Introduction: Several competencies, skills and elements are required to learn a second foreign language. One of the most important aspects of acquiring a foreign language is vocabulary. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine how the incorporation of YouTube videos in reading exercises affected the development of comprehension and identification of vocabulary in students of the Environmental Engineering career at a public university in Ecuador. The activities were carried out through Microsoft Teams and the Moodle virtual classroom. Methodology: se used a Pre-test and a Post-test where the vocabulary related to the environment was evaluated to a group of 33 students, of which 18 were women and 15 were men, with an average age of 21 to 22 years. The students worked in groups, so they were divided into channels using Microsoft Teams. A survey was also used to determine the degree of student satisfaction with using YouTube videos in vocabulary learning. Results: The results of the Post-Test of the vocabulary test showed that the students learned many words that they did not know during the three weeks of the application of this study method. The survey showed that students felt comfortable, and motivated to learn vocabulary through YouTube videos thus facilitating the learning of English as a second language. Conclusions: the study showed that the students improved their level of pronunciation and understanding since the videos provided a correct pronunciation.

Resumen
Introduction. Today there are many countries that are looking for alternatives to produce energy from natural sources and resources that, in addition to representing an economy, contribute to the reduction of environmental pollution, a scourge that is causing great damage to the planet and that has called the attention of scientists, governments and other world organizations that fight for the conservation of the environment. One of the energies that is gaining a great boom is photovoltaic energy, which is obtained through solar energy and through which electrical energy can be obtained. Objective. Describe the most important aspects of this type of energy, and the feasibility of its application as a source of energy at the San Gregorio Portoviejo University. Methodology. Descriptive, bibliographical, and qualitative. Results. According to the results obtained, the cash flow obtained after the initial investment is positive, which indicates that the project would be feasible, since the costs do not exceed the savings that will be obtained. Conclusion. Today photovoltaic energy represents an alternative to produce low-cost energy that does not produce environmental pollution, for which its use has increased in several countries. Although installation costs are high, it is an investment that will generate savings in the future and reduce costs in terms of energy consumed.

Resumen
The tourism sector is included within the strategic areas within the Economic-Social Strategy to boost the economy in the face of the global crisis caused by COVID 19, proposing within the measures to be applied: "Transition to new products innovators and accelerate cluster with other sectors (health, culture, sport, ecology)”, as well as “New certified quality parameters based on greater safety and sustainability”, for which new ways of managing tourism are necessary, a change in the ways of doing in the sector. All of the above requires new knowledge and skills based on the professional and occupational diversity of the tourism manager, in relation to their functions and performance. To carry out this research, we started from the theoretical referential analysis of the development of tourism and its recovery after COVID 19, to propose a strategy for the comprehensive and contextualized training of the tourism manager that allows the improvement of their performance in the different action scenarios. The proposal starts from exposing the needs for new knowledge and skills that tourism managers will require for the development of the sector in the new conditions of responsible and healthy tourism.
