The murder of most of his family, the confinement (during childhood and adolescence) to a gilded prison and the spectacle of struggles within Church have turned Julian into a rebellious and irresponsible idealist who has tried, after Constance’s death, to restore paganism in the Empire and thus invert the course of history. The resistance he met, the mistakes he made during nineteen months of government, and a hasty campaign against the Persian in which he was killed show the inanity of his project and the victory of Galileo he tenaciously persecuted.

Resumen
The fable of Narcissus is an example of the literary works by the Portuguese poet Gregorio Silvestre and we have tried to show that, in some aspects, the poem is related to the poetic ideas of the Renaissance. However, in other cases, it meticulously respects the linguistic ideas of the poets of the fifteenth century. It is an elegant and good example of the growing importance of mythology among writers.

Resumen
The obscure causes of the Ovidian exile have given rise to endless explanations from scholars studying Antiquity. A theory that has managed to gain little support and which, as a rule, is dealt with contemptuously is the one according to which the exile was forged by the Sulmonensis. In this article the author tries to add up some reasons supporting this theory so as to show that this is as valid and satisfactory an explanation as any other.
