The aim of this study was to analyse how different dimensions of social support predict psychologicaldistress, understood as anxiety and depression, in patients with gastrointestinal cancer. A total of 353adult patients participated, most of whom were women (70.8%), diagnosed in the outpatient clinic of theabdominal surgery department. An explanatory, non-experimental, cross-sectional design was used. Theinstruments used were the Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (MOS) and the Hospital Anxiety andDepression Scale (HADS).The internal structure of the scales was previously evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis, andreliability was verified with alpha and omega coefficients. Subsequently, a structural equation model(SEM) was used in R Studio 4.4.3 software, which showed a good fit (χ²/gl = 2.30; CFI = .995; RMSEA = .057). The results indicated that emotional support (β = −.23), positive interaction (β = −.32) and affective support (β = −.20) were associated with a decrease in psychological distress, while tangible support (β = .34) was associated with an increase in psychological distress. In conclusion, the impact of social support varies depending on its type, as while some forms such as emotional support or positive interaction act as protective factors, others such as tangible support could generate adverse effects by promoting dependence or stress. Therefore, it is suggested that psycho-oncological interventions prioritise the strengthening ofemotional bonds and carefully monitor the way in which practical support is provided.

The breakup of a romantic relationship can have a significant impact on the individual, but little has been discussed about its effect on hypoactive sexual desire, which is associated with a decrease in sexual desire, making relationships difficult due to low motivation for sexual activity (Cabello-Santamaría & Palacios, 2012). The decline in sexual interest is more frequently observed in women, and breakups are often experienced as traumaticevents (Hartman, 2017). Thus, the present study aims to analyze the relationship between the reasons for romantic breakups and hypoactive sexual desire in women. This is a mixed-method study involving 41 women aged 20 to 35 who had been in a romantic relationship lasting between 1 and 12 months. The Inhibited Sexual Desire Test byMasters et al. (1994) and the Inhibited Sexual Desire Assessment (DSI) by J.Mª. Farré and Mª.G. Lasheras (2002) were used. According to the results, the most common reasons for breakups that lead to experiencing hypoactive sexual desire and inhibited sexual desire were infidelity, boredom, arguments, distance, violence, disagreements, and lack of communication factors that vary according to individual, social, and cultural contexts.

The objective of this research is to establish the correlation between learning styles and critical thinking in accounting students from a public university in Cañete. The study group consisted of accounting students of both sexes from the public university of Cañete, totaling 120. Due to the large population, a census sampling was applied using the entire population as a sample. The study adopted a quantitative methodology in accordance with a basic level of non-experimental design. Likewise, it presented a descriptive-descriptive correlation level. The Sotelo Learning Styles Questionnaire (2022) and the Mesías Critical Thinking Questionnaire (2022) were the assessment instruments used. The findings indicate that there is a moderate negative correlation (-0.462) between the active style and critical thinking; However, the Reflective Style dimension shows a high positive correlation (0.763) with critical thinking, as does the Theoretical Style dimension, which shows a high positive correlation (0.763), all of which are relevant except for the correlation between the Pragmatic Style and Critical thinking, which shows a non-significant correlation. Thus, it can be deduced that there is a significant positive correlation (0.872) between learning styles and critical thinking.

Numerous studies have shown that the incorporation of an investigative approach in the teaching of architecture workshop produces a significant impact on the integral development of students. In this context, a case study was carried out with the objective of exploring students' perception regarding the implementation of architectural research in the course of Territorial Architectural Design IV, Fourth semester of academic period 2023-01 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Ibarra.   The study methodology included a comprehensive literature review of architectural academic research processes and background. The participant observation method was also applied, which allowed the researcher to record data and impressions in a naturalistic way, without the students being aware of their observation. In addition, unstructured interviews were conducted with the coordinator of the subject, with the purpose of discussing and analyzing the shortcomings and results obtained in the case study.   The findings of the study reveal a remarkable development of soft skills, such as teamwork and assertive communication, as well as hard skills, which include handling tools for data collection, critical thinking, and the ability to analyse and interpret information. These results suggest that the application of research in the architecture workshop has provided students with tools and skills which have enabled them to participate actively in their learning process. However, a difficulty was identified in the ability of students to translate the information collected into an appropriate architectural language.

Digital resources boost the quality of education, they have the ability to approximate, since remote realities can be learned in the classroom. The objectives were; i) diagnose the social and techno-educational conditions of third-year high school students, ii) evaluate the level of knowledge about invasive species and their problems and iii) 3. assess the degree of acceptance of digital resources on invasive species. The participants were third-year high school students who live in the Galapagos Islands. Four digital resources were created with educational content on invasive species, the platforms were used: Wordwall (Felis catus), Genially (Crotophaga ani), Quizzizz (Philornis downsi), Mobbyt (Rubus niveus), 40 surveys with response options were applied. dichotomous and polytomous ordinal, for validation the principles of the Delphi technique were followed; The Kobotoolbox platform and SPSS Statistics were used for data processing. It was evident that there are 51.42% women, and 48.59% were born on the islands. Furthermore, 85.75% and 79.31% do not have internet or a computer at home, respectively. Students (68.03%) consider that the educational unit's internet is not of good quality and is not accessible to everyone. There is no reading habit, but there have been talks about invasive species. 41.38% of students who live in urban areas have received some type of scholarship to learn about invasive species. Students in rural areas do not know the economic impacts of invasive species and they did not know what digital resources are and the platforms with the best acceptance for teaching were Quizzizz and Mobbyt, therefore, digital resources do facilitate assimilation and strengthen teaching processes about invasive species

A brand transcends its commercial function and becomes a cultural symbol, reflecting the values, traditions, and identity of the community. In this sense, this article is part of the research project “Consumer-brand relations in Zone I of Ecuador” by the Carchi State Polytechnic University. Its objective is to analyze the cultural symbolism of brands in the textile sector and their relationship with the brand-self connection in the province of Imbabura, taking the brand “Andino Artesanías” as its object of study. The methodological approach applied was quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, and correlational. The research technique was a structured survey using a Likert scale, which was applied to 384 consumers of the brand. The results show a positive correlation of R=0.579, demonstrating that consumers identify with a brand when it connects with symbols representative of a locality, i.e., the brand goes beyond offering a simple product and becomes a cultural symbol that reinforces consumers' sense of belonging. It is concluded that, according to consumer perception, the textile brand “Andino Artesanías” moderately incorporates cultural symbols that strengthen ties with the values and traditions of the province of Imbabura, thereby promoting consumer loyalty.

In this work, a geostatistical model of air pollution in the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ) is designed, where Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels in the atmosphere are measured by percentages in milligrams per cubic meter [mg / m3] at 6 monitoring stations: Belisario, El Camal, Centro, Cotocollao, Carapungo and Guamaní. The data taken from 2005 to 2018 have been obtained by the Metropolitan Atmospheric Monitoring Network. Two variables corresponding to the georeferenced coordinates necessary to generate the heat maps using ArcGis Pro are inserted in the database. It begins with the entry of the data in Rstudio to perform an exploratory analysis applying an ANOVA statistical methodology in which maximum and minimum CO values are identified as well as the average during said period, with which a comparison of the levels of air pollution by the presence of Carbon Monoxide is made. In addition, a relationship between the values of two months is determined using the ArcGIS software to generate the geographic map of each station in each year in November and December. With the averages obtained and through heat maps, a significant decrease in pollution levels in the DMQ is determined from 2008 with a value of 1,083 mg/m3 to 2018 with a value of 0.7373 mg/m3.
