investigate the technological innovative characteristics in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) belonging to the Italian manufacturing sector. A survey based on e-mail and fax questionnaire of 285 SMEs was conducted with a response rate of about 45%. On the basis of this survey, the innovative profile of SMEs has been highlighted as well as the factors and problems of innovative process analyzed. The methodology consisted in a descriptive analysis on general data and in a discriminant analysis on data related to the innovative activity and aimed at determine the factors distinguishing more and less innovative companies. The results show that innovative firms are market anticipation and customer focus, point to product enrichment in terms of different characteristics in respect to competitors’ products in order to obtain a superior product in terms of quality. Innovation results to be part of their business strategy and is based more around developing new ways of working than new product innovations.

Resumen
A research study was conducted with an objective to understand the Indian consumers’ perception choice in selecting cellular mobile telecommunication service providers. Consumers’ perception is widely varied in accordance with the Communication quality, call service, facilities, price, customer care and service provider’s attributes. A structured questionnaire was developed to collect the required primary data from the consumers. Collected data were analysed, reliability and factor analysis were carried out. The outcome of this research shows a comprehensively integrated framework to understand the relationships among several dimensions. The study shows communication and price were most influential and most preferential factors in selecting telecommunication service provider. However, product quality and availability has a significant impact on consumer perception choice in selecting cellular mobile service provider.

Resumen
Title: CEPCES Method for the Evaluation of Potential EntrepreneurThe paper present a method to evaluate the entrepreneurial potential of a particular project. It is as a technical tool for decision-making mainly institutions that support entrepreneurship. The method uses as a basis a model of how a system is formed around an enterprise, model that systematically relates Entrepreneur, Customers, Suppliers, Competition and the Sociaty, each of these elements together under rated a sum of 50 variables that describe them. The variables are prioritized using AHP method to get their contexts. With CEPCES can be show also the structure of weighted values and principles of an institution that supports entrepreneurship and can be compare with other institutions of similar characteristics.

Resumen
This paper discusses the incentives behind, and effects of open innovation in different stages of an industry life cycle. It argues that in the beginning of an industry life cycle, open innovation policies usually serve the dual purpose of exploring distant knowledge sources, and exploiting potential network effects to strengthen the installed base of a technology. In the later phases of the industry life cycle, after the emergence of a dominant design, open innovation incentives and effects depend largely on the product system architecture. Modularity at different parts of the product system is an important dimension which influences the types of open innovation strategies implemented by firms.
