Resumen
In Mexico, alcohol consumption is currently a growing public health problem, particularly with respect to the adolescents. Alcohol consumption is part of a complex phenomenon with biological, psychological, and social effects. Alcoholism is a disease which affects a dangerous proportion of the adolescent population, irrespective of gender, economic status, or social condition. One of the main functions of nursing is to promote healthy behaviors and prevent the development of diseases and their complications among the population. This paper presents research focused on high school students whose alcohol consumption is a habit that causes problems in the short, medium and long term, in addition to social and economic costs. This purpose of this study was to explore this phenomenon to provide professional nurses with have the knowledge necessary to intervene, and in some cases modify, the personal andprofessional perspective of adolescents, in order for them to have a productive future even if they continue to consume alcohol. From the sample it was found that the most representative group is between 16 and 18 years old, at a rate of 85.1%. 65.7% are female and 34.3% male. 97% are single, 92.5% have no children, and 80.6% live in nuclear family. 88.1% consider themselves to be healthy, 92.5% considered themselves successful, 89.6% consider their families to be functional, 94% believe themselves to be living in a family with values and principles that promote good behavior, and 91% would like to have a family where they talk about the consequences of alcohol consumption. 95.5% would like to become a recognized professional, 92.5% visualize themselves as professionals respected by their colleagues for the opportunities brought by their professional career, 97% would like to have a job with good salary, and 95.5% would like to have sufficient financial resources generated by their employment as professionals that their children would have the opportunity to get a good education.

Resumen
In late 2008, a greenhouse trial was conducted with soybeans to determine the behavior ofchlorophyll a, b, a+b and carotenoid concentration , electrolyte leakage, and relative watercontent with respect to moisture and ultisol soil compaction, because these two factors are acommon limiting factor of agricultural soil in the state of Monagas. A randomized block designwith factorial arrangement (4x4) was used, and the interaction of four levels of compactionproduced by different number of blows per layer (0, 12, 24, 36) and four levels of moistureproduced by varying the irrigation frequency (daily, every two days, every three days and fourdays) was studied. Analysis of variance and regression analysis indicated that the most influentialfactor in the variables assessed was the frequency of irrigation.

Resumen
They were identified the main phenolic acids in wheat straw by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), according with those reported by scientific literature as the main allelopathic compounds from wheat straw. The concentrations of these phenolic acids quantified on methanolic extracts by HPLC were very low (among 0.17 and 3.06 %) in relationship to the concentration of total soluble phenolics quantified by colorimetry. In the same way, the recuperation percentages of phenolic acids by HPLC in relationship to the total concentration of soluble phenolics quantified by colorimetry in the methanolic extracts varied among 1.28 and 15.18 %. The results shown that it is possible that the identified and quantified phenolic acids by HPLC on wheat straw, could not be the most important phenolic compounds that act as allelopathic agents in some agricultural systems according to their concentrations.

Resumen
The aim of this work was to utilize fresh cactus as a source of dietary fiber and calciumin pound cake formulations. Five pound cake formulations using fresh cactus (Opuntiaamyclaea Tenore) were developed (four with sucralosa, one of them without cactus andone with sugar cane and cactus). Sensory evaluation was performed by 60 untrained judgesand based on a preference assay with a hedonic scale from 1 to 9. Protein (Nx6.25),lipids, ashes, carbohydrates, total dietary fiber, calcium and phosphorus were determinedaccording to the methods of the AOAC, (1990). The results showed protein contentsfrom 9.54 to 10.08, moisture from 35.75 to 40.00, lipids from 2.29 g/100 g y 2.44 g/100g fresh weight. The sensory evaluation indicated a good acceptation. The concentrationof dietary fiber ranged from 8.7% to 10.43% g/100 g, and the calcium concentration from0.27 to 0.37 g/100 g. Energy content ranged from 216.02kcal to 225.98kcal kJ/100 g,50 % less than that in commercial pound cakes. Owing to their high fiber and calciumcontents, low caloric value and lack of sugar, pound cakes prepared according to theseformulations might be a healthy option for diabetic and obese people.

Resumen
The effect of blanching and drying air temperature on nopal pieces was investigated. Their drying behavior in a fluidized bed was studied at four different temperatures (50 ºC, 60 ºC, 70 ºC and 80 ºC). Drying curves were constructed using dimensionless moisture ratio (MR) and time; and their behavior was modeled using Henderson-Pabis, Power, Peleg and Page models. The results indicated that drying took place mainly when the period of drying rate decreased. The moisture effective diffusivity (Def) values varied from 0.818x10-7 to 3.25x10-7 m2 s-1 depending on drying conditions. The activation energy (Ea) values were: 35.85 kJ/mol for the nopal without blanching and 28.21 kJ/mol for the blanching nopal respectively. Peleg and Page´s models were found the most suitable for describing the drying behavior of nopal.

Resumen
Applied research for the sustainable integral use of regional native plants, which was extracted fiber from six species of Agave (common name maguey), three narrow-leaved (A. lechuguilla, A. angustifolia and A. tequilana) and three wide-leaved (A. americana, A. salmiana and A. mapisaga) by using three methods: 1) cooking of pads), 2) fermentation with and without aguamiel (maguey sweet juice) and 3) immersion in water open sky. By considering the variables color, odor, softness, enguiche, easiness of defibration and time spent. In conclusion, most practical treatment was the boiling of the fleshy leaves, but not the most economical and environmentally friendly one. The results got up to this stage indicate that paper can be obtained from each of the six species and that it shows characteristic features which make it attractive to be applied in various craft uses. In particular, the species producing the most paper with the best quality, i.e., for writing and drawing, were A. salmiana and A. mapisaga.

Resumen
Virology is an important science because viral diseases affect direct or indirectly to human kind. There are several families of plant viruses infecting important crops. Among those, the family Geminiviridae has become an important problem since cause serious damages around the world. In Mexico, the presence of geminiviruses was reported in the late 70’s. Because their importance, the members of the Plant Virology Laboratory at Cinvestav Irapuato have been interested in generating useful information to propose strategies for geminivirus control. Here, we summarized 20 years of research in geminivirology in our laboratory. Another intention was to show how the advances in other research areas such as microbiology, physics, biochemistry, molecular biology and more recently bioinformatics could contribute to our knowledge and understanding of geminivirus.

Resumen
Field yield and bulb quality of garlic (Allium sativum L.) compounds were evaluated during the 2008-2009 fall-winter cycle at the San Luis de la Paz, Gto., Mexico. Taiwan compounds were evaluated with variable results, depending on the genotype. Best plant height, bulb yield, higher weight per bulb and smaller clove number per bulb were obtained with: Compuesto 4 (El pato, bodegas, Salamanca, Gto.), Compuesto 5 (Santa Teresa, tabla III, Salamanca, Gto.), and Compuesto 1 (Ajo sano, varias regiones del Edo. de Gto.). It is important to continue with the program of garlic genetic breeding to Guanajuato state, based on selection of new garlic lines derived from the best compounds and using techniques as the virus elimination for improving yield and quality.

Resumen
The paper approaches the use of mobile technologies within art, being the telephone in our special interest. These objects are studied, and the experiences created by them that in most cases do not take place in a specific site. They can occur in a virtual and temporary space. These practices require the active participation of the beholder who becomes a co-author of the piece. The works of art that are analyzed have all these characteristics and show the complexity between the mobile technology and the user.
