This work aims to identify the socioeconomic determinants of the labor market in an important sector of the city of Manta, which presents conditions of vulnerability. For this, the Biprobit model is used, taking into account the relationship between supply (underemployment) and demand (informality) with respect to the labor market. Among the main findings are that the size of the household affects informality and underemployment. In addition, informality is determined by socioeconomic factors such as gender, household size, and manufacturing industries; and the variable underemployment, by age, household size, minors in the household, income without salary, and productive activities such as agriculture, water distribution, transportation and storage, construction and commerce.

The author essayically discusses the futility of the figure of the Previous Consultation, as expressed in the Ecuadorian and Bolivian Magna Cartas, as long as it does not produce a legal obligation on the State. It is argued that the previous consultation does nothing more than generate a "calligraphic" reference, that is, not a real political force, which puts the environment and the Amerindian eco-culture at risk by the mining and hydrocarbon companies in protected territories.

Our approach is a critical reflection on the concept of link between university and society and the implications of this relationship. Understanding that the social function to which the higher education institutions are due to respond to the demands of the various actors of society, the objective of this work is to show that the link with the community is the main axis on which the relevance and the raison d'être of the university are sustained. For this, the methodology of the case study is used, taking Ecuador as an emblematic example of the current situation of Latin American higher education.

We reflect on the personological understanding of the role concept, as a part of the personological approach to the lifestyle concept. To do this, we start from the contributions of functionalism and symbolic interactionism, as well as its use in social psychology, where the socio-historical determination can be better highlighted. This perspective gives value to singularity and transversality of the role system concept as an unit of analysis governing lifestyle. The personological understanding of role system reveals the generative and configurational character of individual subjectivity and constitutes a complementary alternative in the transdisciplinary understanding of the role concept itself.

Introduction: This study is part of a community project between the University of Guayaquil and the Non-Governmental Organization Norwegian Alliance Mission, in Ecuador. It engages with vulnerable and low-income sectors in Guayaquil, whose work stems from a diagnostic of the physical, technical, and anthropometric conditions of adolescents in Trinidad de Dios, Monte Sinai.Aim: To diagnose the physical, technical, and anthropometric status of 11-12-year-old children in the community of Monte Sinai, Guayaquil, for recreational soccer practice.Materials and methods: The empirical methods used were measurement and survey, the Bangsbo sprint test, 10 x 5 speed test, the ball-carrying test, and the Body Weight Index (BWI).Results: Several considerations for the practice of soccer during the leisure time of the age group studied. Conclusions: There is high motivation to perform sports activities during the leisure time, along with a priority especially oriented to soccer practice, which favors the implementation of a project for the recreational practice of the sport by the group of individuals in the study.

Introduction: Baseball coach training through competency-based education entails a change of paradigm in traditional education to cope with the challenges posed by several contexts with the necessary knowledge.Aim: To design a set of parameters for the study of socio-emotional competencies in U-15 and Junior baseball coaches at the Cerro Pelado Starters Sports Academy, in Camagüey.Materials and methods: The research was conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year. A group of ten coaches selected by intentional sampling from the U-15 and Junior baseball categories at the Cerro Pelado Starters Sports Academy was diagnosed after shortcomings observed in terms of team cohesion and feeling of belonging, which hindered adequate cohesion and interpersonal relations involving coaches, directors, and athletes. Results: The study demonstrated that the social and emotional factors are present apparently in the sports scenario. Hence, postgraduate education must consider and assume committed development of socio-affective competencies, to train professionally competent coaches and directors. Conclusions: The inclusion of the parameters designed and the ensuing diagnostic demonstrated the existence of theoretical-methodological shortcomings associated with socio-emotionally-competency-based education in the baseball team coaches and directors.

Introduction: The technical fundamentals of basketball consist of the movements a basketball player acquires throughout training, which are basic because they constitute the pillar of the whole game. Following a strict project, there are four fundamentals: dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive movements.Aim: To determine the set of exercises to help acquire the technical fundamentals of basketball in eighth-graders. Materials and Methods: This experimental study relied on a pre-experiment consisting of pre-test and post-test studies. Results: The main empirical methods applied were survey and measurement, through the specific motor skills test. The efficacy of the exercises suggested was checked through the Shapiro Wild normality test, and the Wilcoxon range test. Conclusions: As a result of the comparison of the three tests during the pre-test and post-test, the P-value < α=0.05 (asymptotic Sig. 0.01, 0.02, and 0.02), with significant differences between the number of errors made by the players after the application of the exercise system proposed.

Introduction: The contents in this article on ludic activities enabled the optimization of basic motors skills in Physical Education classes, including varied activities that will help enhance motor movements of the subjects in the study.Aim: to validate a system of ludic activities for optimizing the basic motor movements of 6th graders at the Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil school.Materials and methods: This research consisted in a descriptive-correlational study of two independent groups (Control group: ten students, and experimental group: ten students). The control group was under the traditional system of participation in ludic activities, whereas the experimental group was given a new variant of ludic activities. Previously, a theoretical validation of the intervention proposal was made by 15 national and international specialists, who assessed four indicators (Validity “V”, Integrability “I”, Accessibility “A”, Variety “Va”).Results: Upon the analysis of every parameter, the W Kendall test revealed a level of concordance among high-level specialists (w=0.376), with significant differences of the individual scoring by parameter analyzed. The asymptotic significance level (p=0.001˂0.05), showed a high level of concordance among specialists, in relation to the qualities of the ludic activity system.
