This paper addresses a theoretical reflection on the political dimension of the networks. In so doing, tried to offer one analysis of this format organization, privileging the political dimension of the relationships inter-organizational starting from some contributions formulated by sociological Pierre Bourdieu. The theoretical evidences revealed that this analytic cutting can offer alternative readings to the visions, whose reflections don´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´t politicize the concept of networks, placing in the epicenter of the arguments the logic of the cooperation and of the trust as driving forces and enough conditions for the explanation and operation of the relationships among the organizations, it is also believed that, when considering the networks as a social field, this paper begins a work that enlarges the governance notion, being taken in consideration not only the structural and objective aspects, but also exalting the subjective dimension that permeates the relationships among the agents.

The article explores the thematic of the individual employability in the current context of organizational flexibility, aiming to extend the current quarrel on the subject, centered in the theory of the human capital. Such extent becomes necessary in function of the multicausality of the phenomenon in question. This article suggests an explaning model of the individual employability, based upon a deep bibliographical revision, with the intention of searching a better agreement on what it determines the access to the job. The model is conceived on the basis of the theories of human, cultural and social capitals. Suggestions for the operacionalization of the variables are presented, making the model applicable. The proposal of the model does not put an end to the studies on the subject. This article is about an effort to better know the general lines of the phenomenon. The theoretical quarrel allowed to see that the job market must be studied as something inserted in a social context, in which non-meritocratics variables are valued. Such conclusion can redirect the public policies directed to the job market, as well as the policies of human resources adopted by the organizations.

This essay aims a closer communication between dissatisfied researchers and organizationals actors not so effectively identified with critical readings and more interested in paying homage to certain products of the cultural industry. The main goal of the text is to disclose the closing points between reality shows and productive organizations. In this sense it invites other equally unsatisfied academics with the recurrent difficulty to establish a critical dialogue between theoreticians and practitioners. Initially the text discusses mass culture, reality shows and companies as products and producers of a social representation focused on the show and the hiperreality. It illustrates its arguments presenting three aspects of the problem: selection of participants, power saggy games and behavior manipulation. In such context, the position of academics as mere spectators does not seem to accord with the challenges faced by the players/participants/actors of the programs and the organizations.

This paper proposes a methodology to study the linkage between organizational performance drivers like internal resouces and competences, and organizational performance through its multiple perspectives like internal performance measures and its overall ability to meet financial and customer targets. Firstly the methodology suggests the exam of the main variables related to firm performance and the design of casual maps. Next data are collected according to that design and simplified using factorial analysis. Then, statistical techniques like regression analysis and structural equation modelling are employed to investigate relationship among variables to confirm or not the assumed linkages. As an example, the methodology is employed in a firm with a hundred business units, all monitored with similar performance indicator measurement. In the example, some drivers like human competency showed no association with organizational performance, whereas drivers like tangibles resource density and employee satisfaction seemed to affected internal process productivity, customer satisfaction and financial targets.

The objective of this study is to reflect upon the possibility of developing qualitative research on subjective social events such as language, culture and image. We understand that these three social activities are cleary revealed as examples of a globalization process that has been in progress since the end of the last century. To illustrate this idea, we present a research developed about image negotiation in English as a foreign language classrooms based on the theoretical concepts of Applied Linguistics, Interactional Sociolinguistics and Conversational Analysis.

Through the analysis of a model Integrated Center of Citizenship, established in Vitória, and of the organizations that preceded, we try, in this article: to identify the services which must be present in an urban organization of this nature, having in mind the governamental instruments that originated its conception: to categorize the services identified according to some of the principal classifications present in specific literature (Chase, 1978; Lovelock, 1983; Schemenner, 1986); to discuss the units of service as part of a process of production induced by the client, in the light of the basic strutures proposed by Wild (1977); to direct the focus of the approach to the units that are concerned with the pacific solutions of conflicts, confronting its technical and social subsystems with the pressupositions of the Sociotechnical School (Biazzi Jr, 1994); to compare the actuations of these units with the job design for semi-autonomous (Cherns, 1994) and, finally, to comment on the importance of the structuring of these units as self-sufficient managed groups, showing that this approach contributes, to a great extent, to the operational integration and management of these units.

The implementation of public programs is a complex task, often involving interorganizational relations at several levels of government and among a variety of public and private institutions. The challenge is to establish a format for these relationships that permits achievement of intended results. This paper examines the interorganizational arrangements established for the 1998 Program for Literacy and Training of Young People and Adults coordinated by the Superintendency for Developoment of the Northeast of Brazil (SUDENE). This study, employing qualitative methods for the collection and analysis of data, found that the configuration of the interorganizational relations for the implementation of that Program took the form of an hierarchical, centralized, organizational set with little or no interaction among most of the elements. This format was seen to be inadequate for achievement of the objectives of the Program. Recommendations are made with respect to configuration of interorganizational networks for public programimplementation appropriate to the achievement of intended results.
