Considering the emerging of a new movement that advocates for self-representation in the arts, this article brings some reflections on the ethical, aesthetic, political and social implications that permeate the representation of minority social groups in contemporary theater. Starting from the construction of an understanding of the concept of representativeness within the Brazilian performing arts field and an analysis of some ways it can operate in and out of theater, the article also presents proposals for artists who aim to create under a representative, plural and emancipatory perspective.

The article relate an analysis of Brechtian gestures like aesthetic value of the Capitu microseries (2008) by Luiz Fernando Carvalho. The aim is to approximate with the appropriate congruences, the gesture dimension of Brecht's epic theater to the audiovisual point of view of adaptation, whose reading path includes the protection of theoretical contributions from Theater Theory, of cinematographic narratology and performance studies, in the analysis of scenes that best align with the critical-interpretative perspective adopted. We begin by broadening the notion of Brechtian gesture, focusing on scenic composition, metafictionality and mise-en-scène. So, gestural aesthetics is read as one of the multiple components of the wide range of expressive signs of the polyvalent language of the microseries, that assimilates different devices and combinations to expand the horizons of meaning.

The article presents reflections triggered by the show Weapon is a part of my body, a co-production between Brazil, Israel and the United Kingdom, with the performance of the Brazilian Pedro Granato and the Israeli Ruthie Osterman, taking as a guiding principle the set of potentialities that the work offers to think about what we call, in this essay, as aesthetic (dis)education and the intersections with the debates about body and politics in the contemporary scene. The theoretical-methodological framework has its framework varnished by the Dialogical Analysis of Discourse, of which we chose as the base text the essay The problem of content, material and form in literary creation, written by Bakhtin in 1934, in which the author proposes a discussion about general aesthetics.

One of the biggest challenges encountered in teaching the performing arts is to put the student in evidence when sharing his scenic creation with colleagues, especially when the focus is usually the body. When reflecting on this aspect, the present text dealt with the possibility of the body work with students in Elementary School with the starting point in the Theater of Animation – theoretical reflection based on my Doctorate in Arts research Scenic, in progress, at the University of Brasília. This article will address the following aspects: the bodily course within the Animation Theater aimed at Elementary Schools; the body in the shade; the embodiment of the puppet with the hands; and, the body in the scene in direct animation. As methodological procedures analysis of articles, dissertations and theses were used. Two women artists from different traditions - the indigenous artist-performer and the non-indigenous artist-performer - met for the first time when performing an artistic performance together and discovered affinities that led them to tread a path where life and art intertwine, establishing a dialogue between the different knowledges of each one, seeking new possibilities of creation for their poetic practices, reinventing themselves with each new challenge that presents itself, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through a writing-in-route, the article presents some of the author's experiences during “Amazônia centro do mundo”, an event that, over three days, brought together indigenous leaders, researchers and activists in Altamira (PA), city where the world’s second largest hydroelectric power plant was build. The text is stitched together with Altamira 2042, a piece by Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha, aiming to argue that when the institutions prove incapable of repairing the irreparable, art can assume the responsibility of instituting other imaginations in those who share the artistic work.

Deploying a writing that gives an account of a knowing and of an analysis about the event and its consequences on the ontological plane and therefore on the artistic level, makes it necessary to work on some concepts, in order to appropriate actions that we go through in our research proposal. It is therefore a question of reading writings that give us visibility on the limits and creative possibilities of the fabulation. Initially we approached the concept of event, this lens brings us closer to the power of fabulation and the way it generates acts of resistance against the cultural project of modernity that allow us to summon a participatory artistic act from the image: Call a people

The text is intended to be a manifest, in epistolary form, about confluences between research, art and life, pondering about the academy and the academic relations established between advisor and advisee, aiming to shed light on how one investigate and how one can instigate to investigate, observing the processes experienced towards the production as a doula accompanies a gestation, with such accuracy and generosity that can surpass norms and traditional ways to face a research and their outcomes.
