To identify environmental costs in a mining company in order to establish preventive and corrective measures to improve environmental quality. Methodology.A qualitative approach was employed, based on a case study. Results. It was identified that the company recognizes certain environmental costs; however, these are hidden within the general expenses and lack a valuation method allowing to associate them by stages and integrate them into the accounting system of the organization. Conclusion. It is concluded that the organization must recognize the different environmental costs in each of its production stages to prevent, mitigate, control, and counteract the socio-environmental damage caused. Additionally, there is a contribution to enhancing the company’s productive processes so that they become healthier and that environmental quality gradually increases.

Objective. To evaluate whether Colombian small and medium-sized companies in the supermarket industry create economic value added in the period 2014-2020 and whether the outcomes are consistent with their financial performance accounting indicators. Methodology. A static and trend analysis of growth, efficiency, efficacy, effectiveness, economic value added and market value added indicators is performed. Results. SME supermarkets outperform small businesses in accounting performance because they are more effective in managing costs and expenses and more efficient in the administration of assets, despite using less positive financial leverage. Also, SME supermarkets create added economic value: the small one in six years and the medium one in four. Conclusions.Comparing the overall supermarket industry to SMEs reveals that the former is less effective for being less efficacious and efficient, and uses less financial leverage; additionally, each year this sector destroys economic value added.

One of the great challenges in the post-COVID-19 pandemic teaching-learning process corresponds to the critical thinking of the actors involved in the process (both teachers and students). In fact, when doing an online search, you will find millions of articles and scientific documents written in various languages in line with this theme; However, the question also comes up again: do you have critical thinking? One of the great challenges in the post-COVID-19 pandemic teaching-learning process corresponds to the critical thinking of the actors involved in the process (both teachers and students). In fact, when doing an online search, you will find millions of articles and scientific documents written in various languages in line with this theme; However, the question also comes up again: do you have critical thinking? Perhaps you —or the educational institution in which you work— have the same position as Hawes (2003). This author clearly states that "developing the capacity for autonomous and critical thinking is a major commitment of university education and a social expectation of professionals who graduate from it" (p. 5).

Education during the pandemic was adapted to new work methodologies, the initial level had to face the teaching-learning processes in the face of various technological devices, the game-work methodology that is taught in classrooms was left aside and incorporated new educational processes at home with digital tools, for this reason, this research analyzes the influence of virtuality in the teaching-learning process at the initial level. This study had a quantitative approach with a descriptive scope. The technique was the survey and the instrument: questionnaire, with multiple choice questions, addressed to teachers and parents, as direct actors in the teaching of children, where the advantages and disadvantages of the virtual modality in the educational process. The results of the surveys of nursery school teachers indicated that the influence on learning was negative in the virtual modality, because the teaching performance was truncated by the lack of training, connectivity failures, asynchronous classes, lack of digital resources, while the results of the parent surveys indicated that the influence was positive on the learning of their sons and daughters, because the institution provided all the necessary tools for the virtual modality to be optimal. Finally, it is concluded that institutions must have adequate technological resources to develop the digital skills of all educational actors, but it is also urgent that teachers challenge, overcome and incorporate ICT in education

If the concept of the right to communication is observed in a primary sense, understood as the possibility that every human being has at birth and makes use of the various expressive variants such as verbal language, gestures, looks, sounds, etc., Should we consider the need to promote a right to communication for the exercise of citizenship? As is widely known, this primary use of communication becomes more complex when power relations, ideologies, governments, media monopolies, among other elements, intervene in societies. Therefore, the process goes from being noticed as something natural to an element to which attention must be paid and which must be considered within the fundamental rights of human beings, recognized by society as a whole. This work aims to address and make a historical journey and the currents of power throughout Latin America and Ecuador, during the last five decades to address and learn about the rights and access to communication and information to achieve its democratization with the citizen participation.
