Abstract Objective: in this study, the effect of modification with zinc oxide of the conventional support in hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts based on Anderson-Evans polyoxometalate of NiMo5W was evaluated. Methodology: the catalysts were synthesized by the co-precipitation method of Anderson-Evans polyoxometalate NiMo5W on Al2O3. The catalysts were characterized by XRF, SEM/EDS, CHONS, textural properties, FT-IR, Raman and potentiometric titration with n-butylamine. Results: SEM revealed particle aggregate sizes for NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3 between 0.7 μm and 4.1 μm, and for NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3-ZnO between 0.5 μm and 3.5 μm. The isotherms were type IV characteristic of mesoporous materials, their specific areas were γ-Al2O3 (207 m2/g), γ-Al2O3-ZnO (185 m2/g), NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3 (97 m2/g) and NiMo5W /γ-Al2O3-ZnO (121 m2/g). FTIR showed that the inclusion of ZnO in the support promotes a better adsorption of the polyoxometalate on the surface. Raman of the catalysts only showed modes characteristic of MoS2: A1g (378 cm-1) and E2g1 (404 cm-1). Potentiometric titration with n-butylamine indicated a higher density of acid sites for NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3 (20.6 μmol/m2) compared to NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3-ZnO (15.2 μmol/m2). The NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3-ZnO (95%/67%) catalyst presented higher indole and HDN conversion than NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3 (85%/55%). Conclusions: indole hydrodenitrogenation reaction followed the reaction mechanism reported in the literature. Indole hydrodenitrogenation reaction followed the reaction mechanism reported in the literature. Hence, the NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3-ZnO (95%/67%) catalyst presented higher indole and HDN conversion than NiMo5W/γ-Al2O3 (85%/55%).   Keywords: hydrodenitrogenation; indole; NiMo5W Anderson-Evans phase; Al2O3; Al2O3-ZnO

Objective: Propose a prediction model based on artificial intelligence to predict the trend of overage enrollment in the Colombian educational system. Methodology: The Colombian educational system has undergone a fundamental change of transformation. Consequently, the increase in enrollment also reflects changes in the composition of the population according to age, where the tentative age ranges are uncommon to access education. For example, a second grade student must be between 7 and 8 years old, if they are between 9 and older, they are an overage student. The overage scenario is linked to two aspects: 1), late entry into the educational system. 2) High repetition rates. In this sense, being over-aged becomes a favorable context difficulty for school exclusion. Results: The model was evaluated with the coefficient of determination (R2), root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) metrics. The results obtained show that the model can serve as a basis for decision-making to government entities for the implementation of policies oriented pedagogical strategies, didactic strategies, with a view to reducing overage. Conclusions: The proposed model could serve as a basis in the Ministry of Education for the implementation of administrative orientation policies for the educational attention of the population in overage, young, adult and older adults with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, within the framework of the inclusion and equity in both rural and urban education.

Objective: The objective of the study is to identify population clusters in the city of Cali, Colombia, whose population vulnerabilities depend on its sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics. The hypothesis of this work is that the growth of the cases of COVID-19 is greater for the most vulnerable populations. Methodology: For this work, it was integrated data of positive cases of COVID-19 for the communities of the city of Cali, Colombia and variables that represent the vulnerability of populations in sociodemographic and socioeconomic terms. Like this, an analysis of hierarchical clustering was developed for the period of March - June 2020. Results: The results show that there exist groups of populations more vulnerable than others in the city of Cali, due to its own dynamics of the population. In this form, the dynamic of the COVID-19 pandemy, impact differently each populational group based on its own characteristics. Furthermore, some of the obtained groups form geographical corridors, where the communes of the same group are located contiguously. Conclusions: The results were corroborated with curves of growth of the cases for each group obtained and these were consistent. These results allow to design different strategies of mitigation and prevention of COVID-19 by sectors, zones, or by groups of specific communes and no general strategies for the whole city. Additionally, the design of strategies based on data that can be actualized at the time and permit the actualization of strategies based on the dynamic of the pandemy.

Objective: Presenting an experience about implementation of DevOps practices in a legacy Mainframe system or SML. Methodology: We use quasi-experimental research, which is characterized for presenting as a control group manual or actual process of a company and as an experimental group an automation proposal about some points of such a process. The methodology for this research type allowed to observe behavior of both processes, record data, and perform quantitative analysis of the observed variables. Such variables are: delivery lead time, deployment frequency, time to restore service, availability, deliverable quality, and volume of changes. Results: Implementation of DevOps practices in a SML evidenced improvements in the IT capabilities of the Company. Also, this was achieved, greater speed in deployments, early detection of errors, traceability and control in development and testing environments. Conclusions: This work showed the possibility of implementing DevOps practices in an SML, such practices emerge as a new possibility in the maintainability in this kind of systems. DevOps is a promise, which should be addressed by analyzing the neuralgic processes, measuring capabilities, and generating culture in development teams.

Objective: TDesign a statistical model that determines the academic factors on the results of the Saber Pro Tests. Methodology: The study of multivariable relationship and learning techniques were used to establish a relationship mechanism between a set of academic and sociodemographic variables and their influence on the result of the Saber Pro test, through a design and selection of a multivariable statistical model that optimally determines the academic factors that affect the results of the Saber Pro tests. Results: It was observed that there are no significant differences between the models and the reality reflected in the validation sample, except for the PCME test that the Random Forest model does not test the validation hypothesis. It was identified that the multivariate linear regression model does not show significant differences in any of the tests, unlike the Random Forest model if it shows differences for certain values of α in ING and FPI, in addition to rejecting the hypothesis of equality for the PCME test. Conclusions: Any of the techniques used in the study can help to make a predictive model that is capable of allowing the institution to generate strategies to create policies aimed at improving student performance. However, the multivariate linear regression technique according to the hypothesis tests is the best positioned in this study.
