Objective: The purpose of this article is to unveil the cases of entrepreneurship within a group of women entrepreneurs and the aspects that lead to their economic empowerment. Method: The research responds to a mixed approach, in which a characterization sheet was used to collect information on the sociodemographic conditions and characteristics of the enterprises. In addition, semi-structured interviews were applied to learn about the most relevant aspects that guided their entrepreneurial action. Results and discussion: The most notable aspect was the sustainability of the businesses for periods of more than five years, resulting from individual initiatives carried out as an alternative source of income, and self-determination that allowed them to assume their role as a mother and perform their work at the same time. However, the characteristics of entrepreneurship due to the necessity and propensity to self-employment respond to the sociocultural conditions of the participants and their environment, showing that the leadership exercised and the sense of relevance to the context are what constitute them to provide solutions to the social problems of their territories. Conclusions: The entrepreneurship cases analyzed in this study enable three relevant factors to be noted–they are supported by the individual characteristics and the knowledge acquired by women throughout the years, the sustainability of the business, and the entrepreneurs’ sense of belonging.

Objective: this paper calls into question organizations that boast in calling themselves humanists. And to do so, it analyzes the effects of the managers actions on workers, today called collaborators. Method: To make this analysis, the research is based on the Weberian notions of value rationality and instrumental rationality and examines the foundations and purposes of the decisions that managers make. An interpretive methodology was used. The field work was based on interviews with employees, managers and directors of human management of different organizations in Medellín. Results: The organizations were classified as functionalist, paternalistic, or humanistic according to satisfaction, personal development, social cohesion, and skills that are consolidated in the workplace. Discussion: a level of empowerment is carried out in the discourse of the employees of some of the companies studied, due to the degree of integration, cohesion and stability of the employees; This empowerment is closely connected with the rational evaluative and functionalist-evaluative style (Scalzo & García, 2018) . Conclusion: The number of benefits or well-being programs does not matter, but rather the possibility that the subject has of realization in the work exercise, what which implies that humanistic companies are not, necessarily, those that offer the most programs and benefits, nor are those that appear in the lists of the best places to best places to work.

Objective: This paper sought to identify and describe how the level of individuals’ personal happiness influences their happiness as business administration undergraduates, in order to subsequently analyze the impact that this has on their future management style. Method: An empirical and correlational case study was carried out with 76 students enrolled for the 2019-2020 period at the University of Cadiz (Universidad de Cádiz) (Spain), to whom a structured questionnaire was given online. Results and Discussions: This study found that most respondents have a higher level of personal happiness as students; they consider that their personal happiness influences their academic performance, and they believe that upon completion of their degree program they will be able to get a job in the business world. However, this study found that students who pursue the degree due to a personal calling are happier than those who choose this field of study as a second option. Conclusions: It is inferred that the greater the personal happiness, the greater the happiness as a management student, which confirms to the directors of the corresponding universities how important it is to contribute more decisively to the overall well-being of their students. This could favor their current academic performance, and consequently their future managerial style.

The purpose was to study to establish the types of capabilities known as dynamics capabilities (CD) and to analyze the links which connect them conceptually. For this, a systematic literature review was developed, and a deep concept analysis of concepts was carried out to determine the types of dynamic capacities and their relationship. Seven types of dynamic capabilities of importance to organizations were unified and defined: 1) sensing capacity (CDe); 2) Integration and coordination capacity (CIC); 3) Reconfiguration capacity (CR); 4) Learning capacity (CAp); 5) Innovation capacity (CI); 6) Alliance capacity (CA), and 7) management and leadership capacity (CGL). The conceptual relationships between these constructs were raised, which made it possible to show that these capabilities complement and enhance into each other. The results are a fundamental input to the enterprise sector, since facilitating the identification and implementation of the dynamic capabilities by organizations and provide a basis for their scientific studies.

Objective: The purpose of this research was to determine the elements of strategic thinking and industrial restructuring of the ceramic cluster, as well as to establish the correlation between them. Method: This research used a quantitative methodology of hypothetic-deductive method, which established the relationship between strategic thinking and productive restructuring. The information was obtained by interviewing executives from 49 organizations in the ceramic industry. Results: The main findings indicate that all the elements of strategic thinking were found in the organizations under study, while only two were present in industrial restructuring. In addition, this research found that there is a positive bidirectional relationship between strategic thinking and industrial restructuring. Discussion: Although the study showed that all the elements of strategic thinking and industrial restructuring were present, one of the elements of strategic thinking had no correlation with the elements of industrial restructuring. Conclusions: The resulting model showed that four out of five elements of strategic thinking have a direct and bidirectional correlation with the three elements of productive restructuring, which means that taking strategic measures based on any of these four elements will affect the elements of industrial restructuring, and vice versa.

Social entrepreneurship is a current topic that many researchers from the scientific and academic community have shown interest in studying, as it has become an excellent option for innovation and transformation for modern companies. Moreover, social entrepreneurship is seen as a mechanism for creating value as well as a solution to the multiple social, environmental, and cultural challenges faced by society. Thus, this article conducts a network analysis to identify the research trends found in the literature on social entrepreneurship. For this purpose, Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus were consulted, and the information gathered was processed using scientific mapping tools such as R and Gephi. Four perspectives were identified that guide this study and that revolve around the organizational process, theoretical evolution, the fundamentals of social entrepreneurship, and the social calling of entrepreneurs and companies to address key environmental issues. Based on the findings, an agenda is proposed for future research that will contribute to fill the existing knowledge gaps.

Brachycephalic dogs are usually affected by primary and secondary anatomical changes in the airways that contribute to the brachycephalic syndrome. Chronically, these changes contribute to an increase in pulmonary arterial pressure and right cardiac overload (cor pulmonale). The right cardiac function in 17 dogs with brachycephalic syndrome was assessed using echocardiography before, and at 30 and 60 days after rhinoplasty. The maximum pulmonary systolic flow velocity, the pressure gradient between the AP and RV (GrFP), the right ventricular systolic function (tricuspid ring systolic excursion (TAPSE), the variation of the right ventricular area (FAC), the velocity of the systolic displacement of the right ventricular myocardium (S’) by tissue Doppler) and right ventricular diastolic function (transtricuspid flow and the relationship between the E and A waves, evaluation of the E’ and A’ waves using tissue Doppler of the free wall of the right ventricle) were evaluated. The right ventricular fractional area, velocity, and pressure gradient of pulmonary arterial flow showed the best sensitivity in these analyses. The present study reinforces the concept that obstructions in the anterior airways contribute to pulmonary hypoxia. However, the correction of these obstructions proved to be beneficial in the reduction of right heart overload.
