During the Argentine 80’s, there was an abundance of travel accounts (Cané, Estrada, Groussac, etc.), a genre that could be defined as the work of men -who left impressions on the occasion of their travels, generally to Europe, for pleasure or diplomatic work- if Eduarda Mansilla's Recuerdos de viaje (1882) had not been published. This work by one of the most important writers of 19th century Rioplatense culture is the only account of an experience in the United States during the Civil War written by a woman of the period. The text is relevant because it provides nuances, from its inherent and permeating gender perspective, allowing the statutes of the aesthetic journey, topicalised by critics to address the men of the 80’s, to be de-centred. In her journey, a sophisticated woman narrator, with her savoir faire, admiring the civil and labour freedoms of American women, yet not always, dwells on the leitmotif of cultural otherness when analysing the politics and ethnic conflict. The fine irony of the multi-focal gaze of the foreigner, porteña and woman of the world, who is, at the same time, the woman narrator; overflows the text with contrasts where the Union is the axis of distancing and model seduction.

Nos proponemos analizar la producción de tres escritoras viajeras/migrantes. Dos europeas de distintas épocas: Lina Beck Bernard (mitad del S. XIX) y Laura Pariani (segunda mitad del S. XX) y una argentina con residencia en Europa: Cecilia Prenz (entre siglos). Las tres en sus desplazamientos hacia y desde la Argentina, vivieron de modo personal la experiencia del contacto de mundos, generando en sus ficcionalizaciones y textos autobiográficos, una particular mirada (es) trábica (Crolla, 2008-2014). Para ello proponemos ampliar la categoría de “discursos migrantes” y “escritores migrantes” hacia la reflexión sobre el modo cómo la mujer conquista un espacio de escritura “otro” cruzando fronteras desde la mirada, la lectura y el discurso. Y en donde la traslación física y el contacto físico con “lo otro” determina posicionamientos políticos, estéticos y lingüísticos altamente significantes en sus propias tras/laciones discursivas.

Este trabajo se propone, por una parte, rescatar la producción de Cesarina Lupati, escritora y periodista italiana (1877-1957), y, por otra, analizar los textos vinculados con sus viajes a la Argentina entre 1908 y 1912, aproximadamente, entre los cuales se incluyen principalmente Vita argentina. Argentina e Italiani al Plata osservati da una donna italiana (1910) y algunos artículos dispersos en periódicos y revistas. El objetivo es recuperar una producción sumergida y marginada en los dos espacios culturales, atendiendo especialmente su singularidad y su posición frente al fenómeno ‘e(in)migratorio’ italiano en la Argentina. Se espera reconstruir desde el comparatismo las diferentes representaciones identitarias y las perspectivas ideológicas de esta escritura y, en lo específico, delinear las configuraciones del género discursivo relacionado con el viaje y declinado por la voz femenina.

La presente comunicación enmarca la “pre-historia” o “vida extra-textual” de Catalina de Erauso “previa a su huida del convento” de San Sebastián en tanto su relato de viajes habilita un espacio de escritura que tensiona y desenmascara vínculos entre “etnia”- la vasca-, “raza”- la española-, y “educación” - conventual-. Su única obra, esa  Historia de la Monja Alférez… contada por ella misma, nace de la propia voluntad autorial de una Catalina que dialoga autobiográficamente a través de la memoria con su pasado en el que la vida, vivencias y experiencias en  el convento le dejaron sus huellas a nivel personal, corporal y literario.

Ada María Elflein Schwarz (1880-1919) was an Argentine writer, daughter of German parents. This granted her the possibility of having a view of Argentina that comes partly from her parents, and partly from her own experience. Being a teacher, journalist, storyteller, she was related to the leading elite of Argentina at the time, while she had a respectable place within the country's German community. Her travel stories, written in Spanish, show a feminine view of the journey. She was an intrepid traveler, she dared to move like a man and get to places that were hard to reach, which, through her word, became possible for the women of the time. Her hybrid origin is enhanced by her writing of travel stories -a border writing by nature- and, even more, by her feminine gaze, which is clearly present in what is described and narrated.

Through the concept and the phenomenon of fashion, this article is aimed at  focusing on the articulation between novelty and the outdated as a sequence that is key to understanding the existence of the human and the non-human in the society of capitalist acceleration. The problematic is developed on the basis of Leopardi's operetta, Dialogue of Fashion and Death. Novelty and death belong to the grammar of fashion, which the enlightened figure of progress threads into transience as the very form of its historical production. Leopardi’s Dialogue has its continuity both in the literature of Rilke and in the positions of Baudelaire, Tarde, Simmel and Benjamin. The passage from the materialization of fashion to its morphology reveals itself as the accelerated flight of time, which manifests itself in the ephemerality of capitalist mercantile fetishism. Fashion succeeds in transforming acceleration into habit, even at the cost of life itself, pushing existence into an infernal destiny.

The following article is focused on  two poems that, despite the temporal, spatial and critical reception distance in which they have been created, propose a deep reflection on a common thematic axis: the absence of motherhood. These are the poems: "La mujer estéril", by Gabriela Mistral (Chile, 1889-1957), published in Desolación (1922) and "Trunca", from the book Verdades como criptas (1980), by Susana Romano from Cordoba, Argentina (1947). I also add the contribution of the “Motherhood” section of the book Lecturas para mujeres, published by Gabriela Mistral in Mexico in 1924. It is known that Gabriela Mistral's poetry has been widely studied by critics of different times and orientations; on the contrary, Susana Romano’s had a more limited diffusion and reception, but no less significance in terms of the scope and depth of her aesthetic proposal. This rereading, that takes place in the second decade of the 21st century, when many paths around the theme raised by both poems placed in parallel have already been traveled, implies a challenge and a daring, a challenge accepted by me in order to try to understand their reflections and bring the readers of "today" an exquisite poetic material.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo dar una breve panorámica por un lado de errores y por otro de elecciones acertadas en traducciones al italiano de obras literarias en lengua española. Los ejemplos sirven como primer paso para establecer reglas destinadas a fundamentar y proteger la tarea de la traducción literaria, la cual es cada vez más necesaria en la cultura contemporánea. A través de ejemplos específicos, se muestra una serie de trampas en que han caído varios traductores, incluso algunos expertos, y por otra parte algunas soluciones excelentes de expresiones muy difíciles de trasladar a otra lengua. Como consecuencia surgen las primeras reglas: en primer lugar, el traductor debe conocer perfectamente la lengua de origen y la lengua de destino, con sus variantes geográficas y coloquiales; en segundo lugar debe estar muy informado sobre el contexto histórico-cultural y social de la obra que va a traducir, de manera que pueda reproducir con claridad los mensajes internos, sin caer en errores de interpretación.
