This article focuses on the approach to the male demand for female prostitution in the Spanish context and it analyzes how the periodicity of prostitution consumption influences the perception and subjective identification of men with respect to prostitution. A difference has been established between the typology of eventual clients who do not identify with the consumption of prostitution, and therefore, in their self-representation there is a disidentification with respect to this practice. And, on the other hand, regular customers who perceive prostitution as a part of their identity and as a relatively everyday element.

The present investigation of exploratory scope was carried out under the framework of social psychology and the paradigmatic and epistemological framework of critical constructionism, whose objective was understand the relationship between graphic humor on the identity and subjective well-being of women users of Facebook and Instagram from different Spanish-speaking countries. Objective was achieved by the following of a qualitative methodological design guided by netnography, content analysis and critical discourse analysis (ACD), techniques that were adjusted and designed to meet the needs of the investigation and the specific objectives of the same. Initially, it evidences that women are being represented through pieces of graphic humor published on these social networks and those are perpetuating social and gender stereotypes socially accepted. It put the woman at a disadvantage compared to the male gender, because women are representated like a sexual object, affecting their subjective well-being and identity construction. On the other hand, it evidences how the same graphic humor has been consolidated as a means of expression for them, like a discursive resistance, as a way of make a complaint by presenting counter-narratives and strengthening female sisterhood; The results allow to contribute and ratify what was stated by the majority of research in the line of gender studies, but this time from psychology.

The sport practised by women, with a scarce (and limited) number, suffered a stagnation during the Civil War and the first Franco regime in the Canary Islands. Although education and social changes had meant an emancipation of women’s domestic work and a greater role in the different areas of the social sphere, with the arrival of the war a gray stage began for the sport practiced by women. The research provides a bibliographic and newspaper review of the press of the time. Specifically, the social history of sport is addressed, to focus a position according to the context. This work compiles and analyzes the articles published on women and sport in the Canary Islands newspapers between the years 1936 and 1959. We are interested in studying this period since it is when physical education becomes compulsory for women of a certain age. Results shows that sport was a tool of political control during the period studied, to instil in women the Catholic national feminine ideal and transform their moral, social and aesthetic activities, proposing an involution in the sport lived up to now. In addition, this investigation reveals the veto of some sports against the obligation to practice physical education, always under the control of the Women’s Section. Likewise, the social history of sport is addressed, in order to center a position in accordance with the context and the informative treatment of the media of the moment in relation to the practice of sports by women.

This work deals with the convergences between feminists and Madres dePlaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires throughout history, seen from a women’s history perspective.Whilst a broad context is considered, the study focuses on the final years of the dictatorship and the first years of democracy that followed –between 1982 and 1986, precisely–, a point intime in which feminism in Buenos Aires was readjusting within the public sphere and humanrights organisations were opening to other social organisations, which included some Madresde Plaza de Mayo mothers approaching feminist initiatives and propositions. Convergences aswell as tensions risen between feminist activists and Madres de Plaza de Mayo members areapproached by analysing several sources (oral and written testimonies, press releases anddocumentation belonging to the organisations, mainly) and revising available bibliography onthe subject, considering that both feminisms and human rights organisations were key actorsin the struggle against the dictatorship and the country’s democratisation. Events and initiativesin which both actors participated are considered, as well as the visions each group –orsome of their members– built regarding the other group’s activism.

Background: It is difficult to imagine contemporary society without their impact on many aspects of daily life. The feminist movement is also influenced by ICTs, evolving and adapting to new technologies, and the cyberfeminist movement has emerged. Objectives: The present work of theoretical revision intends to deepen in the cyberfeminist movement, to know its repercussion, the means used to achieve its goals and the inconveniences that the use of new technologies in the fight for gender equality implies, among which cyberviolence stands out. Finally, the impact and current importance of the movement in Spain is studied. Results: The results obtained reveal that new technologies are an important tool for the struggle of the cyberfeminist movement through the Internet, calling meetings, sharing information or similar. On the other hand, the Internet is a source of inequalities since, through it, it is easier to carry out cyberviolence. Conclusions: Despite the informative power of new technologies in the dissemination of the feminist movement, changes should continue to be promoted at the institutional and socio-community level in matters of gender equality.

In the present paper we analyze how divergence in language use across genders has received increasing scholarly attention since the late 1960s and –especially– early 1970s. While early research on the field is of-tentimes based on researcher introspection (Lakoff 1973), at this time we already find certain scholars that ap-proach the matter from a purely empirical perspective (Labov 1966). Since the very early precursors of gen-der and language studies, such preliminary analyses were pivotal in paving the path to more methodological-ly complex insights into the gender-language relationship (Nichols 1978, Trudgill 1988, Goodwin 1988). In more recent years, gender has started to be regarded as a complex dynamic social construction, which has prompted the use of more refined methodologies based upon the idea that stylisticvariation occurring within every speaker’s vernacular is not random but rather systematic.
