Resumen
The present document constitutes a first approximation for the formulation in theoric, conceptual and operational terms, of a form of teaching destined to give answer to the great problem that today represents the coexistence in the school. Tentatively it incorporates the expression Pedagogy of Coexistence, to give account of this effort.
Mainly, it aims to put the bases for future socioeducative interventions oriented to transform the school into a critical and harmonious community, able to assume the breakdowns and communication problems, as both resources and opportunities, with the objective to construct a coexistence illuminated from the diversity and
mutual comprehension. It is structured in three sections: Pretext and Context of Coexistence in the School, Coexistence as a Complex Social Construction, and Towards a Pedagogy of Coexistence.

Resumen
In recent years the interest in the subject of adult attachment has increased, in the theoretical as well as in the empirical perspective. Much of this interest has been the assessment of the construct of attachment in this phase of development. This endeavor has generated two traditions or lines of research: one is the tradition of the models of state of mind and the other is the behavioral approach of attachment. Both of these approaches have developed their own systems of classification in categories or dimensions and their own research assessment tools. Through an exhaustive revision of the rise and development of these traditions, the scope of this paper is to describe the main characteristics of these approaches, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as its field of action and application. The authors conclude about the lack of integration of the construct of attachment and the limitations of its measurement and application.

Resumen
The main goal of the present work is the understanding of the memory and phonological awareness skills of prereading children to determine the early factors that relate to reading acquisition. Another goal is to analyze whether phonological awareness skills, syllabic segmentation in particular, are affected by the specific characteristics of the Spanish language system. A sample of 95 kindergarten children was used. The children's knowledge of the letters and some phonological skills were measured. The results show that the highest scores were obtained in the syllabic segmentation task. Moreover, all the phonological tests correlate with the prereading knowledge of letters. We also find that the phonological characteristics of the language (i.e., word and syllabe types) also affect segmentation skills. The power of the different tests to discriminate among the children and its connection with letters' knowledge are considered in the discussion. The possibility that the intrasyllabic units in Spanish and in English are different is pointed out.

Resumen
The article presents the findings of a study made in Pasto, Colombia, aiming to describe and understand risks-selfcare dynamics in teams of social operators who work with people displaced by political violence. An instrument that measures burnout was applied to 30 professionals who work with displaced population and 30 professionals who work with other vulnerable populations. Eight individual interviews and a focal group were conducted. The data was triangulated and it was concluded that the differences between burnout scores obtained by operators who work with population in displacement and those that work with other populations are not significant. A model of progressive co-construction of protective resources in teams of social operators who work with displaced people in Pasto is proposed.

Resumen
The preliminary results of an intervention with four first-grade classes from municipal schools of Santiago are presented. The Good Behavior Game (GBG) was implemented in first and second grade to a study group, and it was compared to a control group that had a similar psychosocial risk index (JUNAEB, 2000). A description of the intervention and a comparison of the evaluation of both groups at the end of first and second grade are reported.

Resumen
The purpose of this paper is to enlarge our understanding of how children are valued by men and women in impoverished populations in Caracas. The objective of this study is to examine the meaning that children have for the members of different family structures. The field experience included interviews with eight families. The data was analyzed using the constant comparison method. Results show contrasting conceptions of children in terms of particular moments in people's lifetimes, and their everyday experiences. The meaning of a child is seen as an ideal related to people's experiences with their maternity and paternity. This meaning is also associated with ideological, cultural and religious patterns.

Resumen
This research addresses preschoolers' intuitive understanding of rectilinear movement and some variables which affect it, and your changes in isomorphic situations. The sample is composed of 30 boys and girls between the ages of 5.0 and 5.5 years, selected randomly from one private preschool educational institution in Cali (Colombia). The experimental material consists of four isomorphic situations based on a task by Chen and Klahr (1999). The average number of actions increased significantly between sessions, strategies undertaken by the children are organized in more complex series and with greater effectiveness. Intuitive conceptions of rectilinear movement changed between sessions.

Resumen
From an epidemiological perspective the relationship between life events and psychological disorders in children is not so clear. The direct etiological role given to life events might be diminish when considering the level of psychological disorders previous to the events. The association among life events and changes in the level of behavioral and emotional problems in a general sample of 6-11 years old children (N = 69) was investigated. Life events predicted the actual level of behavioral problems. However, when including the initial level of problems the life events effect lessened. The initial level of behavioral problems was the better predictor of the actual level. The findings give support to the hypothesis under study.

Resumen
In the frame of a larger research on predictors of success in trainig of Argentinian military cadets, two studies are introduced. The first one analyzes six cohorts of graduates from a military educative institution (1997-2003), taking into account the variability in the achievement exhibited during their higher education, relating it to
demographics variables (parental education and occupation and the status of being a militarys relative). Results show academic averages are descending in a period of six years. Military achievement shows less variability, while both academic and military achievement seem to be associated to parental education. The second study analyzes
the freshmen cohort 2003, including biographic data, values, personality factors and motivation as predictors. Five of the considered categories discriminated between both groups of cadets with high and low achievement: they are cognitive factors related to previous achievement, vocational guidance and certain leadership features.
In the other hand, cadets who obtained lowest averages in their first year, exhibited more extrinsic motivation, less intrinsic motivation, and power was their hegemonic value.

Resumen
The present article describes the occupational situation of the psychologists that received their undergraduate degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). The data was collected using surveys completed by 237 psychologists graduated between 1983 and 1999. The results indicate that the specialisation area chosen during the last year of studies by the students is maintained during the later occupational life. The most useful contents of the undergraduate study for professional work, as well as the modules reported to be most useful. The importance of developing interpersonal abilities during undergraduate study for professional practice is also described
