Introduction: Motivation allows the individual to stay in a given action, enables the effectiveness of pertinent processes for the achievement of a specific or general objective, which in the case of physical activity is related to its systematicity and, therefore, the maintenance of a better lifestyle. Objective: The research focused on diagnosing the motivation towards the practice of physical activities in Assistants of the "Las Piñas" Gerontological Center of the Milagro Canton.Materials and methods: The methodology used responds to a descriptive-explanatory research, of a qualitative nature. With a type of non-probabilistic sampling, 60 older adults are studied as a participating population, classified by gender. An adapted research instrument was used, applying the Rossemberg test as a basis and a valid survey for the measurement of the two variables. Results: The results of the research determined that there is a high percentage of adults who are sedentary, in relation to gender it was found that women have a higher rate of inactivity than men, without significant differences (p=0.982). Another response found is that many older adults find the perception of not being able to keep up with others, illnesses, fear of injury, among others, as limitations to physical activity, being variables of consideration in the prospective design of a strategy playful to improve the quality of life of the samples under study. Conclusions: As part of the conclusions, it is suggested that changes be made in the lifestyle of the older adults studied, the main thing is the motivation that can be instilled in them from home and from families.

Introduction: The concentration of attention is essential in boxing, an activity where the athlete faces an opponent at close range, in a fight that takes place in a limited time, placing high demands on the attention process. Objective: The present study aimed to compare the concentration of attention in boxers category 15 - 16 years of the Sport Initiation School (Eide in Spanish) "Mártires de Barbados" in Havana, before and after the psychological intervention of the process. Materials and methods: The sample consisted of 20 athletes of competitive interest. The evaluation was carried out at two moments during the special preparation stage; the first before carrying out psychological intervention actions of the process and the second after eight weeks carrying them out. For the initial diagnosis, the following techniques were used: Landolt Ring Test, self-assessment scale for athletes, external assessment scale for coaches, interviews with athletes, and structured observation of training and competitions. In the retest, the first three techniques mentioned were repeated. Results: The main results initially obtained were a concentration evaluated as bad and regular in 50 % and 40 % of the sample, respectively, expressed mainly in the repetition of errors already corrected by the coaches and in difficulty in maintaining focus. Post-intervention, an improvement in attention concentration was verified, obtaining a diagnosis of good, very good and excellent in 35 %, 20 % and 20 % of the sample, respectively. Conclusions: It is concluded that the proposed intervention contributed to an improvement in the diagnosis of the process.

Introduction: A biokinematic analysis of gait was performed in patients with hemiplegia, which is the paralysis of one side of the body, recognized in the context of medical sciences and therapeutic physical culture as hemiplegic syndrome. Objective: It consisted of determining the biokinematic modifications that are manifested in the gait of patients with hemiplegia in the "Pedro Díaz Coello" health area of Holguín.Materials and methods: The sample consisted of five patients who received systematic care in the rehabilitation room of the health area of the " Pedro Díaz Coello" polyclinic in the municipality of Holguín. The interviews conducted with medical and physical rehabilitation personnel who work in the health area, with researchers from the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the University of Holguín, the review of normative documents on multidisciplinary work and the observation of rehabilitation sessions, showed the need to address the issue from biomechanics, given the limited quantification of its indicators. In order to analyze the behavior of biokinematic indicators of pathological gait, the videographic technique was used. With the Kinovea software, in version 0.8.27, the controlled indicators were quantified. Results: Together with the qualitative study for each patient, it allowed a comparison of the characteristics of their gait with the normal pattern and the elaboration of a group of recommendations to be considered during the physical rehabilitation process. Conclusions: It was possible to analyze the behavior of the biokinematic indicators of hemiplegic gait in the patients studied, their comparison with normal gait, as well as a set of recommendations to be taken into account in the rehabilitation process

Introduction: At the Cuban Sports Research Center, studies have been carried out to improve the mental representation of poomsae in high sports performance of taekwondo, related to the logical ordering of its technical sequence. However, it is also necessary to assess the dynamic accents of the movement, which are also evaluated in competition. Objective: The objective of this work was to determine, through a test, the level of knowledge of the technical and dynamic component that the athlete possesses in the mental plane of a pre-established exercises complex such as the world taekwondo poomsae Materials and methods: The empirical methods of documentary review and measurement test were used, as well as the theoretical Inductive-deductive and abstraction methods. Likewise, a formula was assumed to determine the effectiveness of the technical and dynamic ordering of the poomsae, as well as the use of statistical procedures of empirical distributions of frequency with percentage distribution. The population was a study of ten taekwondo specialists, of which subject number eight is presented in a case study. Results: Among the fundamental results, omissions of technical order were identified, but also of important dynamic aspects in the internal model of the studied subject that were not previously detected and, now with this proposal, they can be methodologically treated with greater focus to eradicate them. Conclusions: The theoretical referents on the subject of study supported the analyzes and theoretical inferences expressed by the authors about the theoretical feasibility of the test studied, in which a didactic and methodological enrichment of its content and evaluation was appreciated.
