The article discusses the main deviation strategies of the autobiographical show Revele!, staged in Salvador in 2018 and 2019. The theoretical perspective of the work is based on the notions of crisis of drama and deviation, formulated respectively by Peter Szondi and by Jean- Pierre Sarrazac, in conjunction with expanded notions of dramaturgy such as those proposed by theorists José Sanchez and Joseph Danan. The study also dialogues with the work of other artists and theorists such as Fernando Kinas, Patrice Pavis and Erika Fischer-Lichte. The text presents an analysis of the main aspects of the montage that differ from traditional poetics, or from the majority aesthetic conceptions, and which are recurrent in contemporary theater, particularly in the scenic forms known as conference-play, or conference-spectacle. The deviations identified in the study indicate as the main strategies of these forms the direct enunciation to the audience, the monodramatic discourse and the attempts to emerge the real on the scene.

If in the academic path of the performing arts, the study and understanding of the specificities of black bodies, aesthetics and poetics were constituted in the course of the last century as power and singularity, the first two decades of this century demonstrated the urgency of such study as an urgent reality, from multiple perspectives on the scenic approaches of dance, theater, circus, production design and ways of life in the black diaspora. Following this movement, the present dossier brings together works by artist-researchers who add heterogeneous discourses aligned in an approach that aims to strengthen and visibility of the particularities that constitute the black scene(s) and their transforming role in the contemporary performance.

This article aims to share reflections on the concept of animated forms from the puppet theater called bunraku in contrast to the object, an appropriate term of the surrealist movement and assimilated by the writer Tatsuhiko Shibusawa and developments in the Butoh dance of Tatsumi Hijikata. Here, the idea of animacy is discussed, starting from the tangent principle to biologically active beings, in particular, puppets and immanent manifestations of nature such as diseases and youkais, in order to broaden the perception of bodies and movement.

Abstract: This article intends to discuss the Mamulengo game called the Female Congress of the Mamulengando Alegria group formed by Neide, Cida and Larissa Lopes. Our proposal is to compose a text in dialogue with Cida, using their speeches as a reference and articulate with the theoretical framework of bell hooks (2019), Marcela Lagarde (2011), Margareth Rago (2013), Patrícia Dutra (1998) and the Law 13.104.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Central American children enter the United States in search of a future impossible in their home countries. Poverty, insecurity, and the permanent threat of the well-known “maras” in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, force children to travel thousands of kilometers in search of an American dream that no one promised them. In addition to the failure of the countries of Central America’s northern triangle, there is the indifference of Mexico, a transit territory between origin and destination, which has also failed to protect the best interests of children. Finally, mention must be made of the United States, whose migration policy deals with children once they threaten to cross its border, while ignoring the reasons why these same children left their countries of origin in the first place. This work engages in a dialogue between journalistic, sociological, and testimonial discourses to offer a panoramic and multidisciplinary view of a complex and multifaceted problem.

Most of the elements that compose the Andean world, at least but basically, consider the complementarity and reciprocity principles as constituents of the mode of non-separable relations with nature, as a whole. The same happens between nature and human beings, and between them and other beings and forces, which are invisible. A communion like that is continually sustained by means of rituality in a permanent reconstitution of certain unity of being, thinking and feeling. Some recent works in Andean Literature recover and reflect this way of existence between humans and non-humans, so, this article focuses on one of them. Cuando Sara Chura despierte (When Sara Chura awakens) from the Bolivian Juan Pablo Piñeiro. In his work, this writer who was born at La Paz, ventures into a world inhabited by “other” entities and subjectivities, which emerge from rituals, sacrifices, spells, and so on. All of them imbricated in the Andean culture, the same that has suffered the forced concealment by the light of a society that has marginalized it.
